Recap...

Before I leave I put pillows under my blanket to form a person shape. I hope that will give me some extra time. Then I sneak out. After I get past the guards I just walk. I don't even know where I'm going. I continue walking until a car pulls up next to me.

Adonis:

I conclude my meeting with the Spanish Mafia and walk out. It's only 10:00 so my right hand and I plan to go get drinks. Yes I'm 18 and no I don't care. I think that's the smallest crime I commit so it's not that bad. "Hey boss you ready?" Nico say once I get out to the car. "We're not in business mode anymore Nico, call me by my name. And yes I'm ready," I tell him. He just laughs and gets into the car after I do. Asshole does it on purpose.

Don't get me wrong I require people to call me boss but not the people closest to me. In meetings they have to because it's a part of respect but in personal settings I hate it. I've known Nico since we were kids. He's the son of my dad's right hand so it was kind of a given that he'd be my right hand. He was there with me through everything even my siblings being born. Rhea my sister, and Ajax and Ares my brothers. Rhea's 15 and Ajax and Ares are 13. I consider Nico my sibling as well. You don't have to be blood to be family. It's all about those who are there for you, respect you, and love you.

The driver stops at my club and Nico and I leave the car. Once we get inside we order bourbon and sit in the private lounge. "Another successful meeting, we're gaining a lot of alliances lately," Nico states. "Yes," I respond. I know where he's going with this. "So when are we going to go after the Ricci's? He asks. I sigh and answer "You know it's not that easy. I need a reason that would be deemed right to attack them in the Mafia world. They need to attack me first same with the Kings." He finishes his bourbon and so do I. We order two more and continue our conversation. "I can't wait to just get rid of them," he says. "Agreed, for now I'm still celebrating getting ahead of the Ricci's, and now we're close to surpassing the Kings, that's just the first step in taking them down," I respond. He nods and we continue the rest of our night talking about anything but the Mafia. I need a break from it.

Once we're done drinking we get back into the car and drive home. It's now 11:39 so it's definitely time to sleep. I roll into bed after getting ready and try to sleep. I have an uneasy feeling about tonight. No matter what I do my body won't let me sleep.

After hours of tossing and turning I finally get up and get dressed. I'm just going to go for a drive. I slip out of my house and start driving. It's 2:30 so I didn't want to wake anyone up. I keep driving and just drive in no particular direction. After driving for awhile something ahead of my catches my directions. A girl walking on the side of the road with a duffel bag on her shoulder. I slow down a bit and as I get closer I recognize who she is. Kiera. I stop when I reach her and roll down my window. She looks at me but it's doesn't look like she's completely there. Her eyes are glazed over and there's this sadness I hadn't noticed before in her.

"Kiera, get in the car," I tell her trying to not scare her. I don't know what happened but I know if she's in this state it was something bad and I don't want to hurt her. She listened and got in the passengers seat setting her duffel bag on the floor in front of her and buckeling her seatbelt. As a caution I lock the passenger door before I start driving. I can't take her to my house while she's in this seat so I take her to my office for my legal business. I run hotels and restaurants so I have an office building. In the building there's a small penthouse at the top just in case I needed to stay here for whatever reason, or if I needed a break from work.

I take her up there and get her into the bed. She doesn't look like she's ready to talk so I leave her there as she starts to close her eyes. What happened to her? Is that why I felt and uneasy feeling tonight? I need answers but I can't get her to tell me now so I might as well get some sleep now. I lay on the couch and continue thinking about Kiera until I eventually fall asleep.

Kiera:

I slowly open my eyes and look around. Adonis took me here last night but this isn't his bedroom. Maybe it's a spare bedroom? I sit up and look at the alarm clock on the nightstand. 8:13. How was I able to sleep so long? I normally wake up with a nightmare before I can get a long sleep.

I get up and leave the room. It's not long after that I realize that this isn't Adonis's house. Maybe I was hallucinating? Who took me here and who's house is this? I continue looking around until I reach the kitchen. Adonis is sitting there eating breakfast with a plate next to him. He turns around when I start walking closer. "You should eat," he says and and points to the plate. I just nod and sit next to him before I start eating.

When we finish he takes me to the living room and we sit on the couch facing each other. "Can you tell me what happened last night?" He asks me. I think about it before I nod. Then I tell him every detail about last night. When I'm done he just looks at me. After awhile he eventually starts talking.
