Chapter 19

"Surprise & Decision"

There was silence in the room, the girl, without even looking at her parents, put on her shoes, took her things and left. Leaving the two adults to themselves and their thoughts.

Sakura couldn't believe what she heard, she felt the pressure in her chest, her legs could not bear it and she fell on her knees crying. Sasuke was still staring at the place where his daughter was standing, he was shocked by what he heard, what she said.

Neither of them spoke to each other, the morning passed in awkward silence and in the pleasant space they had left for themselves, neither approached each other. They began to realize how much they fucked up each other's life, but also their only daughter's life.

A leisurely walk through the forest was the only thing that calmed Sarada, but also made her feel guilty. 'I shouldn't have said that.' She mentally scolded herself for what she said to her parents. She knew that when she returned home, she would apologize to them immediately, she felt bad about it.

It was noticed by her travel companion who looked at the girl questioningly, stopping at the clearing in front of the house. Sarada didn't notice that he stopped and bounced off his back, and didn't fall. "Boruto, what was that-" "Say, what's wrong?" The question surprised the black-haired girl, she lowered her head not wanting to show her pathetic expression on her face. "I... said what I thought about them, it was under the influence of emotions and..." her voice was soft, faded in the sounds of birds singing happily. "I just feel bad about it." she said finally, louder than before.

The blonde looked at her with understanding. "Do you feel guilty?" she didn't answer, just nodded her head in the affirmative. "You know, I've said a little too much lately too..." he said, wanting to somehow comfort the girl, Sarada raised her head slowly and looked at him questioningly. "I was angry with my father and the emotions took over, but unlike your parents, my father didn't owe me and he himself uttered words that I didn't think I would hear from him."

There was a silence between the two friends, Sarada didn't know what to say or whether she should speak at all, and Boruto just needed a short while to collect his thoughts. The truth is, he was still thinking about what his father had called him back then in the office. "Anyway, I'm sure they're waiting for us." he said and they both entered the house at last.

To their surprise, in the living room, they found Saruto smiling, talking to a snake-like man they knew, Orochimaru, who had a smile on his lips, and Minato, who cuddled up to a woman, Karin. "What are they doing here?" asked, concerned about the lack of information about the visitors, Boruto. Menma, who was standing next to him, looked at the scene in front of them and turned towards his half-siblings. "Well, apparently, they managed to finish a project they've been working on for several years. So you can assume that they have decided to go home. " Boruto was even more confused now than before. 'Why would they call this place home?'

"Sorry, but you could somehow... I don't know, explain, because I don't understand." the black-haired teen rolled his eyes and wondered for a moment if he had said it in another language that they didn't understand. "Aunt Karin is Okaa-san's cousin, and Uncle Orochi is... a friend, is it? Besides, they are our godparents." Well that was unexpected information and it wasn't the end of surprises. "Alright, Karin and you goddamn snake can bother them a little later." suddenly Naruto entered the room. The way he named the black-haired man made three teenagers laugh.

After a while, the two of them left, leaving the children alone with Naruto. The five of them stood in front of the blond-haired man, who stood looking at them one by one with a serious face. "As I said, I have a surprise for you." he started making sure everyone was listening to him. "For some reason Himawari and Kawaki were the first to know." This was met with outrage from Boruto and Menma. But before they could shout anything, the oldest of the children present spoke up. "Remember that Himawari and Kawaki went to Konoha today? They were supposed to spend time with your grandfather, Boruto."

"Anyway, I want you guys to say hi to your uncle Itachi." At the words spoken by the blonde, a black-haired man entered the room. Itachi looked different than when they were in Orochimaru's hidden laboratory. He was wearing a dark gray, almost black kimono tied with a wide red belt and loose denim pants rolled up to the knee. His long black hair hung loosely untied.

Saruto and Menma looked at the man in disbelief. Their beloved uncle stood right in front of them, tears welling up in their eyes and then streaming down their cheeks. Both boys ran up to the man and hugged him tightly, almost losing their balance. The blonde with a smile moved away and looked at the scene that was taking place in front of him. Minato looked at incomprehension at what was happening, he did not know why his brothers were crying or who this man was. Instead, he cuddled up to his 'mother' hiding gently behind him. Naruto just stroked his head, knowing that he would have to explain it to him somehow. Boruto and Sarada looked at the situation, not sure what to do or how to speak, for the blonde it was a stranger, and for the girl it was a deceased relative, her father's brother.

After about 10 minutes, Menma and Saruto finished crying and fell asleep, tired of the excess of emotions. Minato, not knowing and afraid of the man, hugged Boruto and held on to him all the time. Meanwhile, Naruto had to leave them to discuss something with Karin, leaving the three children alone with the man. Itachi sat smiling as the two oldest children of his brother hugged him, the other three sat hesitant opposite.

"The two of you must be Naruto and Sasuke's children from different relationships. My name is Itachi and I am Sasuke's older brother. " Itachi said finally, trying to break the awkward silence they were surrounded by. "I guess you must be Himawari's big brother." He turned his eyes to the blond, looked at him for a moment, finding that he looked like a copy of his father. "T-that's right." he replied softly, it was so awkward. "And you are the daughter of Sasuke and..." to tell the truth, he couldn't find a suitable woman to marry his brother, mainly because he had never seen any woman beside his brother, except Karin.

"Sakura, my mother is Sakura Uchiha Haruno." she replied, realizing that the man before her had a problem. It didn't surprise her too much, in the end she looked like a copy of her father, just like Boruto. 'Ah, that pink-haired girl!' He thought, recalling the appearance of a girl, who was probably now a beautiful woman. He smiled at the thought of her, she was the only one except Naruto who believed in his stupid little brother. "So you must be Minato," he directed his attention to the youngest of them all, only... he didn't get any answer.

"I have to admit I'm a bit jealous of your mother, Boruto. About my little brother too. " he said with a smile, it was not forced or fake. Itachi was really glad to be alive again, to be able to meet his brother again, even if he didn't like what he did. "Why?" Boruto asked, not quite understanding. "Because such a good and kind person like Naruto has feelings for them." Itachi didn't pay attention, but at these words Sarada lowered her head disgusted with her father, and Boruto looked away, knowing that his parents didn't love each other at all.

Neither of them spoke, not wanting to correct him or not knowing how to tell the man it wasn't true. None, except for Minato, who spoke for the first time in a long time. "Loved... Okaa-san has been hating our 'father' for years, and I also heard him say that he is going to divorce Hinata-san." the boy's words surprised the other three, Boruto lowered his head. 'You knew it would end this way, why are you surprised?' he said to himself in his mind.

Meanwhile, Naruto, Karin and Orochimaru stood in the kitchen and watched Itachi with the kids. "They seem to get along." Orochimaru said in a whisper, looking with amusement at the position in which the black-haired man was sitting. "That's good."

"Naruto, do you really want a divorce?" Karin wasn't sure how the people or the heads of other villages might react, and she didn't want her cousin to be treated worse again, but she didn't want him to live miserably either. The blonde just nodded his head in affirmation. "As for children, Himawari may be the biggest problem, mostly because of her Byakugana." sitting on the kitchen cupboard, he stared at the ceiling, for some reason he found it very interesting. "Besides..."

" I decided to accept Kakashi's offer."
