A complete Mess

" Why again?," Maddy asked you, as you held another beer on your hand.

"What again?," You questioned, your words slurred.

"Drinking."

"It's just one."

" You haven't drank just one. Look at you, you're drunk!," She yelled.

"I'm fine."

"You're not."

"Are you going to argue? I'm having a great time at this party, babe."

" Please, stop. You told me you were not going to drink anymore."

"You left, Maddy."

" You told me you were going to stop, baby. Please stop..," Maddy repeated.

"You're not here with me anymore!," You yelled, stumbling side to side. As you took a sip of your beer, you felt a tear ran down your cheek.

" It doesn't matter, Y/n. I still love you, and care for you," Maddy whispered, her spirit disappearing; as the door of the bathroom opened.

" Hey, Y/n. You okay? I heard you screaming," A concerned Lexi asked you. And when she saw you were making your way towards the floor, she immediately grabbed you.
" Okay, no more drinking, Y/n. Look at you, you're totally drunk, " Lexi removed your drink out of your hand, placing it on the bathroom sink.

" I miss Maddy so much, Lexi. I hate myself," You mumbled, your tears freely falling down from your cheeks.

" I know, Y/n. I miss her too," Lexi nodded, comforting you.

A year ago, Maddy left the party mad at you. After you drank more than what your body could handle, your girlfriend wanted to take you back home.

But you refused, and she left without you.

In her way home, a drunk driver rear-ended her car.

And she died on impact.

That night you weren't able to process anything. You were too drunk, and out of reality.

But when the next day hit, and you realized Maddy was actually gone; you felt yourself died with her too.

You suffered a lot.

It was painful saying goodbye to Maddy. Her last memory of you was fighting with her. She left the world with her heart aching because of your actions.

And in that funeral day, with tears and sobs, you promised her that you were going to stop drinking.

but as the months passed... it ate you alive.

The guilt and conscience.

Your escapism was alcohol, and you couldn't stop.

You missed her.

And right now, you were a mess. A complete mess.
