I shook off the horrific memories as I heard the buzzing sounds of gates opening and doors unlocking. Now I may have never been to prison but it looks exactly like every juvenile detention center that I have been sent to.

I sat on the hard bench chair across from the man that I call my father. It's been a little while since I've last seen him. I've been kind of busy since the move out of Compton.

"So you didn't forget about me?" He says.

"Don't start that shit. I've been caught up with some things but I came with good news." I reply.

"You ain't get that Alexa girl pregnant did you?" He asks trying to guess what it was.

"Uh no, God no, I'd turn into mom if that happened. Minus the drugs of course" I say.

My mother literally disappeared on me and my father. Ain't no telling where she is now. If she's even alive anyway.

"Although you're right. It's just not Alexa but I'm not here to tell you that." I add.

I nod at the guard and he comes over and and takes the cuffs off my father. "Welcome home."

"You paid my bond?" He questions.

"Did you really think I was gonna let you rot in prison?" I ask.

"It was starting to feel like it." He admits.

"You know damn well I wouldn't. Now bring yo ass sir. This place is starting to give me ptsd."

"So who the hell did you get pregnant?" My dad asks as I pulled up to his house.

"My girl. You think I'm out here getting random women pregnant?" I ask.

"I don't know. I once did." He says.

I looked at him confused as fuck. "Do I have siblings out here?"

"Probably." He answers.

"I don't know if freeing you was a good idea. You are a menace to society." I joke.

My phone started going off so I answered it once I seen who was calling first. "What's up Gia?"

"Have you seen Rue?" She asked almost panicked like.

"No I haven't seen Rue. What's going on?" I ask.

"Can you come to the house? It's a lot going on." She replies.

"Yeah I'll be there." I say and hang up.

"It's really nice to have you back pops but I gotta go." I tell him.

"Have you been driving my Charger?" He asks quickly.

"Nope." I lie and exit his house.

"So what's going on with Rue again?" I ask.

"She's ran off somewhere. I found a giant suitcase of drugs under her bed and she flipped when I told her that I flushed them. She agreed to go the hospital but took off in traffic. I don't know where she is." Aunt Leslie explains to me.

Oh I'm about to whoop Rue's ass. I knew she full of shit when she came to me about the whole weed thing. But wait, a suitcase full of fucking drugs. Where would she get-, oh no.

I know who deals their shit like that. Rue done fucked with Laurie. I did some business with her a couple years back. That woman is scary. Rue is in some serious shit if she don't pay that woman back.

But I know they came to me because I know Rue better than anyone. Rue and I were basically attached at the hip growing up.

"Where were you guys when she took off?" I ask.

They tell me the intersection that they were at and I start thinking about the closest places in that area that she could go. Only one location made the most sense to me. The Howard residence.

I turned out to be right as Leslie got a call from Suze. Damn maybe my calling is being a detective. In another life of course, I don't fuck with them type of people in this one.

We quickly rush towards Suze's house before Rue has a chance to book it again. We enter the house and Rue was nowhere to be seen. But Suze, Maddy, Kat, and Lexi were all there.

"Where's Rue?" I ask.

"She went to use the bathroom." Suze answers.

Maddy comes over and hugs me happily. I hug her back and turn my focus back on the stairs as Rue comes around the corner.

"Ah fuck. It'll never fuckin' end." Rue says as she sits on the steps.

"This can't make you feel good, Rue. Livin' like this. Lying to the people you love, bein' mean to the people you love. This can't make you feel good about yourself." Aunt Leslie said.

"I don't care. Just fuckin' leave me alone please." Rue responds clearly going through withdrawals.

"I know you're in pain." Leslie says trying to stay calm.

Rue clutches on to her stomach. I hate seeing her like this. But what can I really do? "You have no fucking idea mom."

Cassie mysteriously pops up and joins everyone for this depressing moment.

"Let's get back into the car and let me take you to the hospital." Leslie says.

"I can't get clean. I can't do that shit forever." Rue replies, her breathing starting to pick up.

"You don't have to." Cassie says randomly. "Just take it one day at a time."

(This scene makes me cry laughing every time. Cassie really thought she did something when she said that shit.😭)

I look at Cassie with a 'bitch what the fuck' face. "One day at a time? That's your best advice?" I question.

"Shut up." Maddy whispers to me.

"Hey Cass?" Rue said.

"Yeah?" Cassie replies quickly.

"I have a quick question for you." Rue says.

"What?" Cassie wonders.

"How long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs?" Rue asks.

Cassie start laughing nervously. What the fuck? I am appalled. If this is true, Cassie is so fucked up for this.

I decided to mind my damn business and take a seat next to Lexi, who seemed to be in shock just like everyone else.

"Wh-what, what, what are you talking about?" Cassie asks still nervously laughing.

"How long have you been fucking Nate?" Rue asks again.

"I'm not. What? I'm not." Cassie says.

"What are you talking about?" Maddy asks Rue.

Maddy's about to snap. That girl is scary when she's mad. If she slapped the shit out of me for simply liking Cassie, which I'm now starting to question why I ever did, then I can only imagine what she's gonna do to that poor girl.

"Oh I just, I, I saw her get into his truck, and then kiss him, and drive off. That was like, what, like, uh, a month ago." Rue answers.

Damn she knew this the entire time. A month ago was when Cassie started acting strange as fuck and it all makes sense now.

"Are you kidding me?" Maddy asks.

She looks like she's about flip this entire fucking house upside down. Cassie just looks like she's about to have a mental breakdown.

"Cass, that's like really bad." Kat says.

"Very terrible and sickening." I add.

"You're fucking Nate? Are you kidding me?" Maddy asks.

"I don't think she's kidding." I say causing Suze, Kat, and Lexi to look at me.

"I don't even know why she would say that." Cassie says about to fucking cry.

"You're lying." Maddy says her voice raising a couple notches.

"Yeah and you fucking suck at it." I say just making everything worse.

"I don't think you're helping." Lexi whispers to me.

"I know." I admit.

"Yeah, can we just table this conversation?" Suze asks trying to dismiss the obvious tension in the room.

"Okay let's go." Kat says trying to pull Maddy away from this mess.

"No, no. You expect me to stand here next to my best friend who's been lying to me about fucking my ex-boyfriend. I'm literally gonna get violent." Maddy says.

Somebody about to get they ass beat. Shortly everyone just starts yelling. Suze, Leslie, Maddy, all yelling about different things.

I don't even know what's going on anymore. I'm just as confused as Oklahoma. I still don't even know what went on that day.

"Rue, when was this?" Maddy asks.

"Right after New Years." She answered.

"You know I'm really starting to see why you didn't want me to date your daughter." I say mainly to Suze.

I see Cassie run up the steps followed by Maddy who was followed by Kat who was followed by Lexi. I thinks it's time for me to intervene. I go up the stairs after the girls.

Maddy's banging on the bathroom door screaming at Cassie to open it. "Baby stop."

I pull her away from the door and hold her so she can't go anywhere.

"I'm gonna beat her ass." Maddy says.

"I don't doubt that but you shouldn't be fighting anyway. Let karma do her job. How about we just head back home and we can deal with this later?" I suggested.

She's very much pissed off but agreed. Cassie has so much shit headed her way and none of it is good. Wait a damn minute.

Nate was the reason that she was dressing like fucking Dorothy? Dorothy turns Nate on?

That is some next level role playing right there.

I was back at the house with Maddy doing all I can to relieve her stress. It's not good for the baby and I'd be damned if Cassie is the reason something happens to my child.

Rue slipped off in the wind again but I'm sure she'd be fine. She really has nowhere else to go and I'm certain she'd pop back up soon. I give it a day at most honestly.

Maddy laid on the couch as I massaged her body. Not sexually of course but we're always bound to end up like that. A knock on the door confused the shit out of me because it was quite late.

"Just when it was getting good." Maddy whined.

I chuckle and get up to go open the door. I didn't want to believe who the fuck was on the other side or how she even figured out where the fuck I live.

"Mom?"
