Chapter three
Two weeks

Ivy's first case was difficult but in the end she got there, she always knew it would be hard but she was looking forward to her two weeks off, Everyone on the team got to take two weeks off, no emergency calls to come into work at 2am, just relaxing time away from the BAU. Ivy didn't feel like she deserved two weeks off like the rest of them because she'd really only worked one full day but everyone insisted that she should take the same time out as the rest of them so that when they all come back they'd be fresh and ready to take on there next case.

Hayley was so happy to have Aaron at home for a whole two weeks and Ivy was excited to spend time with Olivia and Caitlin. Spencer was going to visit his mom, Derek and Elle were going to a resort for the two weeks, Jason was spending his time cooking and relaxing and JJ was spending most of her time at home with Caitlin.

Caitlin is JJ's little sister she's 18 years old, Ivy went to the same school as Caitlin and everyday after school they'd both make there way back to the BAU and sit around there for the day. Caitlin was like Ivy's little sister that she never had, they'd do everything together and when she was away at college Caitlin would come and stay in her dorm some weekends and JJ would drive her back home.

All of the team was packing there stuff away as everyone was getting ready to leave for there break away. Elle, Derek and Ivy were huddled in the small kitchen making some coffee.

"Morgan you're friends resort better be as nice as you say it is" Elle joked as she poured coffee into all three of there cups.

"Hey I never said it was his he just manages the place but trust me when I tell you it is off the hook... hot sunny days, cool breezes at night, never ending tropical drinks with the little umbrellas and nothing but young beautiful adults looking to make vacation memories" he imagined as he drank some of his coffee.

"Remind me why I didn't choose to go with the teo of you instead of staying at home" Ivy mumbled.

"You can still come with us if you want I can always just book you another room" Derek replied.

"I would really like to but I think I should just stay at home I've been gone for so long as it is, I haven't really had some family time since I came back for university but thank you really" Ivy answered.

"I still can't imagine what two weeks away from this place will feel like" Elle said as Morgan dropped down into his seat.

"Well you know you better thank you're man upstairs for making it the whole team otherwise you know they'd find a reason to bring us back up in here" Morgan added.

Spencer walked up to his desk to get his jacket and bag before heading for the airport to go and see his mom. He also got asked to go with Elle and Derek to the resort but he also declined the offer, he hadn't really spent much time alone with his mom in a while, he sends her letters everyday mostly about the cases he does with the team but he always writes to her, he just finds it difficult to pluck up the courage to speak to her face to face.

"Come on man the offer still stands you can still come with us" Derek asked for the thousandth time today.

"No I'm good... okay I've got to run bye guys have a good one" Spencer mumbled as he walked quickly out of the room.

"Just give me a second" Ivy said as she tried to catch up to Spencer.

"Hey Spence slow down for a second I won't keep you long" she called out to him as he came to a stop in front of her.

"Are you feeling okay because you seem to be a bit off" she asked sensitively.

"I was looking forward to going to visit my mom ever since I booked the ticket but now that the times come I just wish I could cancel and spend the two weeks on my own" he replied.

"Spence you love her and she loves you, you know that yourself you don't need me to tell you that. I know the way you are you're overthinking about everything that could potentially go wrong but you miss her and I'd say she misses you just as much. I think you should just bite the bullet and go and whatever happens from the point forward just cross that bridge when it comes to it. I'm proud of you for going" she spoke as the boy looked her straight into the eyes.

"Sometimes I feel like you're the only person I can talk to and thank you Ivy really I appreciate you very much... have a great two weeks and I'll see you after stay safe I've gotta run" he spoke as he pressed the button of the elevator.

"I thought you had a fear of elevators" Ivy laughed as Spencer shot her a serious look.

"We said we'd never speak about that again" he shouted across to her as the elevator doors opened.

"I won't speak of it ever again from this moment forward but just make sure not to get locked in it" she joked as the doors closed with him inside of it.

"Did he look okay to you" Derek asked as Ivy made her way back to there desks.

"He looks about the way I would if I was going to spend two weeks with my family" Elle said seriously.

"Hey don't knock family I'm going to get nothing but that for the next three hundred and thirty six hours" Hotch said as he came up behind Ivy and put his arm around her shoulder.

"three hundred and thirty six hours of pure torture you mean" Ivy joked as Aaron playfully pushed her away from him.

"Hayley's got a list of choirs a mile long and I can't wait the hardest decision I've gotta make is which one I'm going to do first" Hotch said as Gideon came skipping doing the stairs.

"I'll be lost in a cabin in the woods for the next two weeks do not call me for anything have a great time you all deserve a break... seriously don't call" Gideon said as he basically ran out the door.

After everyone left and went there separate ways Hotch went home to Hayley and Ivy went to meet up with Caitlin. The two girls had so many ideas for what to do for the next two weeks because Ivy was off work and Caitlin was on summer vacation.

"How about me you and Olivia go on a little road trip" Caitlin suggested as Ivy was driving.

"I really would love to but I promised my dad that the next two weeks would be family time" Ivy replied.

"Ivy you know he'd be more then happy to see you have some fun and come on let's face it you see him 24/7 as it is.. everyday is family time" Caitlin groaned.

"I'll ask him if he's okay with me going but if he says he'd prefer me to stay I will" she mumbled.

Aaron was never going to say no to Ivy having some time away with her friends, she felt bad leaving him for a week but at least she still got to spend seven days worth of family time with Hayley, Aaron and Jack. The first week flew by they went out for dinner most nights which is not something they ever do and spent most of there time sitting on the couch watching movie's. Monday came along fast and Olivia and Caitlin were at her front door with there bags ready for the week ahead.

"I'll be out in a second just load you're bags into the boot of my car" Ivy shouted.

"Dad are you sure about this.. I can stay here with you if you want me too I really enjoyed this week" she smiled as she thought of the week they had just had together.

"Ivy I'm positive you should have fun, I'm honestly glad you're going on this road trip and by the time you're back we'll be diving head first into a load of cases so enjoy the time you have left, just be safe I love you so much" he spoke as he gave her a huge hug and kissed the top of her head.

"I love you Dad more than anything... ring me if you need me my phone will always be on okay" she promised as she began to walk towards the door.

"Okay I'll ring you if I need you... Ivy make sure you have fun because if you come back here and tell me you didn't you can stay on the road okay" he laughed.

"Okay dad love you" she smiled as she closed the door behind her.

"ROAD TRIP HERE WE COME" Caitlin shouted as all three of the girls got into the car and drove off into the distance to find a cheap motel.
