Nearing the end of the year, things start to get busier. My workload is piling up, hawks wasn't home for 3 days straight thanks to all the villains.

"Finally" I groan before packing my bag. Me and Mei were at the office until 7 pm finishing more work. Mei giggled, "at least we don't have a lot of work left, and Christmas is in 27 days anyway".

"I know, which means we have 1 week of complete all these before we can get off work before then" I grab my keys.

We locked up and went our ways. Going to unlock the door, I see the door was yet again, unlocked, I didn't hawks would be home. Slowly closing the door behind me, I hear crying.

What the... I place my things down. Hawks, please be ok.

I know its hawks, I see his jacket hanging.

I walk into the bedroom, "Hawks?, Love?, you alright?" I see hawks sitting on the floor, his head between his knees.

He looks up at me, his eyes red. I run over to his side, kneeling down. I cupped his face, wiping away the tears.

"I'm here" I wrap my arms around him. He manages to choke out a few words, "I failed... to... protect someone".

"Hawks...", I rub his back, his head in the crook of my neck.

"Am I a good Hero?..". "Of course, you're the number 2 hero, things happen", I hug him tighter. He wraps both of his arms around my waist.

"But, what if I can't.. protect you?".

"I know you can, and I can handle myself" I swayed my body left to right.

After a while, he managed to calm down, being a hero is hard, even harder when you can't protect someone.

"Feeling better?..." I cup his face once more. He leans his head to my hand and nods.

"Thank you, kid", he presses his lips against mine. We exchange kisses before we broke apart. "I'll put a movie on, we can cuddle?". He nods. I stand up before grabbing the remote. Due to the fight, his wings were small, and its gonna take a while to grow back, give or take 3 hours.

I put on a movie, (You can choose the movie!). Hawks climbed on the bed, it will be easier to lay down without the wings. I lied down next to him, he wrapped his arms around me, his head just above my chest.
