Okay

One Year Ago

"Asra," Gabriel snapped as he paced around his office, his brows in what seemed to be eternally furrowed. Adrien was at school and Nathalie was attending a business meeting for him so he was free to talk however he liked, utilizing his threatening aura to scare the kwami out of his bracelet "I need a new game plan if I'm going to get anywhere with this- tedious miraculous hunting."

Asra simply floated in silence, trying not to say anything too smart and make his master angry "I'm sorry, sir. I'm not quite sure what you mean. I'm not sure there's much I can do given that the guardian is the only one that gives out miraculous. I could infiltrate that team of brats with an agent of my own. '" the kwami said, not knowing the idea that would plant in his master's mind.

"What if they weren't the only one who gave out such treasures?" Gabriel muttered aloud, dashing to his desk to grab a piece of paper "I only have you, Nooroo, and Duusu. I need both of them, so it looks like you're going on a little field trip, dear Asra."

"How would we decide who to give it to? Are we even sure they'd listen to us?" Asra asked, watching as Gabriel rifled through a folder, eyes focused on nothing but the papers filtering through his fingers.

"We don't have to be. You're smart enough to provide relevant intel to me, and if they're hurt enough they'll be easy to control." Gabriel said dismissively "I'm not above getting my hands dirty for this to work, Asra."

Asra could feel a pang in his heart for whichever poor soul Gabriel was going to set his sights on, he knew it was going to be a horrible road to walk "Sir, I'm aware of how far you're willing to go but whoever you recruit might not recover from whatever it is you do to them, your plan could completely backfire."

"Which is why you're there to keep them stable enough to continue their job" Gabriel snapped as he finally pulled out a piece of paper with some names on it. Gabriel went to a lot of meetings, he knew a lot of people, and he knew the (L/N) family well as the grandparents of the family had done a lot of legal work for him in the past. He knew they had a grandchild with a lot of potential to be useful, not many friends back home, and a borderline anxiety problem from what he had gathered the one time they met at a party years back. Staging an accident for their parents and getting (Y/N) sent to Paris should be easy enough. If he remembered correctly (Y/N) was very prone to not prioritizing their own needs, using them should be a cakewalk. Thus, the plan was born "You are not to mess this up for us, okay Asra?."

Asra swallowed his pride, already feeling bile bubble up his throat in disgust of his master "Okay".

Present Day

"Good morning, my love," Luka whispered happily as he stretched, yawning as (Y/N) Sat up and rubbed their eyes, blinking as their eyes adjusted to the light "How'd you sleep?". He pulled (Y/N) back down to snuggle, pulling their head on top of his chest as he played with their hair.

(Y/N) half-whispered, half groaned in response "Not great even when I finally fell asleep," with a concerned look from Luka, they continued "I had a really bad headache last night, everything was blurry and just hearing a car made me want to cry."

Luka kissed the top of their head "Why didn't you wake me up? I would have loved to take care of you,"

"But that's all you've been doing. You had a long day I wanted you to sleep," (Y/N) said as they snuggled closer.

"Angel," Luka huffed, a pout on his face as his eyes vaguely resembled a sad puppy "I love doting on you and making you feel better. Don't hesitate to wake me up if you're hurting okay? Physically or mentally, my love. I said I'd be here for you, helping you at all times of the day is kind of part of that deal." he said as he sat up, pulling (Y/N) up to straddle him so he could just hug them as long as he wanted. He felt (Y/N) try to shift their weight so they didn't seem as heavy and he wordlessly pulled them back down, murmuring something about how he's fine and they're perfect.

"I'm sorry." (Y/N) whispered, wrapping their arms around Luka's neck and hugging him close

"You have nothing to apologize for, Angel. Just try to relax for me, okay?" he whispered back, tapping I love you occasionally as he soothingly rubbed their back.

(Y/N) sighed melting into Luka's arms with a quiet "Okay,"

***

"Have you ever wondered what (Y/N)'s parents were like?" Juleka asked as she lounged with Luka in his room. He had finally left (Y/N)'s and was playing on his switch while Juleka scrolled aimlessly on her phone, accompanied by the occasional blush when Rose texted her back.

Luka shrugged "Of course I have, but it doesn't seem like they're ready to talk much about them. I know they were good to (Y/N) but they're so anxious and worried about bothering me that it makes me wonder how occupied their parents were. I know they spent time together and stuff, (Y/N) has told me about that but...I know they were busy with work and (Y/N) pretty much had to raise themselves sometimes."

"You think so?" Juleka asked, setting their phone down

"It's just a hunch, why do you ask?"

Juleka sighed "I don't know. I found some articles about the accident and some stuff just doesn't add up. (Y/N) had insisted their parents were always careful drivers and never did anything wrong, so how did they get into such a lethal accident? The airbags didn't even go off." Juleka said, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration "(Y/N) is so paranoid sometimes I feel like they'd make their parents constantly make sure the airbag work just in case. (Y/N)'s family is loaded, maybe someone was after the money?"

Luka just sat there in shock, he had no idea Juleka had been thinking so much about that. To him, the accident felt like something he had to avoid talking about at all costs while his sister was busy forming conspiracy theories? It was a little out of the left-field, but it made sense the more Juleka explained it. "It's not like we can prove anything, we have articles to go off of, that's it. They're stressed enough as it is so let's not bring this up to (Y/N) unless we somehow prove something, okay?"

"Okay"
