Chapter ten
Internship Complete

It was two weeks since Ivy and Spencer were found, her internship was now finished and she stars back in university next week. Spencer has been struggling ever since that night but Ivy hasn't really spoken to him, she's been trying to deal with everything that happened on her own and so far that hasn't been working very well.

Olivia and Caitlin spent everyday since the incident with her, she was thankful to have them around but she just wanted some space to get her head straight.
Emily, JJ and Derek have been texting her asking how's she's been feeling for the past 14 days and everyday she replies with the same message "I'm fine". Gideon has been over to check on her in person because Ivy physically can't tell Jason to piss off whereas with the others she would, Hayley's the one person who Ivy has felt like she could talk to, they've both been around each other constantly for the past two weeks and Ivy was grateful to have her, it's probably been the most time they've spent together since she came back from university and her dad has been giving her the space she needs, he's been working most days and in some ways she glad that he's been distracted.

Ivy was looking forward to getting away for awhile, she missed her dorm room and her own personal space. Aaron told her that her internship was finished a week earlier then it should have been but after everything that happened with her and Spencer she had to take time away from the BAU which meant she wouldn't be returning to the team until she graduates and applies for a full time job on the team.

Unknown phone calls and text messages continued to persecute Ivy he just couldn't leave her alone and in a way she was worried about returning to Boston but she tried her best to push that thought out of her mind until the time came to face it.

Ivy spent over a week in her bedroom contemplating all of her life decisions until Hayley decided to drag her out for breakfast.

"You've been lying around the house for far too long Ivy you're leaving in three days and I want to spend some quality time with you" Hayley spoke as she drove to the restaurant.

"I'm very sorry that me being kidnapped has put you in such a difficult position" Ivy barked.

Hayley turned to look over at the girl but remained quite for the rest of the drive until they reached the restaurant.

"Hayley I'm sorry for what I said you've done nothing but help me since it happened I didn't mean it" Ivy spoke as she gave her step mom a hug.

"You have every right to feel the way you do... what you went through was horrible and horrific, I don't expect you to be fine after that but you do have to try" she spoke gently as Ivy smiled.

They spent the rest of the morning talking about what Ivy will do when she arrives in Boston, what time her plane was departing and when she'll be back to visit. Hayley paid for the breakfast and made her way to work as Ivy decided to visit her dad in his job, he didn't have a case to be working on today but they were all doing some paperwork at the office.

"Ivy I didn't expect to see you until I came home" Hotch called from his office as she walked towards him.

"I just thought I'd pop in and say hi... I've nothing better to do and I'm really bored so this passes some time" Ivy spoke as he looked down at her.

"How are you feeling I know I haven't been around much but I'm worried about you" he asked as she shook her head.

"It's been difficult to wrap my head around what I'm feeling... I'm angry that I feel sorry for Tobias because it's not his fault he's sick, I'm sad that I haven't spoke to Spencer since it happened because I've been to afraid to see him after I nearly let him die and I'm happy that we're both still alive so I'm kinda all of the place with how I'm feeling but right now I'm feeling good and I'm just trying my best to get over it... I bet you wish you never asked me" she laughed as Hotch smiled down at her.

"I don't regret asking you at all I'm glad you've told me... everything you're feeling is normal for someone who's gone through what you have and it will take you some time to move on but you're strong and you have so many people around you who worry and care about you" he spoke down to her as he gave her a big hug.

"Thank you dad... speaking of people who care about me I need to go and talk to the others because I've been blowing them off for the past two weeks" Ivy said as she made her way out of her dads office and down to where JJ, Emily and Derek were sitting.

"Hey I just wanted to apologize for how distant I've been over the past two weeks" Ivy called as she walked towards the three of them.

"Ivy you've nothing to apologize for we understand that something like that takes some time to come to terms with" Emily spoke as she got up from her desk to give the girl a hug.

"It's no excuse for the way I've blown you all off for that past two weeks... i am really sorry" Ivy apologized as she hugged all three of them.

"Forget about it you're here now that's all that matters... so when are you leaving for university" Derek questioned.

"In three days I've so much to do I haven't even packed or anything so this was just a flying visit to say goodbye" Ivy answered.

"We'll miss you on the team but the quicker you get back to university and finish you're degree the quicker you'll be working here full time" JJ spoke as Ivy smiled.

"Yes exactly... I'll miss you guys but I'll be home soon and I'll keep in touch like I always do" Ivy said as the rest of them said there goodbyes.

The next three days flew by Ivy was constantly on the go trying to be as prepared as possible, she had packed and said goodbye to most people the only person she hadn't seen was Spencer, she had texted him a few times but he hadn't replied to any of her messages and she understood that he needed time before he faced her again after what happened so she didn't push him.

Ivy was putting her suitcase into her car as Spencer came up behind her.

"Hey stranger long time no see" he laughed as she ran up and hugged him.

"I've missed you Spence... how are you feeling" she asked him as he looked down at her.

"I've been better but I'm guessing you feel exactly the same... I've been having a few problems ever since what happened but I've got it under control now" he spoke sincerely.

"I'm glad you're okay... I was worried about you" she mumbled.

"I was worried about you too but I just didn't have it in me to contact you until I got myself back on track I'm really sorry" he apologized as Ivy shook her head.

"Don't be silly Spence we needed time apart to deal with it separately and that's fine, I've dealt with it on my own and you've dealt with it by yourself as well it was something we both had to do separately... you have absolutely nothing to apologize for" Ivy answered as he looked down into her big brown eyes.

"You know you always say exactly the right thing" he laughed as she playfully hit him in the arm.

"I could say the exact same thing to you" Ivy mumbled as he looked at her seriously.

"Do you remember before everything happened and you were crying in the bathroom... you were about to tell me what was wrong when Penelope walked in and then you just brushed it aside as if it was nothing I just want you to know that I haven't forgotten about that and I'm still here if you want someone to listen" he spoke to her as she looked down at the ground.

"Thank you for always being here for me but at the moment I'm really just trying to forget about that issue... when I'm ready to tell someone you'll be the first to know but I don't want to waste another second of my time overthinking that situation but honestly thank you so much for remembering that conversation I'm very grateful to have you Spencer" Ivy answered as he planted a quick kiss on her lips.

Ivy was shocked by how confident Spencer was in the kiss and before she knew it she was kissing him back, Spencer wrapped his arms around her waist as she combed her fingers through his hair.

"Well that wasn't the direction I thought this conversation would go but I'm glad it did" Ivy spoke as he smiled down at her.

"I've been wanting to do that for awhile and I just thought fuck it why not" Spencer laughed as Ivy stood up on her tip toes to plant a quick peck on his lips.

"Exactly fuck it why not" she whispered as her dad walked out the door.

"What are the both of you up too" Hotch asked as he looked at the both of them standing by the car.

"Em we weren't exactly up to anything why would you think we were up to something... did we look like we were doing something because we weren't" Spencer panicked as Ivy rolled her eyes at him and began to laugh.

"We we're just saying goodbye dad" Ivy finished as Spencer relaxed beside her.

"Okay well you two quickly finish whatever it is that use we're doing and let's get going because you don't want to be late for you're flight" Hotch spoke as he began to get into the passenger seat.

"Wait you're coming with me how will you get home" Ivy questioned.

"I'll get a taxi home I want to make sure you get there safely is that okay" he asked as she nodded at him.

"Yeah that's fine dad just give me two minutes" she answered as she turned her attention onto Spencer.

"I have to leave now but I'll keep in touch with you and it won't be long before I'm back home for good" she spoke as Spencer gave her a big hug.

"I'm going to miss you" he spoke quietly into her ear.

"I'm going to miss you too but we'll talk most days and before you know it I'll be home" she smiled up at him as he let go of her.

"Okay I don't want to make you late for your flight so be careful and text me when you land so I know you got there okay" he looked down at Ivy as she giggled.

"I'll make sure you're the first person I text when I land... I'll see you soon Spence" Ivy spoke as Spencer got into his car and waved goodbye to her as he drove out of her front yard.

Ivy drove all the way to airport with her dad telling her to be careful and to ring him everyday. Aaron didn't want her to go through the same thing again with Austin but he knew that she was strong and could handle herself but that didn't stop him from being worried about her.

"Dad everything is going to be fine and if it's not I'll ring you straight away but you have nothing to worry about I'll be fine" Ivy spoke as she stood by the entrance of the airport.

"I know and I trust you but just know I'm always a phone call away day or night Ivy I mean that... be careful and take care of yourself I'll see you soon" Hotch said as he gave his only daughter a hug goodbye.

"I love you dad" Ivy spoke as she walked into the airport and away from everything that made her feel at home.

Hey everyone I know it's been a while since I updated this book but I was really busy with work and stuff but I just thought I'd give you a new chapter while I start writing a lot more chapters!
This was also just a filler chapter of Ivy leaving things will get progressively more intense now!
Also Spencer and Ivy's first kiss!!!!!
