Some Time Later

"Are you really reading a book?" Rue asked me.

"It's not just any book. It's about what the female body goes through during pregnancy. A lot of this shit is quite nasty honestly." I respond.

"That coma changed you. Pregnant girlfriend or not, you've never read a book in your entire life." Rue says.

"Like you have?" I chuckle.

"Fair point." She shrugs.

"I don't know. I think it's this meeting with God that she keeps talking about. She's been all spiritual and shit. I seen her ass meditating the other day." Alexa chimes in.

"It's very peaceful. But you don't know anything about peace." I reply.

"I can be peaceful." Alexa said.

"Oh yeah then why aren't you right now?" I ask with my eyes glued on to the book.

"Touché." I hear her say.

After knowing that Alexa's intentions are pure, I've started hanging around her a lot more. Maddy's kinda skeptical about it but it's not like she has anything to worry about.

Speaking of Maddy, she was out with Lexi doing who knows what. Crazy to even say that Lexi became her new best friend. She replaced Cassie for her sister.

I heard from Rue that the night of Lexi's play, Cassie caused a scene and Maddy slapped her on stage and chased her around the school. I don't know I wasn't there for obvious reasons.

What I do know is that I slapped Ash so damn hard on the back of his head when I seen him. Not saying that it's his fault but if he would've listened to Fez and I, we wouldn't have gotten shot.

I've been working out and meditating a lot since being released from the hospital. It's actually helped with my recovery.

The important thing right now though was the gender reveal party that's being held tonight. Being done and thrown by our mothers of course. Sometime during my coma, Maddy and her mom repaired their relationship.

I was low key scared as fuck to meet her mother. I mean she could've cursed me the fuck out simply because I impregnated her daughter. But she didn't.

In fact she actually likes me which surprised me. But it's a good thing. And I'm not taking that for granted.

"What are you gonna do if it's a boy?" Rue asks.

"Cry." I answer.

"And if it's a girl?" Alexa says.

"Cry harder." I reply.

The reality that I have a kid coming very soon is honestly just starting to hit me. I've been to every appointment and seen the first trimester ultrasound pictures. Honestly I ain't know what the fuck I was looking at. It was just a damn blob.

Maddy's currently in the second trimester. Which is normally when you're able to find out the gender but we didn't. Well our parents know but we don't. That's the whole purpose of the gender reveal thing.

To be more precise, she's seventeen weeks along or a week after four months. We agreed to not buy anything until we knew the gender. It's gonna make the shopping process easier.

"I'm kinda rooting for team boy. We have enough girls around here but watch me be wrong." Rue says.

I've been team boy since day one but I'm not even sure anymore. Not after reading all them damn books anyway. But I guess I'll find out tonight.

Maddy and I agreed to wear all white. It's just our way of staying neutral even though she's made it vocally clear that she wants a girl.

The front door opens and Lexi, Maddy, and Fez walk through.

"Baby why are you not dressed?" Maddy asks.

"What do you mean? It's only-" I stop to check the time on my phone. "4:17, oh shit."

It starts at five. Damn I am never organized or on time. I get off the couch to go upstairs and get ready. As mentioned, I put on white. White hoodie, jeans, and Air Forces. With a couple cuban link chains.

"You ready to go?" I ask Maddy.

"Yeah." She answers while finishing up on her makeup.

"Why you always putting that shit on your face? You look better without it." I say.

She looks at me through the mirror, light blush on her face. "You really think that?"

"Of course I do. You beautiful baby." I respond.

"Thank you." Maddy says turning around to kiss me.

I exited the room to make sure that everyone else was ready as well.

"This is so cute." Maddy says looking at the blue and pink decorations.

"Mom's definitely went all out." I say referring to both of our mothers.

"Gia they got cupcakes." Rue says excitedly pulling Gia along with her.

"Ma what is all this?" I ask approaching her.

"A gender reveal party obviously. This might be my only chance to enjoy this. I have no hope for Alexa." She responds whispering the last part.

"I heard that." Alexa says slightly offended.

"She didn't mean it. But be for real, you ever gonna have kids?" I ask.

"I've thought about it. I just always thought it'd be with you." She answers saying the last part to where only I can hear.

I coughed awkwardly. "I'm gonna go find my woman."

I walk away from her and my mom in search of Maddy. "Yo bro?" Jaden calls.

"What nigga?" I respond.

"I got this dm from a dude who say he works at Atlantic." He starts.

"The record label?" I ask confused.

"Yeah. Apparently someone over there seen our music video of Did Shit To Me and some of your other songs. They tried reaching out to you but yo weird ass ain't got social media. I think they tryna sign you." Jaden finishes.

I've never even thought about taking this shit that serious. At first I did it cause it kept me out of trouble every now and then. But the type of music I chose to make got used against me in past cases so I stopped.

Then I started making music again cause it was fun but it's not like I imagined a career out of it. But this might be a good idea. All the money I make comes from selling drugs and robbing.

I know the feds watching me extra hard after what happened at Fez place. So this would be a way for legal money to come in or at least a good cover up.

"I think you should do it." Bobby says.

"Hit 'em back. Let's negotiate a deal." I reply.

"Oh shit. This nigga about to be the next superstar." AJ says.

"I wouldn't take it that far." I chuckle.

I step away from them and walk over to Maddy who's in a conversation with Kat, Lexi, and BB.

"Hey princess you ready to start?" I ask.

She nods and grabs my hand. Let's figure this out.

After many gender reveal games, most consisting of what our guess is and some to throw us completely off, it was now time for the actual reveal.

"So y'all kept it simple like confetti in balloons type shit right?" I asked the mothers.

"Simple? Child no, we went big. Smoke bombs and fireworks big." My mom answered.

"What she said." Maddy's mom laughs.

They had it set up so that the smoke bombs would go off as the same time as the fireworks. I sat back in the chair with Maddy on my lap as I lightly rubbed her stomach.

"I love you." She whispered in my ear.

"I love you too." I smiled at her.

"Y'all are so cute." Kat says.

The smoke started off white and the fireworks flashed many different colors. Maddy and I stood up to get a better view of everything.

About twenty seconds later the smoke bombs soon turned pink as well as the fireworks. We're having a girl.

The boys started shooting me with water guns that I'm assuming had pink paint inside them. "Oh shit." I laugh.

The baby may not be a boy but no matter what I'm still happy as fuck. I took off my paint covered hoodie leaving me in a white t-shirt.

"Man that shit better be washable." I say.

"Baby we're having a girl. I knew it." Maddy cries in joy.

"You got your wish. Maybe the boy will come next." I say wiping her tears away.

"You want more kids?" She asked me.

"Just a boy. Two kids is it for me. Now let's talk baby names." I respond.

The rest of the party consisted of fun vibes, good food, and baby name talk. I was happy with the family I was creating and the family that was already here.

Nothing could tear this apart.

I need some drama ideas. Like BIG drama. Something that involves either Alexa, Chloe or even Cassie.

I'm not gonna add it in now probably in a couple chapters or so.
