Gas Station

After your group was able to clear a prison infected with walkers, a new home was established there. With the success of it, a celebration was thrown. Glass bottles clinked, cheering for a new beginning.

The evening went with lots of alcohol intake, a lot of dancing by the bonfire, and a deer that was butchered for feeding on.

You and Alycia weren't on good terms after a minor inconvenience that happened a week ago during a scavenging hunt at a gas station. But with the booze clearing worries and grudges temporarily, you and her danced the night away.

Next morning, you woke up with an Alycia slipping her flannel shirt on.

You boosted yourself up from the bed with your elbows, sitting down on the mattress. " Are you still mad?," You asked her.

She nodded, with an evident poker face. " Of course. Just because we just had sex doesn't mean that I won't forget what you did back at the gas station."

You groaned, " The child was already infected, Alycia. "

" His hand was bitten! You could've chopped it away, not shoot him right on the forehead!"

You sighed. " I'm sorry, Alycia. There was a lot of more walkers out there trying to get us. It was a decision i took without thinking properly," You apologized, and Alycia stood quiet for a moment. " I'm sorry, okay?"

Eventually she ended up nodding, convincing herself it was a mistake taken out of rush in your part. " I'll go check on the rest. We will be needing more wood for tonight," Alycia added, giving you one last glance before stepping out of the room.

You groaned, plopping yourself back down on the bed.

At one side, you were feeling guilty about what you did back at the gas station. You could've chosen another path for the kid's life. But at the other, you couldn't risk yourself bringing someone infected to the group. What if chopping the hand wasn't enough? What if the infection was still there? You couldn't risk the lives of the rest. Not even Alycia's. She was your everything.

After contemplating a bit in bed, you decided to get ready and head back down to join the group.

Alycia wasn't giving you the cold shoulder anymore, but you knew deep down she was still hurt.

" She'll be fine, Y/n. You already know how sensitive Alycia is when it comes to kids," Chris, Alycia's brother, patted your shoulder. " Now come on, let's kill some of these motherfuckers," He grinned, pointing down at the walkers that were aimlessly clawing the metal fence from the prison, trying to get in.
