CH.5

Before I could pelt Sandra with questions, she fled the room, speeding to answer the door. If it were a cartoon, I swear, there would be cloud of dust where she once stood.

I blinked for a moment and then stood to my feet, walking after Sandra, a little dazed.

As I walked down her lengthy hallway. With each step I took, their voices became nearer, louder; and I became more nervous.

I leaned against the wall opposite of them, trying to calm down. Why was I so nervous. It was just a party. That Decan is going to as well. In a very charming navy blue t-shirt and jeans that fitted him just right....

"Hope? Hoooope? You there?" Said Brent, waving a hand in front of my face.

I blinked and then shook my head, "ya i'm here," I swatted his hand away from my face. How long did I zone out?

"Ready to go?" Decan asked, motioning to the door as Brent stepped back beside Sandra, who blushed a rosy pink.

"Yup. Ready as i'll ever be!" I spoke enthusiastically, a fake smile planted on my lips. And with that I walked out the front door with the rest of them.

The car ride wasn't long or awkward. It was fun. We sang along to Call me Maybe by Carley Ray Jepson. My nerves seemed to calm, by just being with my friends. It also helped when Dean leaned over and whispered in my ear that I looked nice tonight. Of course I just made a joke about it saying, "do I look ugly every other day, then?" But it truly made me a little more confident. Gosh i'm acting like such a girly girl.

We parked on the side of the road in front of the house. It was lit up from inside and vibrated with the loud pop music blaring.

The parking lot and street were filled with cars. Some were even parked on the lawn; and now that I mention the lawn, there were a few people passed out there too.

I chuckled softly at the people, "looks like the party's in full swing," I stated.

"Full swing?" Decan asked, chuckling at my wording.

"Shut up," I flushed and hit him playfully on the chest.

We were walking up to the house now. I didn't feel nervous anymore, just excited.

We walked in and it was just like you would see on tv: teenagers being crazy.

Right now all we could see was the stairs that stretched down elegantly with, white curving railings. They looked like arms unfolding for a hug. Beside the stairs were to hallways leading into, what i'm guessing would be, the living room and kitchen.

The place probably more extravagant and royal but, most of the house was covered in red beer cups and teenagers grinding on each other, (They were either grinding or dancing, I couldn't tell which one it was) tinting the houses glamour.

I laughed, picking my way carefully through the tossed cups on the ground and people. "Who's party is this, any ways?" I asked Decan.

"One of Brent's friends. I think."

He stated.

"Well a friend of a friend's anyways," said Brent smirking slightly.

I saw Sandra's hazel eyes widen, "so you don't know who's party we're at?!"

He just chuckled in response.

"Great we're party crashers." I said, shaking my head in amusement.

We got to the living room, which was filled with people dancing and drinking. Brent took Sandra away to meet some of his friends. She looked kind of panicked, but thats Sandra for you, panicked and unsocial. I was left with Decan.

We decided to go get a beer to drink and then headed towards the kitchen, which I have to say was bigger then my kitchen and living room combined.

The grey counter was covered in beer and vodka bottles. We chose the beer bottles that were not opened yet and weren't in red cups.

I sipped my beer, as he sipped his. It was cold going down my throat, relaxing my unsettled nerves.

"Is this your first party?" He asked, observing me.

"Do bouncy castles and princess birthday parties count?"

He chuckled, "no, i'm afraid they don't,"

"Damn. I guess this is my first high school party then." I replied, i raised my beer in the air, as if i was doing a toast.

"We better make your first party worth remembering then," and with that he grabbed my hand and, dragged me to the dance floor. a.k.a the living room.

The song dynamite boomed through the room. I laughed, remembering how much I used to love this song.

Decan's hands rested lightly on my hips, I didn't mind.

I swayed my hips, lifting my hands up in the air.

I was singing and dancing along with the rest of the crowd when my phone started to buzz, crazily, in my pocket.

I pulled away from Decan, a strong hate building for whoever was disturbing my perfect night with him.

I walked away from the crowd, stepping outside in the backyard. The cool wind hit me calming me by not much.

"Hello?" I asked annoyed and then I froze.

Crying, no sobbing. Someone was sobbing at the under end of the phone.

"It's me sadie," sob, "I-I d-don't know what happened-d," hiccup

"Sadie I want you to breath, alright? Tell me what happened. I'm right here, ok?"

Decan, who was standing with me, raised an eyebrow. He then mouthed the words, 'is everything ok?'

I looked at him with worried eyes and mouthed back, 'I don't know'

"Alright-t, ok. Can-n you c-come over?" Sandra asked, still crying.

"Ya, of course. I'll be there in a little bit, ok?"

"Ok. Thank you H-Hope."

She hung up.

"Decan, I have to go. Wheres Bren...," I was cut off as we heard the yelling.

Me and Decan looked to see where it was coming from, and saw a group forming.

People were circling two people. The crowd was chanting "fight, fight!".

Me and Decan jogged over, to see who the two people were. I was surprised to see Brent facing off some dude. Decan, on the other hand, didn't so surprised. Just annoyed.

We pushed through the heard of people. I noticed Sandra standing on the inside of the circle. She was flailing her arms screaming protests, but her screams were lost in the noise of the people.

Brent had a busted lip and his knuckles were bloody as well. But the kid he was beating to a pulp, had way more damage done to him.

"Oh my gosh! Someones gotta do something!!" I screeched. I turned to Decan, "Decan do something! Go hold him back or something!"

"Ya I will, don't worry. Just go get Sandra, and we'll get out of here." He said over his shoulder, already jogging towards Brent.

I ran over to Sandra. Grabbing her arms, I spun her to face me.

"You ok?!" I asked her, flustered.

"Ya. But I don't know about Brent. We were just hanging out, talking, and then...." She sighed, and looked over to where Brent and Decan stood.

The fight was over. The crowd was hissing boos, and began to walk away. Decan stood with his hands on each of Brent's shoulders, talking to him about something.

"Things just got out of hand..." Sandra sighed.

I nodded, "lets get out of here. Brent and Decan are on there way over to us now,"

Sandra fled off to Brent, grabbing his face with both her hands. She smooshed his cheeks together, and tilted his head side to side, observing the damage to his face. He looked amused as he swatted her hands away from his face, smiling down at her, he rapped his arms around her waist. He pulled her alongside him as they, and Decan, walked towards me. I stood in the same place Sandra once stood.

Brent smiled slightly, "sorry about the inconvenience," apologized Brent.

I shook my head and yawned, "boys fight. Thats what they do,"

I guess I fell asleep in the car, cuz I woke up in Sandra's bedroom with no memory of getting out of the car. Not only this but Brent and Decan were passed out in the fluffy pink carpet on the ground.

I groaned, rubbing at my face, I fell back into the fluffy blankets warmth.

"Pssssttt. You awake?"

I was suddenly poked in the face with a very sharp fingernail.

"Sandra, you have 2 seconds to get your finger away from my face before I bite it off," I hissed, threateningly. I then rolled over, burying my face in fluffy peach coloured blanket once again.

"You think it was a bad idea for me to let them sleepover?" She whispered.

I rolled back over and sighed, "have we been raped and, or, murdered in our sleep?"

"No." She replied

"Then I really do not care" I rolled back over.

"Alright. But I just wanted to say that he was injured and I was not letting him go home like that and-"

"Sandra, Sandra please I am begging you; just let me go back to sleep," I cried, waving my hand in the air.

Silence finally. I sighed in contentment.

"BEEP BOOP!"

I lifted my head slowly, scowling, ready to give Sandra a death glare. I stopped once I saw the look on her face, as she starred down at her phone.

"Whats up?" I asked, concerned.

"Somethings wrong with Sadie." She said, "were you supposed to go to her house yesterday, last night?"

Shit, shit, friggin shit balls, shit!!

"Yes! OH MY GOSH I forgot! And she was so upset!! Oh my gosh oh my gosh!" I was hyperventilating.

I jumped out of bed and ran for my purse, which was draped over Sandra's peach coloured sofa chair. I tripped over Brent's sleeping body that was sprawled on the floor and went sailing to the floor. Straight on top of Decan. Who was sleeping shirtless. This scenario would of made me happy any other day, but I was in a panic over Sadie.

Both boys woke up disgruntled. Decan, in a sleepy haze, threw is arm sleepily around my waist. His hand landing on my lower back.

I shivered.

"Good morning," he greeted me groggily.

I was about to laugh when I remembered about Sadie.

"Morning and I have to go," I said jumping to my feet and out of his embrace.

Both Decan and Brent sat up as I grabbed my purse from the sofa chair, throwing it over my shoulder.

Before they had time to question me about where I was going, I pulled open the door and rushed out worry gnawing at my heels.

----*Sadie's point of view* ---------

Don't cry, don't cry. I chanted to myself. Though the emotional pain was un bearing.

How could life be so dark at times?

I felt sick. My stomach swirled. Maybe it was just nerves. Anxiety.

Is she going to hate me? Maybe Hope already knows. Maybe thats why she never came last night.

So alone. God i'm pathetic. What is everybody going to think? I don't cry often. I never get this upset. And what for?

My world seems to be crashing down around me. Or maybe i'm just being over dramatic.

Maybe thats why there splitting. Maybe thats why he chose her.

Maybe thats why I called him.

I knew who he was. What he meant to Hope. But we were close at one point and she never showed, never came.

Only if Della could of came, or Sandra. It wouldn't of had to be him.
