Chapter thirty
War is over

Ivy could see the color drain from Austin's face as he stared at Olivia in shock, nothing could have prepared Ivy for the euphoric feeling she felt while watching Austin begin to panic as Olivia held the gun in his direction. Ivy knew how this was going to end and it would either go one of two ways, he'd get the gun from Olivia and shoot them both with it or they'd shoot him first and this whole nightmare would be over.

"I should have shot you in the head instead... well I won't make the same mistake twice" he spat as he lunged forward.

Ivy threw her foot out in front of him and watched in delight as he fell tumbling down a hill. The woods we're dark at this time of night and there was no sign of any street lights above them or any people around. Ivy never wanted it to come to this she would have been happy to leave Austin in peace after there relationship fell apart but he didn't let her go, everything that has happened since then has been all his doing and he had no one to blame but himself.

"I... I have a little brother to luck after" he stuttered as Olivia knelt down to him.

"I'm sure he's well capable of looking after himself don't you" she smiled as she looked down at his open wound on his knee.

"It looks like you might have hurt you leg" Ivy said in spite as she glanced over a Olivia.

Ivy knew how much Austin hurt Olivia and she knew that Liv wanted revenge but by the look on Olivia's face she didn't want to shoot him and Ivy understood. Austin is the killer here, for him it's a simple task to take someone's life but for the both of them it wasn't as easy as they thought. Ivy had pictured ending Austin's life multiple times and each time she played it out in her head she was the one who pulled the trigger but when it came down to it she didn't know if she actually had it in her to go through with it.

"If you kill me you'll never know where Caitlin is" he tried to bargain as Ivy laughed nervously.

"Austin it's over you have no more cards to play... Caitlin will be fine and so will the both of us but I can't say the same about you" she spoke confidently as she tried to calm her thoughts.

"Neither of you have it in yourself to kill me and you both know it so just leave and I'll never bother you again" he mumbled as he looked up into Ivy's face, her eyes were the same as the ones he fell in love with but there was something different about them now, he knew what he done was wrong but the problem was he could never take accountability for his actions, Austin was never the one in the wrong.

"You've dragged us all through hell and back and now you say you'll leave us alone from now on.... do you really think I'm that naïve to believe a word you say anymore... I don't want to hurt you but I also can't let you get away with everything you've done so I'll give you two options" Ivy negotiated as Olivia gave her a confused look.

"Olivia rang my dad before she came here... the team are on there way so you can either wait here for there arrival and go to prison for the murder of multiple women, attempted murder, stalking and causing physical harm or you can shoot yourself... the choice is yours" she spoke sternly as he looked up at her with pure rage.

"Neither of them options is happening okay... I'm not going to prison and I sure as hell not shooting myself" he spat as she looked around to see if there was any sign of her dad or the rest of them but they were nowhere to be found yet.

Ivy didn't know what else to do but they were running out of time, Austin was growing more and more agitated as time went on and Olivia was becoming more unsteady as the gun shock in her hand. Ivy was in a world of her own when she saw Olivia making a quick movement out of the corner of eye, before she knew it the gun was on the ground and Austin was on top of Olivia, all Ivy could hear was Olivia screaming and Austin shouting back at her. Ivy could feel her feet move in the direction of the gun and before she had time to think about her next move she shot the gun straight into his chest.

"Ivy.... Ivy are you okay" Olivia called from under Austin's body.

Olivia pushed Austin as hard as she could and scurried out from underneath him. Ivy stood and watched as Austin's body laid lifeless on the cold damp grass.

"You did what you had to do" Olivia muttered as she got up from the ground and slowly made her way over to Ivy.

"I never really wanted it to come to this but he would have killed us" Ivy tried to reassure herself as she thought back on all of the times that Austin put the people she loved at risk.

Footsteps where running towards them as they turned around and spotted Caitlin and Theo making there way through the forest. Ivy knew Caitlin would be fine but she had just killed Theo's brother so she had no idea what way he was going to react.

"What did you do" he asked as he ran up and began to do CPR on Austin.

"I didn't want to do it but he attacked Olivia and he would have killed the both of us so I done it in self defense.... Theo you know what he was like and you know yourself what he would have done to us" Ivy tried to explain to him as he continued to preform CPR on him.

"He would have murdered us and he wouldn't have thought twice about it... she done what she had to do" Olivia spoke up as she grabbed onto Ivy's hand.

Ivy had completely forgot that Caitlin still thought that Olivia was dead with everything going on it must have just slipped her mind. Caitlin was standing beside a tree as she stood and stared at Olivia with her mouth wide open.

"Look I know you don't understand what's going on and I was just as shocked as you but I promise I'll try to explain it as much as possible when we're home and Olivia will fill us in on the rest but she had to pretend to be dead because he would have came back to finish the job... she didn't want to leave us out of it but she had no other choice" Ivy explained as she squeezed Olivia's hand.

Caitlin came running over and pulled Olivia into a hug as Theo slowly rose from the ground. The look on his face wasn't one of anger or malice it was one of despair.

"Give me the gun please" Theo pleaded as Ivy shock her head.

"No... I know that look and I'm not letting you do this" Ivy spoke as she backed away from him.

"Give me the gun Ivy" he asked one last time and as Ivy shock her head for the second time he lunged towards her and whipped the gun out her right hand.

"Listen okay... this is not something you want to do... you can live a happy life without him remember you owe him nothing" Ivy tried to reason with him as Caitlin spoke up from behind her.

"What you done today was unforgivable and I can't understand why you did what you did but in time I could come to forgive you... I love you Theo that doesn't just change because of what you done" Caitlin tried to change his mind as Theo lifted the gun up to his head.

Ivy could see the lights of the police cars coming her way and the noise of the sirens crept closer and closer. Olivia and Caitlin were clinging to each other as Ivy walked closer to Theo. Ivy knew what it felt like to want to end you're life and in all honesty she felt bad on Theo, he didn't have a good childhood and his whole life revolved around making Austin proud and now that Austin was gone he had nothing to hold on for anymore. Ivy could hear Spencer's voice calling her name in the distance as well as the rest of the team calling out for her but she knew that they'd be too late to stop him.

"I'm sorry for everything... really I am I only hope in time you do come to forgive me" was the last thing Theo said before the sound of a gun going off pierced through everyone's ears.

Life stopped as Caitlin sobbed into Olivia's shoulder and Ivy wiped Theo's blood from her eyes and before she knew it Spencer was holding her up as she looked into the eyes of the boy she loved more then anything else. Austin had not only tried to kill everyone she loved but he tried to mentally destroy her and if it wasn't for Spencer he probably would have, Spencer picked her up when she felt she couldn't face the world after what happened with Olivia and she knew that no matter what else happened in her life that she'd be able to face it as long as he stood by her side.

"Thank you for always being there for me" she mumbled as he wiped all the blood from her face.

"I'll always be here for you... I love you Ivy and I don't think I say it enough but I love you so much and I'm so proud of you... you're the most incredible person I've ever met and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you" he spoke quietly as he pulled her aside from everyone else.

Ivy didn't know what he was doing but she knew she'd follow him anywhere. Spencer was the love of her life and she knew that she would be more then happy so spend every moment of her life from now on with him. Ivy looked up into his eyes as he slowly knelt to the ground, she couldn't believe what she was seeing as he held out a ring while he was down on one knee.

"I know this is probably the worst place to ask you this but I'm not a very romantic guy... I love you more and more everyday if that's even possible... you make me feel things I've never felt before and above all you make me want to be a better person... you're beautiful, strong and the bravest person I've ever met and I can't imagine spending the rest of life without you... from this moment on I want it to be me and you... I love you so much Ivy so em... will you marry me please" Spencer declared his love as Ivy looked down at him with a huge smile plastered on her face.

"Of course I'll marry you... I'd love nothing more then to spend every waking moment with you... I love you Spence" she uttered as she pulled him up of his knee and kissed him passionately.

"I love you" he whispered in between kisses.

"By the way I have to disagree with you... I think you're the most romantic guy I know" Ivy laughed as she kissed him one last time before they made there way back to the others.

"I also wanted to say that was the perfect place to propose to me because I finally feel at peace... he's dead now he can't hurt anyone anymore and I can move on with you in peace... I wouldn't change that proposal for anything" Ivy whispered as she looked up into the face of her fiancé.

Spencer and Ivy's life would always be chaotic but they wouldn't have it any other way. Everything that Austin put them through was finally over and they could finally live there lives without looking over there shoulder's 24/7. Olivia was alive and well and she could come home and live her life again. Caitlin can move on and go to college without fear of someone watching her and the team can carry on doing the job they love. Ivy on the other hand decided not to join the team after everything that happened she didn't think it was the right fit for her anymore and that's okay to change you're mind every now and then, she would eventually find something she loves doing just as much as her dad loves his job.

All her life Ivy wanted to make her dad proud she wanted to be just like him when she grew up but she realized she didn't need to do his job to be like him, Aaron is strong, brave and determined and so is Ivy. In more ways then one she's exactly like him but she doesn't need to work in the BAU to make him proud she does that all on her own.

Hey everyone I hope you're all crying like I am right now!!!!
I can't believe I only have one chapter left to write :(
Austin's death was definitely a long time coming!!
But Theo's death hurt me... his whole life was his brother :(
IVY AND SPENCERS ENGAGEMENT OMG!!
But also I liked the last sentence because I think it closes the book off in a positive way because at the start of the book she just wanted to be like her dad and work in the BAU but at the end she finally understood that he's proud of her either way and whatever she does he'll always be proud of her <33
