Chapter 23

SONG: DREAMS - THE CRANBERRIES

Frank continued to steer the boat into the cave as the other three inspected the ruins above and around them as they came up to what looked like a dead tree. The Prince stood up from sitting across from MacGregor, Lily and Rose to inspect what was ahead of them. As he passed the three at mother's instinct Lily grabbed hold of Rose's hand, squeezing it tightly and bringing her in slightly closer so she was further away from the Prince, and in Lily's mind just that little bit safer. The three stood up to see a massive tree with visible roots branching off all of the place as Rose squeezed her mother's hand in reassurance that everything was going to be okay.

Frank steered the boat to a stop to guide them to a pathway as the Prince and his men boarded off. "This Tree is long dead." The Prince spoke with frustration through his teeth as he inspected it closer. "You know more about the Tears of the Moon than anyone, so..." he spoke towards Lily.
"You know how to make it bloom. You will do this for me.

"And when you have what you want... what's to stop you from killing us then?" Lily spoke sternly back.

"I could kill you now." The Prince shrugged, a gun cocks behind Lily. "But you're too valuable at the moment." The gun turns towards the back of Rose's head. "So we could just kill your family."

"Seriously again?!" Rose mumbles to herself as another gun cocks where as this one points to the back of MacGregor's head.

"I'll do it." Frank spoke up jumping off the boat. "If you promise to let them go and give me one single petal in return. I know the myths and the ancient ways as if I've lived them myself.

"Frank you don't have t-" Lily whispered towards Frank, turning round to him, as the Prince slowly approached behind her.

"If anyone here is going to bring the Tears of the Moon, it's me." Frank ignored Lily, especially when she continued to shake her head.

"Can we just decide who's going cause me and Uncle Mac still have a gun to out heads!" Rose sighed heavily but shakily. To which MacGregor returned with holding his niece's hand.

"If you can make the Tree bloom, you may have your petal. You have my word." Frank nodded in agreement once again ignoring Lily shaking her head in disagreement. "But the little brother stays on the boat. Not the gobby one, she comes with us she might be useful." The Prince points to MacGregor first then Rose.

"Gobby one?!" Rose repeated in shock. "I have a bloody name angry little German man." The man behind Rose suddenly grabbed hold of her arms and pushed her as they followed the Prince and Lily who were following Frank up to the top of the Tree.
