When you're overworked

Work is getting more and more, hawks was away again, and I didn't know when he'd be home. It was about 10 pm, I have been siting at the dinner table with my laptop working for hours straight, surviving on coffee.

"There is still 50 pages left" I mumble and take another sip of my coffee, I was fighting to stay awake at this point.

I stood up every hour to make another coffee, then straight back to work. No Y/n, stay awake, its only 50 pages, its not a lot, encouraging myself was somewhat helping.

Looking at the time again, it was 11:30 pm. I still had 30 pages left, I can do this.

My head was starting to hurt, my fingers feel like they were going to fall off from all the typing.

I heard the door open, I didn't look away from the screen, "I'm home" Hawks said, taking his shoes off.

"Kid?" he looks at me sitting at the table. In a instant, I collapse, halfway laying in the table. "KID!" Hawks runs to my side.

"I, need to finish" I mutter, tears falling down my face, I was tired, my back was in pain. "No, I was expecting a happy face, not this" Hawks sighed.

"Come on Kid, lets get you to bed" he said, picking me up. "I can't" I try to get free, but failed.

"You're overworked, you can't go on like this" He started to walk to the bedroom, my body didn't even try to fight back at this point.

He plopped be down on the bed, helping me change into more comfortable sleepwear before changing himself.

"But-" he cut my sentence off, "No buts". He lied down, pulling me down with him. He pulled the blanket over me, one of his wings over me, another one nearly hanging off the bed. There's no getting out of this.

He places his arm over me, before I moved closer to him. "Good night Kiddo" he said, pecking my lips. "Night" I mumbled before falling asleep.
