I decide to go up to Adonis's office and wait for him to finish. As soon as I get in I start to break down.

Adonis:

After Kiera left Stoyan was still screaming. I was tempted to go straight after her but I don't want anyone to think something is wrong and I hope it'll help her to know that he's dead. I decide to take a sharp knife and cut down through the veins on his arms. And if that wasn't enough I cut across his stomach essentially gutting him. He continues to thrash as I walk out but I don't care. He'll be dead in a few minutes and I have to find my girl.

I make my way upstairs and am met with Nico waiting outside. "Where is Kiera?" I ask him. "She came up here about 3 minutes ago and went in the direction of your office. Is everything ok?" He says adding a question at the end. "Everything's fine, don't let anyone go near my office, and send someone to clean up the mess downstairs," I tell him. He curtly nods and walks away as I go to my office.

Once I'm there I see Kiera crying on the floor with her back against the wall. I rush towards her and pull her into a tight hug after locking the door. "It's ok, it's ok," I tell her. I hold her until she's calm and her breathing's evened before asking her "What are you feeling?" She takes a moment to think and then says "Overwhelmed, tired, upset, and I'm furious."

"Because of what Stoyan said?" I ask. "Partly, I'm upset and angry that I let him get under my skin again. It's all overwhelming seeing him again and I just feel so tired," she says starting to cry again. I continue to hold her and wait for her to calm down again before saying "He's dead now, you did a great job." "Really?" She says. "Yes," I respond.

"That's really good," she says starting to relax in my arms. "Have you talked to anyone about your past?" I ask her. "Just you and Tony," she says. She should talk to a therapist. "Maybe you should go to therapy? It can help you work through everything," I tell her. She laughs slightly and says "Who would believe me other than those that live in our world?"

"I have a therapist. I have some that work as a part of our Mafia for anyone who wants to see one," I say. She thinks for a moment and says "I think that'd be nice." We sit in silence for a moment before she says "Can we go home?" "Yes, let's go," I say picking her up. "Thank you," she says.

"For what?" I ask her. "For sticking by me," she says faintly. "Never thank me for that μωρό (baby)," I tell her. I don't need to be thanked for caring about her. I've known for a while now how I feel about her. I know I love her. Nothing could change that.

Kiera:

I wake up in Adonis's bed but he's not there. It feels so empty without him. I sit up and look around before getting up. I check the time on my phone before going into the bathroom. 6:21 in the morning. I must've fallen asleep in Adonis's arms and slept through the night. I wonder where he went? I take a shower and change my outfit before putting on some light makeup.

I go over to my phone and start a text conversation with Elli because Tony sent me her number overnight. She replied almost instantly.

Text messages

Elli- Heyy, do you want to meet up today?

Kiera- Yes, I need some time to get away from everything.

Elli- I understand that completely. I can come to pick you up at 9:00, does that work?

I look at the time and see it's 6:55. That's plenty of time to get the twins fed and ready for the day.

Kiera- Yes, I'll see you then

Elli- Great!

Kiera- Where are we going btw?

Elli- It's a surprise, it's a good one don't worry too much

Kiera- Ok :)

End of text messages

I put the phone down and go into the nursery. My heart melts at the sight of Adonis laying back on the couch holding Everett on his chest both of them sleeping. I try to be as quiet as I can going over to Alina. She's already awake, I pick her up and take her over to the changing table. I change her and put her in a new onesie.

I pick her up and turn around to see Adonis watching me with a slight smile on his face. "Good morning μωρό (baby)," he says. "Good morning," I reply. He picks up Everett and starts changing him for me. "I plan to leave with Elli at 9:00, is that ok?" I ask him. "Where are you going with her?" He asks. "She said it was a surprise so I don't know," I say.

"Ok, can you text me when you get there so I know you're safe?" He asks. "Of course," I respond. He nods pleased with my response. He finishes putting Everett in a onesie and we go downstairs. We eat breakfast and feed the twins. Maria made omelets and sausage. They were delicious, Maria is an amazing cook. I can't believe how much my life has changed. We went upstairs at 7:26 when we finished eating and Adonis took me to his office. "What did you bring me in here for?" I asked. "I don't want to overwhelm you or anything, especially today but I want to show you something," he said. "Ok," I say suspiciously. He leads me over to his desk and shows me his computer screen. My jaw drops. 

"How did you find him?" I ask. "I wasn't hard considering the Greco's run a small gang around here. It didn't take long to find Ethan," he said. He found the man that took away my innocence. My childhood was terrorized by him. He's also my twin's father. I feel a lot right now but most of all I feel relieved. Like a weight has been lifted off my chest. He was one of my biggest concerns. Although now with getting my twins back I haven't been focusing on my concerns because I knew Adonis even more so now has a huge reputation. If he's taking over the underworld there's a small chance a small gang would try to take them. But now there's no chance. "How are you feeling?" He asks me. "Relieved," I say. 

"I don't want anyone to hurt you again," Adonis says suddenly. I nod absentmindedly. "Can we talk about something?" He asks. "About what?" I ask as I sit down. "Boundaries, we haven't talked about that yet," he says. "I like the safe word, I know I can get out of anything if I don't like it," I say. "That's not what I'm talking about. Is there anything that you just aren't comfortable with at all? Or is there anything that will trigger you? Things like that," he says. "I don't think ever said anything like that," I say truthfully. I thought the safe word was a boundary. (A/N, it is. Kiera has just never experienced having boundaries set by her) "You've never set boundaries with someone?" he asks. "No one ever gave me that chance, Tony and Santo are good but they just don't do anything I'm not comfortable with so I never thought of saying anything. You already gave me the safeword so I thought that was all I needed," I explain. He looks taken aback by this.

"You don't have to be worried about telling me anything you're not comfortable with doing," he says. "There are some things I guess," I say. He looks at me urging me to continue. "I won't give you a lap dance," I say. "Ok, I won't ask for that," he says accepting it. I trust that. "I don't want to be submissive sometimes," I say. "You want to be on top sometimes?" he asks. "Yeah, I want you to do things that I want sometimes too," I say. "I can definitely do that," he says. 

We talked a bit more about things I want to change and each other's boundaries. I really trust him. Everything is moving so fast though. Not only with Adonis but my whole life. It seems too good to be true

And it was.
