michael: new years eve sucks man

calum: true, i'm so tired i probably won't even make it until midnight

michael: same, jet lag really fucked me up

calum: did you make any new years resolutions?

michael: not really, i think they're dumb

calum: mh, yeah, same

michael: i really wanted a kiss at midnight this year you know

calum: me too but from who? we're so busy that we don't even get time for girls

michael: or boys

calum: yeah, or boys

calum: you know, i wouldn't mind to kiss one of you guys

michael: and i thought you were the straight one

calum: i am!! i just think it'll be nice to have someone to kiss at midnight but i can't find myself a girl in three hours

michael: i'm pretty sure you can, every girl would kiss you

calum: but i'm too tired to leave the hotel room

michael: are you also too tired to come over to my hotel room and cuddle?

calum: i think i can do that

michael: great

calum: looks like you're going to be my new years kiss

michael: haha, we'll see

And Calum was right.

They were just watching TV, cuddling on Michael's hotel room bed and as the countdown started, both boys looked at each other.

Michael asked if they were really going to do it and Calum just nodded, leaning in to softly place his own lips onto Michael's as the clock stroke 12 and the fireworks started.

And no one knew in that moment that Calum would be Michael's new years kiss for so many more years.

And they wouldn't have it any other way.
