Broke

A/N: This was a request for Hawks having an s/o who's struggling financially and some comfort for that

Keigo wasn't supposed to come over, so you had pretty much spread all your bills and notices on the kitchen table, to try to figure out which ones you could afford right now.

By the time you had gotten through half the papers, you'd come to the conclusion you couldn't afford rent next month, and this month's electricity bill was about to come due which you could barely afford, if you didn't eat much for the rest of the month.

"Fuck" you hissed as you felt the tears beginning to sting your eyes.

How the hell were you going to manage?

You heard the front door lock rattle, as someone pushed the key in and opened the door.

You sprung up and started to gather all the papers, shoving them into the binder they had been in but you weren't quick enough, and some of them were still on the table when Keigo walked in. He picked up one of the papers that had fallen to the floor and started reading it before you managed to snatch it out of his hands.

Keigo just stood there while you gathered the rest of the papers and tried not to cry. He knew something had been going on, but he didn't know you were struggling this much. He walked behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist, leaning his chin on your shoulder.

"You wanna talk about it?" he asked.

"Yeah" you sniffled, before turning around and hugging him tightly and starting to sob.

Keigo just held you while you cried out your frustrations.

"It's gonna be okay, I'm here" he whispered as he caressed your back.

You eventually calmed down and sat back down on the chair, leaning your elbows on your knees and lowering your head.

"What the fuck am I gonna do?" you muttered, not raising your head.

Keigo knelt down and lifted your chin with two fingers so you were looking at him.

"We'll figure it out, I want to help you" he said and put his hand on your knee now that you were meeting his eyes.

"How? I can't afford rent next month and I don't even have enough to pay all my bills this month" you said, the tears starting to well up again.

"Hey, please don't cry" Keigo said gently.

"I just don't know what to do"

"You could... move in with me?" Keigo suggested carefully.

"I don't want to be a burden to you" you said quietly.

"You're not and you never will be" Keigo assured.

If you were being totally honest with yourself, moving in with Keigo sounded like an amazing idea.

"Are you absolutely sure you want me to?" you asked.

"I am. To be honest I've been wanting to bring it up for a while now, because I would really love to live with you" he said, getting a bit flustered.

"I'm still going to pay half the rent, I don't want you to think I'm a freeloader" you said sternly.

"No you're not, I don't even pay any rent, the hero safety commission pays for the place anyway" he smirked.

"Really?"

"Yep"

"Will the safety commission give me permission to live with you?" you asked, wanting to make sure he had thought this through.

"They won't have a choice if they want me to work for them"

"You would really go against them for me, for us?"

"Baby, I would go against anyone for you" he smiled and stood up, pulling you up with him.

"Are you 100% sure you want to do this? I want this but I also don't want to make you do something you don't want to do"

"Yes, I am and you won't be able to change my mind" he grinned widely.

"I'll still pay for my own stuff like my phone bill and such" you said sternly, looking him in the eyes with conviction.

"We can work out all that stuff later. You're gonna go email your landlord that you'll be gone by the end of the month and I'm gonna help you pack all your stuff. Not right now but like the next week or so" he was already planning excitedly.

"I love you Keigo" you said and kissed him on the cheek, hugging him tightly.

"I love you too, and you're gonna be just fine" he chuckled, smiling widely as you peppered his face with kisses.
