Abandoned Mall

Abandoned Mall

requested: where Alicia Clark falls in love with a girl (reader) for the first time, but doesn't know how to deal with her feelings

When the zombie outbreak hit Los Angeles, California, Alicia and her brother Nick were left to survive the commencement. They both learned new skills and adopted new attitudes in order to keep afloat as civilization collapsed around them.

Nick was a brave and selfless recovering heroin addict. While her sister Alicia, was the fiery yet compassionate sibling. They both managed to keep each other alive, and out of harm from either walkers or tight-fisted survivors.

Before the zombie outbreak made appearance, Alicia was your regular teenager. She was careless and loved to have fun with her friends. She also had a high school sweetheart, a boyfriend, and she cared about him dearly. That was until he was bitten the following day the epidemic hit. Alycia was devastated. And even more so, when her parents were also modified into one of those things.

She only had her brother, and they promised to keep each other free from danger, no matter what.

A year later, Alicia and Nick were inspecting an abandoned mall. Looking for some food or water to pack on their backpacks, but making sure to do everything stealthily. They knew a mall was not a safe spot to rummage, but starvation was getting the best of them.

As they inspected the shopping center, and merging in and out of the stores, they were unable to find anything. All was out of stock, picked up by others survivors.

Alicia was irritated, but her older brother was happy that he was able to at least find his favorite childhood board game,

" CandyLand. "

He stashed it inside his backpack, and continued following Alicia out of the toy store.

It was until then, Alicia stopped on her tracks, Nick doing the same, when they heard a loud shriek come from down the hallway of the mall. They quickly took cover behind the nearest wall, and bent down.

The shrieks were sounding closer, but when they heard a gun go off, Alicia took a peek to see what was going on.

It was a girl. And she was running away from a group of walkers, that were chasing her behind.

" Fuck..!," the girl yelled, immediately reloading her gun once she was out of ammo. Sadly for her, as she was doing so, she stumbled with a bicycle, and fell down. Her pistol skidding away from her.

Alicia was witnessing all of that, and she was not going to do anything. She really wasn't going to risk herself for that unknown woman, but when she heard her screams getting sharp as she kicked the walkers away from her legs, Alicia stood up.

She didn't know why she was doing it, but she felt the need to.

Alicia quickly told her brother to cover her, as she ran down from her position and began to shoot the walkers that were hovering over her.

When she killed them all, the girl stood up in a haste from the floor and raised her hands up in the air, once she saw Alicia pointing her gun at her.

" Don't shoot, please. I'm not going to hurt you," The girl pleaded, but Alicia wasn't really going to shoot her. She just wanted to keep her guard up just in case.

The girl wasn't bad looking. For the events that were taking place on earth, she seemed perfectly healthy and well-cleaned. Her black wavy hair cascaded down her shoulders, a few strands covering her plump pink lips.

Nick couldn't help, but look at the girl in awe. She really was beautiful.

And Alicia thought so too.

" What do you have in your back?," Alicia stated at the girl.

" And what's your name too?," Nick quickly added, and Alicia just rolled her eyes at such moronic comment.

But she wouldn't mind knowing her name as well...

" I-uh- it's food,look-," she quickly removed her backpack from her back, and knelt down, unzipping the back and showing them different cans of food and water bottles. " I can give you guys some, if you let me leave...," She said nervously, taking some cans out, and handing it to them. " My name is Y/N, by the way..," She introduced, lingering her backpack over her, once she was done delivering the goods to the two of them.

" Well, thank you, Y/n," Nick smiled at the girl, and Alicia lowered her gun.

" No, I have to thank the two of you. For saving me," She expressed with gratitude, looking at Nick and then at Alicia.

Alicia stared at her, not really giving her a reassuring smile. She just nodded, and Y/N cleaned her throat, holding the straps of her backpack tightly.

" Well, I'm leaving now...thanks...," Y/n whispered, before turning around, and making her way out of the abandoned mall.

" Hey, Y/n!," Alicia shouted back at the girl, jogging down towards her. " You forgot this," she stated, handling Y/n the gun she left behind when the walkers were attacking her. " You'll need it out there."

Y/n chuckled lightly, taking the pistol from her hands. " I actually do. I'm sorry- I just totally forgot about it. You guys made me nervous, especially you," she admitted, and Alicia scoffed.

" I was keeping my guards up. That's why I held you at gun point," Alicia explained her, and she nodded, understanding.

" I know. People are bad nowadays, it's understandable," Y/n said, looking at Alicia and giving her a soft smile. The girl then took Alicia by surprise, when she moved towards her and gave her a kiss in the cheek as a thank you.

Alicia swallowed lightly, and stared at her for a bit, taking her features in. She looked really beautiful. From all the horrendous walkers she has killed, and bad habitants she's faced with, she never imagined to stumble upon such an admirable girl.

Girl.

She hated the fact that she was girl.

Maybe she was feeling this way since it's been over a year she lost her boyfriend and hasn't felt that kind of affection since then....

Or maybe she was just pretty, and Alicia was just appreciating her.

Either of the two, she was dazed.

Very confused.

When Y/N waved her goodbye, Alicia watched her leave.

" Let me tell you something, sister. If you felt something for that girl, right now it's your time to acquaintance her," her brother approached her, stopping besides her. " Because once she steps out there, you're never going to see her again..."

" Felt something? Are you crazy, Nick? I don't like girls...," She turned to look at him, and he chuckled.

Alicia was lying.

and her brother knew.

" Sureeee, sister," He started. " We've been surviving alone. Like lone wolfs, not caring to help anyone, but ourselves. And just fifteen minutes ago, you decided to help her out. Which honestly, I don't blame you. It would suck to lose such a beautiful babe like her," he chuckled, patting Alicia's shoulder.

" Fuck you, Nick. Why don't you go after her then?," she scoffed at him.

" Really? If you don't plan in making any moves...then okay!," He chirped, and Alicia held him on his tracks, once she realized he was actually going after her.

" I'll see if she's alone. If she is, I'll offer her to join us..," Alicia explained to her brother, in which he nodded happily.

Confused.

She was totally confused about her emotions.

But her brother was right.

Once she steps out there, she's forever gone.

And Alicia actually.....

didn't want that to happen.....
