Chapter 26

It was now the night that the Vampire Council arrived at the hotel. Everyone including the Drac Pack, Mavis' friends, and the Loughrans were now in the ballroom waiting for the hearing to start. The ballroom now look liked a courtroom. Johnny entered the ballroom wearing his suit and tie. He saw Dracula with Mavis and the vampire councilman who visited the hotel last week.

"Good thing you wore a formal attire." Dracula was impressed that Johnny was able to wear something formal despite the fact Johnny could be a slacker sometimes.

"Just wanna make the best first impression." Johnny said while adjusting his neck tie up on his neck. Dracula gave a weak laugh from the young boy's humor. "I figured I could just roll with it."

"Aww." Mavis always loved hearing Johnny saying his motto. For her, he looked so adorable.

Johnny then trailed his eyes to Mavis, who was wearing her usual black clothing and her cape that she made for her 118th birthday.

"You look beautiful." Johnny smiled at Mavis.

"And you look very handsome." Mavis smiled back kissing Johnny on the cheek.

"Johnathan, this is a friend of mine in the Vampire Council, Marvin. He's also favored of uniting humans and monsters." Dracula said as he introduces Johnny to his friend, Marvin.

"Its a pleasure to meet you, sir." Johnny said extending his hand for a friendly handshake a little nervous.

"It is also a pleasure to you too, young man." Marvin kindly accepted Johnny's handshake. This calmed Johnny down knowing this new vampire is a friend.

Dracula and Marvin sat to their respective seats while Johnny hugged Mavis tightly and kissed her forehead deeply before the joined the others.

"Mavis, I'm crazily scared right now." Johnny whispered softly on Mavis' ear.

"I know." Mavis said softly hugging him back. With her enhance hearing, she could easily hear Johnny's heart beating fast. Mavis was nervous as well. "No matter what happens, I still love you and we're still going to get married."

Both Mavis and Johnny shared one deep passionate kiss before they went to their seats beside Dracula. They all waited for another couple of minutes for the hearing to start while Mavis and Johnny held hands for the time being until the members of the Vampire Council arrived and sat on a long table on the stage in front of the audience.

"All rise." The Vampire Council said as everyone in the room stood up from their seats. "We are here to announce that the hearing of the Vampire Council will now begin to decide the faith for both Mavis Dracula and Johnathan Loughran and in addition to wether we should open our monster world to the humans in the future." The Vampire Councilman finished his announcement before everyone sat back to their seats.

"Here we go." Johnny whispered nervously.

"Count Dracula, would you please come forward and answer the following questions?" The Vampire Councilman suggested.

"Of course, my fellow councilmen." Dracula stood up from his chair and walked towards to the Councilmen

"Is it true that the hotel was discovered by this young human?" The Vampire Councilman asked.

"Yes, Councilman." Dracula answered.

"And why would you allow the young Mr. Loughran to live in your hotel?" The Vampire Councilman asked again.

"Because Johnny is special for me and my family. He has zinged with my daughter, Mavis." Dracula told his reason to the Vampire Council then trailed on to Martha's promise. "When my wife, Martha died that faithful night. I promised her that I would always protect our only daughter from harm's way. That's why I've built this hotel for my love, to protect Mavis and the other monsters hiding in the shadows from the horrible humans back then until Johnny arrived to the hotel. He had showed me that humans have now changed for the last centuries. I believe that Johnathan and Mavis are meant to be together and taking him away would be a mistake and dishonoring Martha's wishes. I couldn't be more happier seeing my Mavy-wavy finding her zing and every monster in this hotel sees Johnny as a friend." Dracula turns around and smiled at both Mavis and Johnny, who smiled back at him. "I do hope that humans and monsters can be reunited again peacefully. That would be all. Thank you."

"Very well, Count Dracula. You may take your seat. That would be all." The Vampire Councilman stated as Dracula went back to his seat besides Mavis and Johnny. "Now may I call Mavis Dracula to come forward."

Mavis slowly got up from her chair and did what the Council told her to do. Hank, Pedro, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte tried to cheer for her before Mavis could speak up.

"Thank you, Councilmen. I really never got the chance to met my mother but if there was one thing that she taught me, is that you would only zing once in your life. I did find my zing, and that is Johnathan Loughran." Mavis said as she turns around smiling at Johnny. "Johnny is my zing and I don't care if he's human or monster but I will never give up on him and spend the rest of my life with him."

"Aww!" The crowd said and some of them were shedding tears of joy.

"Would that will be all, Ms. Dracula?" The Vampire Councilman asked.

"Yes, Councilman." Mavis replied nodding her head. Mavis sat back to her chair between Dracula and Johnny.

"Mr. Loughran, please come forward and answer the following questions." The Vampire Councilman announced.

This made Johnny very nervous and Mavis noticed it. She gently held his hand and kissed him on the cheek wiping out the nervousness inside him. Johnny smiled at Mavis for giving him the courage to speak up. Johnny step forward to the Vampire Council.

"How did you discover Hotel Transylvania in the first place?" The Vampire Councilman asked. Johnny took a deep breath before he answers.

"To be honest, I didn't know about this place before I arrived here. All I knew is that when I entered this hotel for the first time, I zinged with Mavis and I knew she was the one for me." Johnny answered which made Mavis warmly smiled at him. "I've already lost my parents and now I don't what I'm going to do with my life if going to lose Mavy as well. Mavis is my whole universe and I'll do everything to make her happy."

Every monster crowd and Johnny's family cheered for his statement about how Mavis means to him.

"How did your parents die exactly, Mr. Loughran?" The Vampire Councilman asked.

"My parents died when I was only 8 years-old. They were gunned down by a mugger right in front of me." Johnny was unhappy admitting it as he lowered his head. Brett, Kent, Melly, and Alfred also did the same way.

Every monster gasped in shock hearing how Johnny's parents were brutally murdered. Dracula had no idea that Johnny has to suffer like that as a child. On the other hand, Mavis already knew that Johnny's parents were murdered but she didn't knew HOW they died.

"I knew it! The humans has never changed ever since!" Another Councilman shouted in anger.

"Wait. That's not what I...." Johnny tried to explain but was cut off.

"We shall never reveal our existence ever again! The humans must leave now!" The third Councilman yelled out in outrage.

"No!" Dracula exclaimed.

The audience were now starting to panic, especially Johnny and Mavis. Marvin went closer to Johnny and gently puts his hand on Johnny's shoulder.

"Johnny, I think it's best if you take your sit back with Mavis. Me and Dracula will take it from here." Marvin whispered reassuring the young Loughran.

Johnny went back to his chair beside Mavis while Dracula and Marvin tried to calm down the Council. After the crowd was silenced, the Vampire Council continued to speak up.

"After hearing all of your answers, I can see that both Ms. Dracula and Mr. Loughran truly zinged and they are meant for each other." With that said, hope was given to both Johnny and Mavis but the Vampire Councilman continued to speak. "However, we still don't know if we should approve of letting the humans know our existence. Other humans out there may still be hunting our monster kind. Especially maybe the Van Helsings themselves."

"I doubt to see them again." Dracula whispered angrily from hearing that name again.

"Who're the Van Helsings?" Mavis asked wondering why her father was so mad saying that name.

"I think it's best if you shouldn't know about them." Johnny whispered. He didn't want Mavis to know much about the fearless monster hunters

Before anything, the door was smashed open as armed men entered the room shooting the entire room with silver bullets. This started to cause a huge panic in the ballroom.

"Is it the Van Helsings!?" One of the Vampire Councilman cowardly shouted thinking the infamous monster hunters has returned.

The armed goons ordered all the monsters to stay in their places or else they'll be getting a silver bullet between the eyes. Dracula went closer to Mavis and Johnny protecting them from the dangerous humans.

Johnny was aware of the armed thugs that broke in the hotel. They were all wearing clown masks and Johnny instantly knew who they were. The last man entered the room feeling he has the higher power despite being with monsters in the room.

"I think this meeting is now called to order!" The Joker entered the ballroom with his devilish grin.

"IT'S THE JOKER!" Hank yelled as he, Pedro, Wendy, Sophie, and Charlotte screamed in horror.

"Oh no!" Alfred gasped in horror.

"Joker! You son of a bitch!" Johnny whispered clenching his teeth in anger.

"Who are you humans and what do you want!" The Vampire Councilman shouted with his eyes turning to red anger but the Joker's men went up to the stage and pointed their guns at the entire council. They all knew that these men were armed with silver bullets and deadly.

"Oh we're just your... tonight's entertainment!" The Joker answered chuckling. He then went on front of the audience like he was the host. "And we are delighted to give you all a smile on your faces. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
