Acrophobia Is The Fear Of Heights

Now

POV HAWKS

"Where're we going?" I ask as I pull up a pair of black sweatpants. Dabi is leaning on the other side of the door, probably with a bored and impatient expression. I grab a black shirt and tug it on, but the wings make it a little difficult. I have to bend and twist to get them through the premade slots on the back.

"If you hurry up," Dabi says, pushing off the door, "you'll find out."

"I'm coming," I groan, grabbing a sweatshirt. I tie it around my waist, not bothering to try to put it on. I pull the door open, seeing Dabi going through my fridge. "Hey!" I call as he steals a Caprisun. "Those are mine."

"What's mine is yours," Dabi says, throwing me a juice box. "Cheers!" I roll my eyes and poke the straw in the hole, slurping it down. "Alright, now let's get going. It'll probably take us around forty minutes to walk there, so I hope your legs are all stretched and stuff."

"We could just fly," I offer, nodding to my room. "It'll take much less time."

Dabi stares at me for a second before bursting out laughing. "Me? Fly? With you? No thanks, Birdie. Never in a million years. Not again."

"Again?" I squeak. "Who else have you flown with?"

"I used to, uh, have a bird friend," Dabi says stiffly. "He was a moron, to say the least. But anyway, I'd rather make out with Shigaraki than fly eighty-some feet above the ground with a babbling airhead."

"You're afraid of heights!" I scream, pointing at him like I'm a child. I just can't stop myself.

"Am not!" he yells back, his voice cracking a bit. I start dying laughing while Dabi turns to walk away. I grab his arm and pull him back, still laughing a bit, and pull him to my room after throwing away my juice box. "C'mon! It'll be fun!" I sing to him. "I've done it before, too, and it was perfectly safe."

Dabi looks away, a weird expression on his face. "I'm pretty sure you dropped the person, birdie. There's no way it'll work."

I smile, playing the memory in my mind. "Okay, so maybe I dropped the person the first time, but I was just a kid. I'm much stronger now! I am the number two hero, after all."

Dabi looks at me with a weak smile. He mutters something under his breath that I don't catch, but I just ignore it. After a moment of thinking, he nods, and I let out a victory cheer. I jump over the window, my wings shaking with anticipation. I push open the window and gesture for Dabi to come closer. "This is a death wish," he grumbles, holding his arms out. I balance backwards on the window sill, flapping my wings to keep me balanced. I snake my arms around his chest, gripping tightly, and wrap my legs around his waist. Dabi grabs my thighs, and I can feel him trembling.

"You're gonna be fine," I tell him as I start flapping my wings harder. "Aren't you a member of the notorious league of villains? Don't be a pussy, princess." I push off the ledge, taking us into the sky. Dabi screams, tensing his entire body.

"I can't breathe," he says, digging his nails into my legs. His hands heat up, and I can feel them starting to burn my clothes. "K-Keigo, I'm going to fucking die! Put me down, damn it! I'm- I'm going to fucking die!" I have to calm him down or we're both going to drop to our death!

"Dabi!" I say, tightening my grip on him. "You have to try to relax, alright? I've got you. I'm not going to drop you. Try to focus on the sound of my wings. Hear them? Think about how they're pushing the wind with every flap. Cool, isn't it?"

"Y-yeah," Dabi says breathlessly. "Yeah, it's pretty cool, Birdie. Your wings are pretty cool."

"Thanks," I beam. "Now, tell me, where are we going? I'll try to get us there as fast as possible."
