"Should I tell them to return?"….

He heard all the voices but he was too confused to answer. He waited a little more and when heard the steps of the man going out opened his eyes. He was in his room, probably, if what he could remember was reality, the man said his generals are waiting for him so what he remembers must be reality, then the other things could only be a dream, such a strange dream.
"Promise me Dong Hua, promise me you will wait for me" he could hear the voice in his mind clearly, and the face of the girl, he could see it like she was here, was she just a dream? Then what was the pain of his heart? And why he must have this dream today of all the days, maybe it was his unconsciousness trying to tell him to change his mind!
He stood up and put his outer robe on, he looked at it and saw the purple color, well he wore the same color in his dreams too!
He called for his steward and asked who was waiting for him?
"High god Mo Yan and high god Zhe Yan are present right now"
"Let them in" said Dong Hua and walked to his study.
"Yes your majesty"
The two young generals walked in the room by Dong Hua's permission and called "Your majesty” while bowing deeply, Dong Hua was sitting on one side of the table and offered the other side to men. They waited in silence until tea was served and they were alone to give their reports, nothing new, it was all about the battles, murders, burning villages like the past thousands of years, this was what life was for more than enough and it was the reason Dong Hua eagerly searched for a final solution. 
There is always a balance in the world, if you want something of the universe you have to give it something in return, they can fight for much longer, sacrifice lots of lives in between and of course every single person will suffer uneasiness of minds and soul until they reach the peace someday in future, or he can burden the necessity of sacrifice and lives, he can offer his line of blood, all the future generation of his name and burden the loneliness and meaningless of life for an eternity instead of all others; and this was what he was about to make it real this very day, but the voice in his head…
When he made his decision he only thought about himself, he thought he is offering his own life and bloodline, his anticipation was that since he has no wife right now then erasing his name only remove his chance of marriage and not an unknown lady in the next generation, he didn't saw it like sacrificing their fate and dragging someone else in his choice, how he missed such a possibility?
Zhe Yan found Dong Hua strange, he seemed absent minded and that was very new: your majesty what we should do from now on?
Dong Hua knew he meant their plan with the rock of three incarnations, but ignored it and instead asked where Bai Zhe is.
"Oh his second child was born yesterday, he must be with his wife?"
"Shouldn't you be there then?" Mo Yan asked in a hurry.
Zhe Yan looked to Dong Hua for instruction, "join them, we can't effort the power of fox blood in other side"
The blood of a nine tails fox is very powerful, so obviously there are so many after it, and when a fox is in her most vulnerable way when she gives birth, not to mention the newly born fox. Zhe Yan nodded and stood up to join his friend in his home.
"By the way what is their child?" Mo Yan asked.
Zhe Yan: "it's a boy, they name him Bai Yi"
Dong Hua looked up in astonishment but didn't say anything. Mo Yan waited till Zhe Yan left then asked what they were going to do: "I got some new information, postponed the issue for now" Dong Hua answered, the name of Bai Yi bold in his mind.
"Yes, your majesty" Mo Yan said and finished his tea in silence.

He was staring at the rock, the pieces of puzzle jumping up and down in his mind. There was no way for him to know the name of the new fox by his own, he was the second son too. The girl in his dream was the granddaughter of the fox king and daughter of Bai Yi, the second son of the fox clan… 
"But you have to promise me if you are ever born again you have no right to make that choice" he gave the girl his words. If what he saw was just a dream definitely it's not worth the trouble but if it was from another life, or a scene of the future, then he can't make the girl suffer again, the hardship they experience was more than enough. 
What is reality and what is not…
"I will not be this patient and knowledgeable the next time" by the look in her eyes she meant what she said, can he risk her words?
He calculated what he will lose and what he will get, until yesterday it was the peace instead of the possibility of a love life, it was worth it; but today, it was the peace instead of her, is it still a good trade?
He remembered the feelings of the last second when he had her in his arms and had to put the dagger in her heart, he can't do this again, he can't risk the probability of doing this again.
He also remembered her sad smiles every time that she helped with other's love life, "not as impossible as us"...  the feelings of having her in his arms in her fox form, the softness of her tails and her laughs before she found out about the rock, all the images replayed in his mind.
"Promise me Dong Hua, promise me you will wait for me, you will do all you can to secure the world but not by sacrificing our faith" he recalled her other wish and finally gave in, he sighed deeply and murmured: "ok little fox, you won"
“If I will be reborn ever again I will wait for you to join me little fox.” He remembered his own words too, well there is no insurance about what this is, is it reincarnation or a duplicated world or nothing of this kind at all but he decided to not risk losing her, he will reach peace with his name on the rock.
"I will wait for you little fox" he whispered with a rare smile on his lips, then put his two fingers on the side of his temple and erased the memories of the dream, and instead gave himself two instructions: "don't erase your name from the rock of three incarnations, and remember it has some important connection with fox clan and more of all with Bai Yi, protect them.
