Fun Times

Seeing as we made it into the playoffs we had a few weeks off from games while we waited to see who the other teams were going to be. Today we were going somewhere and all we knew was that he had to bring our gear which makes sense.

Mom pulled up to drop Charlie, Connie and I off at wherever we were meant to be.  When I got out of the car I looked up and saw that we were in front of the Met Center. (I wasn't sure where they were at this point and this was the home stadium of the North Stars so that's what I'm going off)

"Why are we here?" I asked and nobody answered me because they were all in just as much awe as me.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go inside." Coach said enthusiastically and so we all just followed him inside the building.

All of us were just looking around at everything that was going on in the building. We were about to walk onto the ice but came to a stop quickly.
"Guys, it's the North Stars!" Connie yelled and we all looked to the front of the group.

On the ice, and practising were the North Stars.
"Look it's Mike Modano." Someone else yelled and Mike skated past us.
"What are we doing here?" Charlie and I asked Bombay and he just looked at us with crazy eyes.

That was something that not many people could get used to. We laughed and then looked back at coach.
"This is a little Play-offs present." He smirked at us and we looked at each other again as if one of us knew what he was planning.

Soon after the north Stars players had finished practise because they had a game later that day and had to go relax. Two of them stopped and stood in front of us. Mike Modano and Basil McRae.

They were having some conversation about how Basil knew who coach was and then how Mike thought that he was a farmer.
"Ducks this is Basil McRae and Mike Modano." He introduced us as if none of us had seen a hockey game before.

"Hey Ducks. Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about." He told us and then looked back at coach.
"Hey, if you ever want a shot, let me know, I'll get you a try-out at the minor league clubs."

"Thanks." Coach shook his hand and with that the two hockey players left.
"Alright! Let's have some fun!" Coach yelled and we all basically dropped our things and got on the ice.

It was so much fun. At the start Connie and Guy were skating around holding hands while everyone else was playing around.  Adam and I were just slowly skating around the rink and talking when Charlie came crashing into me.

"Ow! Charlie that hurt." I just laid there on the ground for a while because I didn't feel like going through the trouble of trying to get up.
"Sorry Maddi. In my defence I was trying to bring you both down, not just you."

"That doesn't mean it hurts any less." I look up at Adam and he held his hand out for me to grab. He helped me up and then i dusted the extra ice off my clothes. The rest of the day went by in a blur.

We were all just having fun, skating, bringing each other down to the ground. Tammy would often do a bunch of spins and show off which I thought was pretty cool. Eventually it was time for us to get off the ice and watch the North Stars game.

I was going to sit with Connie but she seemed to be completely fixated on Guy at the moment so instead I sat in between Adam and Jesse. I knew how much Jesse seemed to hate the fact that everyone else on the team liked Adam and was getting used to him.

I didn't want either of them fighting and I would much rather make Jesse shut up then hear him argue with somebody else. The game was going amazingly and the North Stars were winning just like we thought they would.

Half way through the game and after the North Stars had scored a goal, I looked up at the screen to see the scores but I saw something even cooler.
"Guys look!" I yelled and pointed to the screen that now said 'Welcome Gordan Bombay and the Ducks'

We were all screaming and I may have recorded it so I could send it to everyone.  After that the game proceeded how it usually would and we were all having the time of our lives.  At one moment in time I turned around to talk to Connie about something but I saw Guy grab her hand so I decided not to bother them.

I was back to watching the game go down but I noticed Adams head turned away from the actual game. When I turned my head I saw Mcgill and Larson standing there with smug looks on their faces.

McGill made a gun with his hand and pretended to shoot at us like he was going to kill us but I just ignored it. Adam on the other hand did not ignore it and he ended up trying to hide behind his jacket.

"Adam, don't let those two get to you. Their just trying to psych you out before our next game." I tried to reassure him but his head was still hiding. I sighed and grabbed his hand, holding it in mine.

Adam just looked at me for a moment and then relaxed and looked back towards the game.
"I read that it calms people down." I made up an excuse about it so I could hold his hand. After a little bit I went to let go of his hand but he kept our fingers intertwined.

"Let's just stay like this for a little while longer, okay?" He asked and I nodded my head with a smile. Inside I was screaming, but on the outside I had to try and hide how I was feeling which meant not looking at anybody to make sur that they didn't see my red face.
