It was 11:00pm, just an hour left for Halloween Day to be over. Sabrina was alone at the cinema, sweeping the lounge area for popcorn scourings. Her coworker/friend, had left two hours prior to go to a halloween party. She wasn't a party animal, so doing that favor of covering her shift wasn't debatable.

The cinema was already closed, and Sabrina was just finishing up her tasks. She was tired, and just wanted to go home and listen to All I Want For Christmas is you by Mariah Carey. She calculated that by the time she arrived home, it was already going to be November 1st; and for Sabrina, it was a must to listen to Mariah Carey christmas album as soon as November rolled in.

As she continued to tidy the lounge, Sabrina soon enough got her scare of the night when someone creeped up behind her, and spooked her with a ' boo' and tap on her shoulders. Sabrina turned around in a haste, terrified when she saw someone dressed as Ghostface.

It didn't take much, until you started to giggle, taking off your mask and revealing yourself to the blonde.

" Oh god, I wish I could've recorded that!," You laughed, and Sabrina seemed a little bit more at ease when she saw it was you.

She went ahead and shoved your shoulder with a sigh. " That wasn't funny, Y/n. I could've fainted!"

" But you didn't," You smirked at her. " And it's Halloween. I needed to spook you in someway, Sabri." You added, going ahead and pulling her in for a hug which she didn't denied. " By the way, why are you alone and with the doors unlocked? This is telling me you were hoping for someone to scare you, didn't you?," You joked, drawing away from the embrace to look at her in the eyes.

" Haha, real funny," Sabrina sarcastically replied, followed with a smile. " Olivia left earlier to go to a halloween bash at Billie's, and I genuinely forgot to lock the entrance doors. So no, I didn't want to be spooked," She answered you with a chuckle, and quirked her eyebrow ready to ask you a question. " And why are you here and not at that party? You're friends with Billie."

" I was at the party for a little while, but then I left to come here." You replied to Sabrina.

" Yeah, you came here just to scare me," She rolled her eyes, shoving your shoulder again.

" Well, yeah. But I'm also here because I really wanted to see you," You smiled, and Sabrina's cheeks became flustered at your comment.

" Oh... I never thought someone would leave a party just to come and see me," She smiled softly, and you laughed.

" Well, that someone is me. You do have someone who is willing to skip or leave any event just to come and see you," You whispered, a small pause before adding, " Here, let me help you finish this-," You grabbed the broom from her hand, and Sabrina just stood there with a heart skipping beats. She wondered how you could say such things so casually, while her nervous system battled to compose itself.

" You don't have to do that..," She whispered, but you were already sweeping away the rest of the residues.

" Shh, I want to," You reassured her, while she watched you with a small beam creeping up her lips.

After a bit, You had finished sweeping the entrance of the establishment, and Sabrina had emptied out the remaining trash cans.

As the two lingered around the confectionery display, Sabrina as a thank you, went ahead and gave you a chocolate bar. A baby ruth chocolate bar to be specific. Those were your favorites.

" Here," Sabrina handed it out to you. " Happy Halloween."

" Oh..thank you," You thanked the petite, grabbing the chocolate from her hand. " This is actually my favorite chocolate bar."

" I know," Sabrina nodded, proud of her selection. You and Sabrina both met each other at school. By having a friend in common, you and the blonde were able to acquaintance each other pretty easily. The two of you had a crush on each other, but none dare to actually admit it to one another. Even though you were subtle with giving her hints here and there, you would always shy away from actually confessing it to Sabrina.

You exchanged a glance with the petite, before slipping your hand inside your costume pocket and pulling out a small hershey kiss yourself. After taking a handful of candies from the bowl at the party you were at earlier, you were glad this tiny delight survived your chow down. " Happy Halloween to you too," You smiled, handing it to her.

She giggled, taking ahold of it. " Well thank you, Y/n." Sabrina happily unwrapped it, popping it inside her mouth. " And this is one of my favorite chocolates," Sabrina told you, enjoying how the chocolate melted inside her mouth. " My absolute favorite is-"

" Kit-kats," You finished her sentence, and Sabrina was surprised that you knew that little fact from her. You really paid attention.

" Yeah, kit-kats," She smiled widely, and the two shared glances for what seemed forever. Well, until the unexpected happened.

No, not a kiss.

Instead, it was your brother, Joshua Basset. Dressed as Troy Bolton, he barged through the entrance door of the cinema, shouting, " Well, there's my Gabriella!," He said, pointing at Sabrina.

Secondhand embarrassment was what you felt for your brother at that moment.

It was midnight already, why was he shouting?

With the prop basketball he had in hand, he dribbled it; pacing towards the two of you.

Here was the thing: Your brother was in love with Sabrina too.

He didn't know you liked her, so every time he flirted with Sabrina in front of you, it was just plain awkward. But Sabrina never seemed interested in whatever he was saying anyways.

As you stood aside Sabrina, your nose scrunched while you prattled at the nonsense he was blabbering to her.

" How is a fine piece of art still working? You need to be at home watching hocus pocus with your lilo&stitch pajamas, babe. Even better, with Troy Bolton by your side," He winked at her, and you internally groaned. Embarrassing.

" Joshua, what are you doing here? Weren't you with your friends in downtown?," You interrupted, helping Sabrina not answer such thing.

" I could ask the same, sister," His eyes met yours for a brief moment, before he was looking at the blonde again. " But obviously, I came around to see your friend, Y/n. I'm wondering why are you working? It's halloween!"

" Actually, it's already November 1st," Sabrina corrected him with a small smile. " But I'm not a party-goer. I pretty much prefer to skip all that, and be at home."

" Oh... well, me too. I don't go out either. I'm out on the streets tonight because my friends technically forced me to!," He replied to her.

Lies.

He was always on the streets.

" Oh, that's nice. We have something in common then," Sabrina added, and he nodded.

" Hell yeah! And we probably have even more in common! how about we go on a date tomorrow? We can get to know each other a bit more."

" Oh...I-I don't know Joshua...," Sabrina stuttered, scratching the back of her neck. " I work tomorrow..."

" Hey, that's okay! When are you off then?," He kept prying on, and you exhaled loudly. So loudly that they were both now looking at you.

" Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you guys." You commented before adding," Actually, we have to go. Sabrina is tired and she's going to clock out and go home, okay Josh?"

He nodded at you and then winked at Sabrina. " Hey, just let me know when you're off, okay? I know a perfect place to go out on a date," He pointed out, and she nodded awkwardly at him. " By the way Y/n, your crazy girlfriend, Drea, she called me before I got here. She told me why you're not answering her calls."

As soon as Joshua said that, you could've swore you saw Sabrina's face turn into a frown. " Joshua, she's not my girlfriend!"

" I don't know, Y/n. But she sounded pretty mad that you're not answering her phone calls. Sounds like you two are in a complicated relationship," He smirked, taking Sabrina's hand and giving her a polite kiss at the back of her hand. " I hope to see you soon," He farewell, turning around and exiting the establishment.

An awkward moment took place after he left, and you detested your brother for that brief moment.

" I'm sorry about my brother. You already know about the thing he has for you and-," She cut you off.

" It's okay, don't worry about it. Your brother is cute. I wouldn't mind getting to know him a bit more." Sabrina stated, and you chuckled.

" What? You're kidding, right?," Your eyebrow was quirked. She didn't mean that for real, right? You thought, but her expression did seem genuine. " Do you like my brother?"

Sabrina was quiet for a moment and didn't reply to what you asked her. " I'm going to clock out and close the theater, Y/n. I'll talk to you later, okay?"

" Come on, Sabri. I asked you a question," You laughed, but deep down you were hurt. This was unexpected for her to say.

" Is Drea your girlfriend? "

Not what you were expecting to hear either. " What? No!," You chuckled. " We're friends, that's all. How is this related to what I asked you?"

She shook her head, " It's nothing, Y/n. I'm going to clock out..," And before Sabrina could brush pass you, you grabbed her by the arm and stopped her.

" Do you like my brother?," You asked her once again, eyes soft with a bare of hopelessness on them.

Sabrina was mirroring the same way you were feeling, and in that moment, you knew she was lying about your brother's intake.

" I don't. I like someone else," She whispered, eyes locked on yours.

" Who then? "

She raised her eyebrow. " Noisy much? "

You chuckled. " Sorry about that. I won't ask anything else." You apologized.
" But I knew it wasn't Joshua. My instinct knew."

" Oh really?," Sabrina wondered, placing a few strands of her hair behind her ear. " If your intuition is so good, who do you think I like? "

You swallowed hard. Of course you wished it was you. The air became thick, and your heart became to race. Usually, you would always remain collected whenever you spoke to Sabrina. It wasn't easy, but you always tried to hide that infatuation you had for her. But now, it seemed like it wasn't working anymore. Especially not with the question she was querying. Cheeks became red, and your palms became sweaty. A lie. Yes, think of a lie-you thought. Before you could even open your mouth to express your white lies, your lips were soon enclosed with Sabrina's.

She had leant forward, crashing her lips with yours in such hurry, taking you by surprise.

It was a quick kiss, and Sabrina immediately regretted it when she pulled away. " I'm sorry...I-I-," She started to apologize, but you were already pushing her closer to you and locking them again.

You kissed her deeply, Sabrina's shoulder slumping down as she continued to reciprocate the smooch. A burst of oxytocin, lips red, and soft groans indicated how much the two of you were enjoying it.

Soon enough, however, a voice was heard from the distance. A voice you knew too well.

" What the actual fuck!-," Your brother shouted. He was standing by the entrance door, shocked by what he was witnessing.
