Tammy's POV

I went home from work. Yes, I've had started my training before my father handles me around our company. I don't want to start from being CEO without knowing the ins and outs of the business.

I was surprised to see my father and Mr. Forde talking about something serious. I eavesdropped to hear it.

"So Joseph have you thought about it?" Mr. Forde asked. Yes. Devian's father.

"About the engagement?" My dad asked. Mr. Forde probably nodded.

"What engagement are they talking about?" I thought to myself.

"I haven't asked her yet. Have you asked Devian? I thought he already has a fiance?" My dad asked.

I assume that it is me and Devian they're talking about.

"I haven't told him yet. But I can assure you. He's going to marry your daughter no matter what." Mr. Forde answered.

Marriage? Me and Devian?? It's like a dream come true but I won't let that happen. Devian loves Lauren that much, even though I know Lauren's feelings aren't the same.

"Wouldn't it be too unfair for him? I love my daughter and I want her to marry Devian because she loves him. But if your son is in love with someone else... I don't want to interfere with that." My dad said seriously.

"Don't worry Joseph. I'll take care of that. And besides his fiance is a gold digger. I've had her investigated after the first time he brought her at home. And we didn't like her attitude that quick. And don't worry he'll love Tammy more than friends. And you know your daughter. She's not that hard to love. She's kind, responsible and anything you can think of. I'd love to have her as my in law." Mr. Forde chuckled.

After I hear those words from Mr. Forde, I collected myself and rush to my room.

I don't really know what to feel! Should I be happy that I'm going to marry him? Or should I be sad because he's going to be sad after he marries me?

That night I couldn't sleep. I keep rolling on my bed thinking of the things I've heard.

Why is it so sudden? I've been avoiding him for the past months and now I'm going to marry him?

The Next Day my dad called me to his office. I think I know where this will go.

"Sweetie, how are you and Devian?" He asked.

"We're good." I just said.

"I know you're not. But you love him right?" He asked.

"I heard you and Uncle last night. And I don't like the idea of marrying Devian." I said.

"Look, sweetie, our company is in a massive problem right now and only your uncle Forde could help us. He offered to help, but in exchange, you have to marry Devian. I thought it wouldn't be a problem because I know how much you loved him." He explained.

"He has a Fiancé already, and I know how much he loves her. I don't want to marry Devian. I could help you with our company, tell me whatever I had to do, just don't let me marry Devian." I said.

"Sweetie, This is hard for me but please think this through." He said then walked away.

Every Time my dad walks out after a serious matter, it really means it's the only solution he can think of for that problem.

I was walking down to the nearest convenience store when I saw a couple at a coffee shop acting so sweet to each other. I smiled and thought to myself that one day I could find someone that will love me.

My smile fades when I finally saw who the girl was. It was Lauren and... Peter! It's not Devian. After a few moments, I find myself gawking at them. They were about to get up when Peter kissed Lauren! She smiled at him sweetly.

Lauren saw me.

"Taylor.." She utters. "I-It's not what you think it is!" She said. I looked at her sternly.

"How could you do this to Devian?! He loves you so much!" I said.

"I know. I thought I loved him too!" She said.

"You thought?" I asked trying to suppress my feelings.

"popularity. It's what pushes me to say yes to Devian's proposal. And his efforts are what made me like him. I thought I loved him already but, Peter came back. He's the one I love." She said.

"That's bullshit! You could have said it to him earlier so you wouldn't get this far. I'm going to give you three days to clear things up with my best friend. And then leave already. Stay away from him." I said.

"But the wedding will happen in three days.." She reasoned out. How thick is her face to say those? She's cheating on him then admitted that she doesn't really love him and still worried about the wedding?

"Then don't go." Cause I'm the one going.

I know what I'm going to do, I'm going to marry Devian and help him move on. Maybe this is my chance to make him fall for me. Maybe.

Tammy's POV

I woke up almost drowning. Devian splashed water on my face. I wasn't surprised. For sure I overslept again.

"You didn't cook my breakfast your pest. And even forgot to wake me up early! You really don't know how to do things right do you!?" He shouted at me. I wad still in shock.

"I-I'm sorry Dev-- I mean S-Sir. I'm going to cook you breakfast right now sir don't worry." I stammered. And get up so fast to cook some eggs and sausages for him.

As soon as he went down. I smiled at him and help him with his necktie. I was still smiling and he's throwing me a death glare.

"Your breakfast is ready S-Sir.," I said and looked down.

"Throw it away. I don't need it, and besides, I'm gonna be late if I eat those garbage." He said and walks out. After I hear his vehicle fades. I smiled for a second, again. My heart ached.

I did all my routine, I was about to go to my room to finish my paper works when someone knocks on the door.

I ran towards the door and took a peek just to know who is the person behind it.

It's Chloe! I quickly put my hoodie on to cover up the bruises I have in my arms and collected myself before opening the door.

"Tams. How are you??" She asked excited and embrace me with a tight hug. I closed my eyes to conceal the pain I felt when she hugged me. My bruises are still new.

"I miss you!" I said then hugged her back. "I'm good! Thank you for visiting!" I replied and pulled away before pulling her towards the couch.

"So how's married life?" She asked enthusiastically.

"It's great! We're doing great! Devian is a very loving and caring husband to me! I never knew he would be like that! He made me fall in love with him all over again for like every day!!" I said grinning like an idiot. Such a bad liar.

"You're lying." She said. That made me froze. She then held my arms and pulled down the sleeves.

"WHAT IS THIS TAYLOR MARIE!?" She asked when she saw my bruises. It's turning purple.

"I-I just tripped down the stairs. I-I, you know I'm clumsy right." I tried to say.

"Stop telling lies. And Start telling me the truth!" She shouted.

"That's the truth!" I said.

"Alright then. I'll call Devian to ask him!" She said. That's the last thing I would want her to do. If Devian ever founds out that I failed to conceal my bruises, he will kill me.

"No! I-I am going to explain! Just please don't call him to please!" I begged. She looked at me and embrace me with a huge hug.

"Tell me everything Tams, you know I can't bear seeing you like that." She said and looked at me in the eyes.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here with you for more than 4 years." She apologetically said.

"It's Okay Chloe. I know you have to do that just to move on. I'll explain to you everything.." I said. Then tears began to fall. But I smiled at her.
