Izuku slowly began to opened his eyes. As he did the light that was directly over his bed made him move his hand up to cover his eyes. Izuku started to sit up from the bed he was in, once up he looked around the room. Before he could think about anything he was pulled out of his thoughts by a familiar voice. Looking towards the voice Izuku saw that it was Recovery Girl.

RG: nice to see you're finally awake sunny. How do you feel?

Izuku: my body hurts a little, and I have a splitting headache.

RG: well all of that will go away in time. My latest test show that you have recovered enough to go home.

Izuku: thank you.

RG: just doing my job.

Izuku: before you go I need to know. Did I lose my fight with Todoroki.

RG: yes, and no.

Izuku confused by the answer Recovery Girl gave him lade his head back down on the bed and tried to remember all that happened in the fight.

Before the Fight

Izuku just left the 1A locker room and started to make his way down the halls to get to the arena. As Izuku was walking down the halls he was thinking of how he was going to help Shoto. The idea that Izuku came up with was stupid and was most likely going to get him hurt. Izuku knew how strong Shoto was with just his ice, so the fact that his plan sort of handicaps himself made it even dumber. As Izuku was about to turn the corner he heard talking. From the voices Izuku could tell that one of them was Bakugou, but he didn't know who the other one was. Izuku peeked around the corner and so that the other one talking to Bakugou was Endeavor the number 2 hero. Izuku was curious as to what the number 2 hero wanted with Bakugou because if he remembered correctly Endeavor was a huge asshole that didn't care about anyone.

Endeavor: I have been watching you during this hole festival, and I can see you are powerful.

Bakugou: no shit I already knew that.

Endeavor: right well the reason I wanted to talk to you is because I need your help.

Bakugou: help, help with what.

Endeavor: my son, he refuses to us his fire quirk. I believe that if you push him far enough you could get him to see that he needs his fire side.

Izuku had had enough, from the way this conversation was he could make a good guess of wear it was going. Izuku walk out from around the corner and began to make his way down the hall. Izuku made his way past the two in the hallway not sparing a glance. But as he was walking past he could feel Endeavor watching him. Izuku feeling this shot Endeavor a quick look with his eyes, that quick look however could stop a charging lion in its tracks. Izuku eventually turned to corner of the hallway and continued on towards the stadium.
Once there Izuku stopped at the entrance and waited for the current match to be over. As Izuku was waiting there he began to hear footsteps coming up behind him. The foot steps got closer and closer till the stopped right beside Izuku reviling that the foot steps were belonged to Shoto.

Izuku: Todoroki.

Shoto: Midoriya.

Izuku: still refusing to use your quirk to its fullest?

Shoto: I will not us his power.

Izuku: so that's a yes then. Well this is probably going to hurt then.

Shoto: you think that just because I only use my ice that this will be an easy win for you.

Izuku: that's not exactly what I meant.

Shoto: it doesn't mater because I will win this fight.

After that the current fight ended and Present Mic began to call us to the arena. First he called Shoto then after doing what Present Mic does he called Izuku. Once Izuku and Shoto wear in the arena you could feel the tension in the air. Before people thought that this would be an easy win for the son of Endeavor considering how all his other fights went. Since Izuku didn't have a quirk non of the fans in the stadium believed that he could win. But seeing the tension between the two conpeteters, some of the people in the audience started to wonder if Todoroki was going to have an easy win or not.

Nemuri mind: the tension between these two is intense. I better get this fight started before they decided to start it themselves.

Nemuri then made her way to the center of the arena.

Nemuri: ok are you to ready to begin.

Nemuri looked over to Todoroki first to get a confirmation from him and he gave her a nod saying he was ready. Then Nemuri looked over to Izuku to get an answer from him but what she saw she was no expecting at all.

Nemuri mind: what is he...

PM: what is this? Is Izuku Midoriya real going to fight Shoto Todoroki like this?

Shoto: what are you doing?

Izuku: it's simple to understand Todoroki.

Izuku finished taking off his utility belt and threw it to the side out of the arena.

Izuku: if you won't use your full power against me. Then I will also have a handicap.

Shoto: are you stupid, without your gadgets you can't beat me.

Izuku: and without your fire you can never be a great hero.

Shoto: fine but You asked for this. It doesn't matter though because this fight will be over with quickly.

Nemuri: are you sure about this Midoriya, you still have time to change your mind.

Izuku: I'm sure.

Nemuri mind: this is going to be bad.

Nemuri: alright let the match.

Nemuri held up her whip then quickly dropped it down.

Nemuri: begin!!!

As soon as Midnight yelled for the match to start, Shoto stomped his foot on the ground and shot a giant pillar of ice at Izuku. Everyone thought that it was another quick victory for the son of Endeavor. No one saw Izuku move out of the way of the attack. Shoto began to make his way towards the glacier in melt it and get Izuku out.

Shoto: I told you it was going to be over quick.

As he was doing this Nemuri was about to call the fight.

Nemuri: and the winner is.....

However she was cut off by Izuku appearing out of nowhere right in front of Shoto. When Izuku appeared he proceeded to hit Shoto in the stomach with a powerful upper cut. This punch was strong enough that Todoroki stumbled backwards from the hit before collapsing to his knees.

Izuku: maybe you should make sure that you truly have the victory before you let your guard down.

Everyone in the audience was shocked at what the just saw. For the first time in the fighting tournament Shoto took a hit and went down. Not only that but the fact that a supposedly quirkless boy was able to appear out of nowhere and do it.

Nemuri mind: he's quirkless, how was he able to do that.

PM: what is happening? was Midoriya being quirkless not true? Did he manifest one not to long ago? What's going on?

Aizawa: would you be quite. It's not a quirk it's a technique that he picked up awhile back.

Rabbit girl: that was a powerful punch he threw. So the kid isn't all brains.

Shoto: don't think you've one from just one hit.

Izuku: are you ready to use your fire side.

Shoto: never.

Shoto then got his left foot up and shot a wave of ice pillars at Izuku. Seeing this Izuku barrel rolled to the side a disappeared again. When this happened Shoto tried to get to his feet fast but was stopped Izuku reappearing and doing a push kick to the side of his face. This attack from Izuku sent Shoto skidding a few feet across the arena. Izuku disappeared again but this time Shoto slammed his foot in the ground and caused ice to form all around him. Doing this caused Izuku to reappear and jump backwards. As he did Shoto sent and ice pillar slamming into izuku's stomach sending him flying back. Izuku hit the ground and rolled to his feet.

Shoto: I figured out all your ticks now.

Izuku: I wouldn't be to sure about that.

Izuku the charged straight at Shoto. Shoto seeinthis decided to send another ice pillar to hit Izuku again. But when Shoto did this Izuku put his hands on the pillar and did a front hand spring over it. Izuku then continued his flip till he was in position, when he was he preformed a double leg kick into Shoto's chest. Izuku then landed on his feet while Shoto landed on his back. Izuku walked up and stood over Shoto.

Izuku: are you ready to use your fire?

Shoto: no I will not use his quirk.

Izuku: and there's your problem.

Shoto: what?

Izuku: you keep saying it's his quirk or it's your moms quirk but it's not. If it was your dad quirk then he would only be able to use fire on his left and ice on his right but he can't. Your quirk is fire and ice, not just fire and not just ice. Not your moms quirk and not your dads. It your Shoto, yours and yours alone.

This caused Shoto to have a flashback to his mom and how she told him to be true to his self and that it was ok to use his power. After remembering what his mother said to him, Shoto's left side ignited into powerful flames. It was hot enough the Izuku had to jump back to avoid getting hurt from the heat alone.

Izuku mind: it's about time, although I am starting to regret this.

Shoto then got to his feet and turned towards Izuku before speaking.

Shoto: just remember Midoriya, you asked for this.

Izuku mind: yup really regretting this now.

Shoto then charged up a powerful attack and aimed it at Izuku.

Izuku: oh shit!

Izuku Then turned and ran towards one of Todoroki's ice pillars to use it as cover. Shoto was about to fire off his attack but before he did Cementoss started to make concrete walls in between him and Izuku.

Cementoss: Midnight he'll kill Midoriya with that attack!

Nemuri: put up some barriers between them!

Cementoss: to late!

Shoto then fired his attack causing a huge explosion, one strong enough to break the pillar Izuku was behind and send him flying. The explosion caused dirt and debris to fill the air blocking everyone's vision.

Cementoss: Midnight do you see them?

Nemuri: not with all this dirt.

The dirt started to settle down and everyone could start to see the silhouette of the two students and it looks like they are both in the ring. The first to become fully clear was Shoto.

Shoto mind: from the betting I took from Izuku and the energy I used in that attack, I am completely drained of energy.

Izuku started to come into view next, but the sight of his state horrified everyone. When the pillar Izuku was hiding behind got destroyed Izuku was thrown back into another pillar, but when he hit an ice shard went through the upper right corner of his chest and now he just hung there.

Nemuri: oh God get the medical bots now!

Before the medical bots came though Izuku did what no one thought he would. Izuku broke the ice shard that was in his chest and fell to the ground to his hand and knees. Izuku continued to shock everyone as he got up and began to make his way towards Todoroki. Izuku held his wound and dragged his feet as he walked, but his eyes are what caught Todoroki's attention. Izuku's eyes said that he was ready to continue the fight even if his body wasn't. At that point Shoto saw Izuku as less of a man and more a force of nature. Izuku's advance towards Shoto didn't last long as when he got with in 8 feet of him Izuku collapsed onto the ground unconscious. At that point the medical bots arrived and took Izuku to Recovery Girl.

Back to the present

Izuku: I remember now.

RG: yes you lost the match, but you won in getting the Todoroki boy to finally use his quirk to it's fullest extent.

Izuku: well that good, I'm glad I exceeded in doing that at least.

RG: you also exceeded in coming up with the stupidest plan in the history of this school.

Izuku: haha sorry.

RG: what ever, your healed up so you can leave and go back to the dorms.

Izuku: yes ma'am.

Apparently the transported Izuku back to the nurses office back at the school, so Izuku doesn't have that long of a walk back to the dorms. Izuku made it out of the school and began to go to the dorms.

Izuku mind: what a day.

???: hey handsome.

Izuku: what?

Izuku turned around and the person he so was not who he expected.

Izuku: Mt Lady?
