Chapter 18

"People like you disgust me."

Naruto was standing in the doorway, leaning against the door frame. With a smile on his face, he approached the bed, on which sat a black-haired man who stared at the blonde in disbelief. "Naru... to..?" he asked hesitantly, his throat signaling him not to speak. "Welcome to the world of the living."

Itachi was sitting staring at the blonde. Slowly it dawned on him that he was alive again, that he was on the Earth again, in the 'living world'. The blonde waited patiently for the man to sort it all out, and the other two just watched them. "How are you?" the blonde asked finally, stating that he had given him enough time. "Hope that this snake didn't do anything weird." the blonde's words met with the sound of resentment from the snake-like man sitting in the chair next to him. "He didn't." the red-haired woman said, receiving an indignant look from her co-worker.

"I'm still here, you know that?" he asked with mock indignation. Was he offended? No, he wasn't, he was used to being treated this way by two Uzumaki and they had no restraints in insulting him. "We don't care." they replied simultaneously, Itachi looked at it all confused, not knowing how to behave. "I'm fine." he replied, breaking the awkward situation for him, and in response he got a smile from the blonde.

"So we can finally go home?" she asked, less fascinated by the fact that the man had come to life, Karin. She was tired and wanted to finally sleep in her bed, in her room, in the house she considered her home. "Sorry, wait a moment and we will go." Naruto sent his cousin an apologetic smile, she just rolled her eyes and returned the gesture. Itachi looked slightly confused between the two. "You live together?" he finally asked.

Karin and Naruto exchanged glances, knowing that this question might be asked, and with a happy smile turned to the black-haired man in front of them. "We are cousins!"

However, not everyone was so happy, in the Uchiha clan house, the clan head and his wife were just after an unpleasant confrontation. Tension and silence prevailed in the room, Sakura could not believe what she heard, Sasuke was not able to look at her. Yet they still had no idea that their daughter had heard it all.

"You were with Naruto... and yet you proposed to me" she was disgusted, but not that her husband was with the man, her brother. No, she was disgusted with him. Sasuke had his head lowered, he didn't dare to raise it. Isn't that comical? Fear his wife's reaction when he once 'fearlessly' fought with the Gods? "Did you love him at all?" staring at the man in front of her, she had to know. Could this man love at all? He never showed it to her, and their daughter never experienced it either, so... could he?

"I loved..." he finally said, still keeping his head down. "I loved, but he wasn't able to give me the kid - or so I thought." He looked up, his gaze was averted, there was silence. Sakura needed a moment, it hurt like hell, it hurt so much. The man she had loved for years had betrayed her, betrayed his former partner, cheated, lied, and used her feelings.

"So you betrayed him... again." she said quietly, it was more directed at herself than at the black-haired man. 'What did I do... How could I be so naive!' She felt tears welling up in her eyes, she had enough. He was fed up with her husband's coldness, she was sick of his behavior, of his mock love, but at the same time she couldn't stop loving him. She felt terrible as if she wasn't herself. "We were not officially together." he spoke coolly, looking at Sakura.

"So you thought it was okay?" She looked up, saw only a man who cared nothing, no matter what he had to do, what he had to sacrifice, for him only what he wanted mattered. "You are worse than Hinata!" she screamed it in his face as rage spilled over her body.

Suddenly the doorbell rang all over the house. Both adults looked at the door in surprise as they saw their daughter running through the room, shouting something about it being to her. To their surprise, a young blond man, Boruto, was standing in the doorway. He was dressed differently, completely different. He wore a black kimono tied at the waist with a wide pink and black belt, and the sleeves were also adorned with two wide pink stripes. He wore loose-fitting jeans in the sea, one leg folded over the knee and black sandals.

"You're ready?" he asked, getting startled glances from the two adults. "Yeah, just wait a moment outside." she was excited to spend the day at home with her brothers, apparently the current Hokage had a surprise for them as well. The blond looked only at her parents and at Sarada, then nodded and left, waiting at the door.

Sarada closed behind him and her cheerful and excited attitude left her body. She didn't turn around, didn't even glance at the two adults behind her. "Sarada what had it-" he didn't finish, it was not given to him. "I have two parents, and this family is rotten to the core and so is Boruto's family." she spoke slowly, releasing the handle. The girl's words hurt them, she was right, but they hurt. "Meanwhile, my half brothers have only one parent and are much happier than me or Boruto, Kawaki or Himawari."

It was only after a while that Sakura and Sasuke realized what their daughter said. Sarada knew about the existence of three boys who are the sons of Sasuke and Naruto. What's more, they got the impression that the girl had the opportunity to meet them. "People like you disgust me."
