Ch 54

Day three of the training camp came and went with all of the students training hard to improve. After training for the day was done they made dinner like they did the day before. They all then got cleaned up. What came next was different though.
When the night finally set in the camp teachers got all of the students gathered up. They then began to explain to them that they would be doing a special night training drill. The students of one class will walk in pairs with another student through the woods to try and retrieve there name tags. As they go through the students from the other class will do there best to scare them.
A lot of the students got excited for this test of courage. Unfortunately the students that were most excited for it ended up not being able to participate in the test. Instead they had to go with Aizawa and Vlad to study.
Because of this the students were left with an odd number. This meant that on of them would have to go in alone. While something like this would normally be decided by chance, Pixie-Bob made sure it wasn't. She made sure that it was Izuku who ended up alone.

Pixie-Bob: it looks like there's no one left to go with you. If you want though I could go in as your partner.

Izuku: I'll be fine.

Pixie-Bob: what?

Izuku: I can do this myself.

Pixie-Bob just dropped her head in defeat as Izuku walked away. She prepared to have Izuku all to herself. What she didn't prepare for is Izuku being ok with going in alone.
After awhile it was finally Izuku's turn to had in. As he went through the forest he walked without even the slightest hint of fear. Izuku had already faced his fears before, a bunch of kids weren't going to be able to scare him. It also didn't help that the students of class 1B were being way to loud to sneak up on him. He always heard them coming.
Izuku eventually grabbed his tag and began to make his way back. As he was though he began to smell smoke, a lot of smoke. A lot of smoke in the woods is never a good sign.

Izuku mind: fire!

Izuku began to try and gather all of the class 1B students that he came across and get them back to camp. As he did a faint smell of gas whipped past him. This confused Izuku as there was no gas tanks or anything like that out this far.

Izuku mind: first fire, then gas, there is definitely more to what's going on here.

Hurrying and getting back to the others with the students he had was priority one. Once they got back though Izuku learned what was happening. Villains have come and attacked the camp. Izuku was about to run back into the woods to help but stopped when he heard Mandalay calling for Kota.
Kota was still in the woods. The villains were attacking and he was out there. It also looked like no one knew where he was. No one except Izuku. With a new priority Izuku took off.

Izuku mind: hang on Kota I'm coming.

Kota POV

Kota had gone back to his usual spot on the cliff side overlooking the forest. When his parents died he came to live with the wild wild pussycats. Ever since then he has come out here to think. The thoughts were mostly about his parents and how the heroes took them from him, along with the villains.
Tonight was different though. Neither heroes nor villains came to his mind. While his parents were always on his mind they weren't the focus right now. The focus was instead on Izuku and what he talked to Kota about.

Kota mind: why does he want to help me? Is it because he's a hero in training or does he really understand me? Why, why does he want to help me?

As Kota was deep in thought he didn't notice the hulking tower of a man walking up from behind him. When he finally did notice though fear shot threw him. Kota knew who the man in front of him was. It was him, the villain known as Muscular, the villain that killed his parents.

Muscular: hey kid, you don't by any chance know a Bakugou do you?

Izuku POV

Izuku ran up the trail on the side of the cliff face as fast as he could. Moving at peak human speeds he was determined to make sure Kota was safe. As Izuku got closer to Kota's location he began to hear voices.
There were two voices just around the corner up ahead. One was a man's voice, the other was definitely Kota's. Izuku could tell however that Kota's voice had fear in it. Thinking quickly Izuku began to climb the side of the cliff face in order to gain an advantage.

Izuku mind: the man with Kota is most likely a villain given the fear in Kota's voice. I don't have any of my tools so I'll have to rely on my skill. The villain will no doubtably have a quirk and since I don't know what it is I'll need to end this fight quickly.

After climbing to the top of the rock face Izuku began to sneak around behind the man. As he got into position Izuku noticed that the villain was about to attack Kota. With no time left to prepare Izuku leapt off of the ledge.
As he came down Izuku slammed his foot into the top of the villains head. This caused the man to hit the ground face first as Izuku summer salted away. Landing Izuku ran to Kota.

Izuku: are you alright?

Kota: what are you doing here?

Izuku: I'm here to make sure you're ok.

As Izuku was checking on Kota he failed to notice the villain getting back up. That was until Kota warned him. Whirling around Izuku got into a fighting stance.

Muscular: not bad kid but not good enough.

Izuku: give up now before you get hurt.

Muscular: you don't realize it yet but you are way to out matched for this fight.

Izuku: we'll see.
