Izuku POV

Today's the day of the ua sports festival. I remember being young and watching this with my dad dreaming to one day get to compete too. It seems like a life time ago and now look at me, but without him here it seems bitter sweet. But I can't think like that right now I have to concentrate on winning, not just for my dad but for my too. If I win then I have a better chance of getting scouted and trained by the best and that will make me better.
The competition already knows I'm quirkless, and that is exactly what I want. They won't see me as a threat and not focus on me. And with that I have a better chance at blowing past them and claiming victory.

Toru: hey Izuku it time to get going.

Izuku: right, lets do this.

Toru: yea.

Time Skip To Waiting Room
No ones POV

Everyone one of the classes at ua had there own room for them to wait in before the festival started. All the students in class 1A were currently in there's, each one doing something to prepare. Some were stretching and warming up, some were relaxing and some were try to pump them selves up. Izuku was also preparing for the tournament in his own way, Izuku was currently changing all his bat themed weapons out for there traditional versions.

Izuku mind: the jokers still out there and he was interested in me. He could be watching the sports festival training to figure out who I am and I can't have that happen for a lot of reasons. But without the mask and the bat themed gadgets he should have a hard time figuring it out.

Shoto: Midoriya.

Izuku: oh hey todoroki.

Shoto: I just came to say that it's pretty obvious that I am stronger then you in terms of power. And so I am telling you now that I will bet you and win the sports festival.

Izuku: well I have to say Todoroki that this is quite an interesting term of events. I really didn't expect this to happen, and I perfectly agree that your quirk does make you one of the most powerful in are class. But only if you were using it to it's fullest extent, but since you aren't you won't be able to bet me.

Shoto doesn't say anything after Izuku statement and just walks off. Not to long after that little confrontation Lida came bursting threw the door.

Lida: get ready 1A because it is time to get started.

With that one a along with the rest of ua's classes began to make there way out onto the field. As they walked out Present Mic announced each class as they appeared out of the tunnel. As he did Izuku quickly noticed that he gave 1A the most praise and praised the classes less and less as they came.

Izuku mind: that's definitely going to paint an even bigger target on are backs.

As the keep walking they eventually reached a stage with a podium on it. Eventually once all the classes were there Present Mic announced that Midnight and Cementoss would be the referees for the first years at the sports festival. Once Midnight got on the stage the men in the crowd went wild. Midnight gave Izuku a quick wink and then started speaking.

Nemuri: hello ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for today's event?

Crowd cheers

Nemuri: good but first some words from class 1A's representative Katsuki Bakugou.

Bakugou then made his way onto the stage and to the mic.

Bakugou: I just want to say I'm going to win.

With that the students went nuts claiming that he was full of himself and that we was a asshole who was going to lose.

Izuku mind: lets now make that already big target even bigger.

Nemuri: ok with that lets see what the first event is shall we.

A big spinning wheel the appeared on the big monitor. The wheel keep spinning and spinning till it finally stopped showing the first event.

Nemuri: the first event shall be an obstacle course. Students will race each other around the out side of the stadium will avoiding the obstacles ua has put in your path. Now head to the starting line and good luck to you all.

All the students made there way to the starting line, once everyone was ready Present Mic began the countdown.

PM: all right is everybody ready, good now 3, 2, 1, gooooo!!!!!!

With the announcement for the race to begin all the students took off threw the tunnel that leads to the out side of the stadium. But the more the students pushed and fought in the tunnel to get ahead of one another the more Izuku started to realize that this wasn't guest an exit, it was the first obstacle for them to face.

Izuku mind: the tunnel, it's getting smaller as we go. There trying to bottle neck us to make it harder for us to get out. No one is willing to let anyone go ahead of them making them all fight to get out which makes getting out even harder.

At that moment Izuku started to feel the temperature in the tunnel begin to drop at an unnaturally fast rate.

Izuku mind: someone is most likely using a freezing quirk and I have a pretty good idea who. Oh shit!

At that moment Izuku could see the floor start to freeze trapping everyone's feet. Thinking fast Izuku pulled out his grappling gun and shot a cable to the top of the exit of the building. With the cable attached Izuku then repealed himself out of the tunnel landing on the ground preforming a forward shoulder roll back to his feet and keep on running.

Izuku mind: obstacle 1 done now on to the next obstacle holy shit!

As Izuku was running making his way around the stadium so he could get to the next obstacle. He saw what looked to be giant robots. He was certain that that was the next obstacle because he doubted that ua would spend a crap tone of money on a bunch of 10 story tall robotic lone ornaments.

Izuku: I am definitely going to need a bigger batbomb for those things.

Izuku knew he had nothing in his utility belt that could handle those robots but he also knew that if he stopped he would fall behind. So against his better judgment Izuku kept running planing on just powering through the obstacle. A lot of the students froze up and stopped running ether in fear or intimidation of the giant hunks of metaling front of them. However some of the students like Izuku kept going, particularly the two just ahead of him. One of the students Izuku could tell was Shoto, but he didn't know who the girl with the green vine like hair was.
As the three where drawing closer to the first robot Izuku not Shoto stopping.

Izuku: what is he doing?

Right as Izuku said this Shoto decided to freeze the robot before continuing to run through. Just behind Shoto was the girl with the green vine hair, a lot of the other students also saw this as an opening to get through too. Izuku on the other hand noticed the ice begin to crack before everyone else did. Then right as the girl with the green vine hair was under the robot it started to crack more and fall.

Izuku: she's going to be crushed!!!

Izuku then sprinted towards the now petrified girl to save her from being crushed. As everyone in the stadium was watching, they new that something bad was about to happen. The teachers knew it too, they new that ether one of there students was about to be crushed. All Might was watching this and was about to step in until he saw Izuku come into view on the camera sprinting towards the girl. Izuku jumped to the girl as the robot came down, when it hit there was a cloud of dust that blocked the view of the camera. The crowd was silent, at first they thought the were about to see one death but now the may have just seen too. The teachers and heroes were about to rush out until the dust started to clear. As it did you could see a shadow, once the dust was pretty much gone Izuku could be seen holding the girl while using his body as a shield from debris just inches away from the robot.
As the crowd saw this they erupted into cheers, while the teachers let out a sigh of relief. Everyone in Japan just saw what Izuku did. Civilians now are paying more attention to him, while heroes are now thinking of offering him an internship at their hero agency. There was one hero that looked a lot like a rabbit sitting in at her agency watching what Izuku just did.

???: well that was something, let's see what else you can do.

Back with Izuku he was relieved that he made it to the girl just in time. Izuku needed to get going again but before he did he needed to make sure the girl was ok first.

Izuku: hey are you ok? You're not hurt are you?

???: what? No I don't think so.

Izuku: good. Now if you need to rest some more go ahead and do it, I'm going to go on ahead ok.

???: um ok.

Izuku: ok see you later, and good luck with the sports festival.

The girl tried to tell Izuku thank you for saving her but he was gone before she could even get a word out.

???: thank you lord for sending me a garden angel in the form of a fellow student to help me.

As Izuku continued on with the rest of the obstacle course one thing or should I say one person was on his mind.

Izuku: damn you Todoroki you plaid on that robot to fall to block the path behind you. Is winning really so important to you that you would put others in danger.

So far Shoto is in the lead of this race but Izuku isn't to far behind him. Shoto eventually reaches the 3rd obstacle in this race. As he is about half way through it he turns back to see Izuku at the start of the 3rd obstacle.

Shoto: his fast, if I don't hurry he will definitely catch up to me.

As Izuku reached the 3rd obstacle he say that it was a huge canyon like course were the only way to get across is pillar like rock structures with tightropes connecting them together. But that's not all Izuku also spotted Shoto already half way across to obstacle. No matter what he thought of Todoroki right now he had to admit he was good.

Izuku: dame he's fast. I was right not to underestimate him.

Izuku then started to walk on the tightrope at an impressively fast pace. But as he was someone came rocketing past him.

Bakugou: out of my way bastard.

Izuku: oh Bakugou I was wondering were you were at.

Bakugou: no more falling behind you two. I am going to be first in the race.

Izuku: we'll see about that.

No the race was on, not just between Izuku and Bakugou but also a race to bet Shoto. As the Izuku and Bakugou reached the last obstacle the land mines all three of them slowed down. Shoto was still in first, followed by Bakugou that managed to pull ahead during the canyon course.

Izuku mind: dame it at this rate I'm going to lose. Think Izuku how can you win.

As Izuku was thinking the crowd was going nuts. The were shore that the sun of Endeavor would win this but they wanted to see who would come second or third.

PM: looks like Shoto is starting to pull ahead, fallowed by Bakugou in second and Midoriya in third. Do you got anything to comment on Aizawa.

Aizawa: just that there is still a lot of race to go and to not count any of the students out yet.

Toga: come on Izu you can do it.

Inko: be carful sweetly.

???: lets see if you can do it kid.

Izuku: I got it.

PM: what's this. Izuku seems to be planning something. Let's hope it works out for him.

Everyone watched as Izuku pulled out a rope with 2 weighs attached to each end. At first Izuku didn't do anything with it, this confused a lot of the people watching.

PM: well is he going to do something or what?

Aizawa: just be patient, Midoriya is waiting for the right moment to strike.

At that moment Izuku stopped moving and started spinning the rope in a lasso like motion. As this was happening Shoto and Bakugou were fighting for first not paying attention to Izuku at all. Bakugou then lunges at Shoto shoulder checking him, this was the moment Izuku was waiting for. The both of them were finally close enough, Izuku then threw the rope at them. As the rope flew there the air heading towards Shoto and Bakugou took off again. Once the rope reached the two oblivious boys, it rapped around both of there legs tying them together and making them fall. When the two fell they hit a bunch of land mines causing them to get blown into the air allowing Izuku the chance to take first.

PM: amazing ladies and gentlemen. In one move Midoriya has managed to take the lead.

(Crowd cheering)

Toga: go Izu!

Inko: that's my baby boy!

???: it looks like the kid has a few ticks up his sleeve.

Nemuri: yes Izuku!

Cementoss: you know the referee isn't supposed to choose favorites.

Nemuri: (rubbing the back of her head) sorry.

The race wasn't over yet though as Izuku's plane only stalled them for a minute. Shoto seeing that Izuku got threw the mine field made a sheet of ice to run on to. Bakugou launched himself into the air over the mine field.

Bakugou mind: I won't lose to you again nerd!

Shoto mind: I have to win this to prove to my father that I don't need his power.

Izuku mind: I can not lose. I will win this so I can keep my promise father.

Little did the three of them know but the sports festival just stopped being a game and turned into a battle of ideologies. The only way to win this is to see who comes out on to in the end. And the only why to do that is to see who's will is stronger.

PM: it's going to be close. The three are neck in neck. Who is it going to be ladies and gentlemen.

Izuku mind: victory will bring me one step closer to being able to keep my promise.

Shoto mind: victory will help prove to my father that I don't need him.

Bakugou mind: victory will show them all that I'm the best there is.

PM: here they come!

PM: who's going to win?

PM: and the winner is?

The finish line broke and the crowd was shocked. For the first time in ua sports history.

PM: amazing ladies and gentlemen we have for the first time ever a 3 way tie.

The crowd went wild.

Izuku/ Bakugou/ Shoto mind: this fight isn't over yet!
