Chapter 3: A warm greeting

Dijun breathes loudly as he stands in front of the fox den as Feng Jiu was neatly grooming his robe and fixing his hair. Since this morning she was quite nervous and worried as Dijun couldn't find anything suitable to wear as he keeps on changing his appearance to his hairpin. To even take a very long bath that had kept her waiting. Feeling her patting among his crisp clothing had made him even more anxious.

"Xiao Bai, do I look great?" He asked her as he looks at her. "I feel like I don't look presentable."

She smiles as she nodded her head.

"Very handsome and representable." She said to him. "I'm sure you'll do great."

Dijun grabbed her hand nervously as he looks at her.

"I'm a little nervous." He replied honestly to her. "I didn't make a great impression on your parents."

"Don't worry." She reassures him. "We Qing Qiu people are very easily forgiving. No need to sweat."

Dijun nodded his head as he looks at her. He didn't sleep well for the past 2 nights fearing that Feng Jiu's parents won't accept him. This morning Dijun has spilled his tea onto his fresh robe and barely eats his breakfast. If he succeeds with this marriage proposal once again, he promises to Xiao Bai he won't make anymore sweet and sour fish.

As Mi Gu walks out allowing them to entered Dijun breaths deeply into the heavy air as he looks at his wife. Sitting down Dijun's handshakes as he sips down the tea. The looks of Bai Yi and Bai Zhi stare harshly at him.

"Dijun, like I expect you're here." Bai Yi said coldly to him. "Last I saw you, you were drunk."

Dijun clears his throat a little as he looks at Bai Yi calmly. Although his lack of understanding of his father in law, based on what his wife had told him, her father was a very upright and traditional man as he was very clear in his intention that he didn't like Dijun one bit.

"I apologize for my action," Dijun said as he bowed at him. "I came here to asked for your daughter's hand in marriage."

Bai Yi laughs a little before his wife's stares had made him stop.

"Dijun, we understand. But what if you break our daughter's heart again?" Feng Jiu's mother asked him. "I understand last time it was urgent. But my daughter was right, you helping another woman on her wedding day."

He sighs as he places down the teacup trying to buy in some time what he would say next. Although Ji Heng, no longer has any relation with him nor the Bai family, she was still said to be rumor around the Demon land still seeking for Dijun's returned. It was a rumor that Yan Chiwu had abandoned for her obsessions powers.

"I understand my action in the past had hurt the Bai family deeply. And I sincerely apologize for that. I expected no forgiveness for my careless action." Dijun has said. He takes a look at Feng Jiu as he grabbed her hand. "But I truly love Xiao Bai that I want to be with her eternally."

Gripping his hand harder Feng Jiu smiles at her parents. She had known beforehand it was harder than the first time she had convinced them since it was Dijun and her fault in the begginning. Dijun, a man who had run away from the wedding. And Feng Jiu the runaway bride that escaped in the mortal realm. Became a single mother that raised her child.

No matter how hard she had tried to hide from her parents, they had known what trouble Dijun have caused her. From falling down FanYin Gu to in the dream of Alanrou. No wonder Bai Yi had hated Dijun. He fears that Dijun's power would overtake his daughter and if one day they need to save her, they wouldn't be able to. While Bai Zhi has fear Feng Jiu would have abandoned her post as the Queen of Qing Qiu.

"Father, Mother, you said once that I should settle in and have a family of my own. I think I'm ready." Feng Jiu has said to him. "As Dijun has said, I too wanted to be with him."

Hearing their precious daughter said that they look upon each other and nodded their head. Although they were quite displeased about the wedding and accepting Dijun as a son in law. But their daughter and grand-daughters happiness matter the most.

"Alright, we agree." Feng Jiu's mother said. "When will you have a wedding?"

"Next week is an auspicious day. I plan to have it for 200 years."

Feng Jiu spits out her tea as she looks at him. That wasn't what she had planned for him to say. Last night she had even force Dijun to remembered what he was supposed to say on a tiny piece of paper and make him recite whatever she had out from her mouth.

"200?" She whispered to him before turning to her parents and wiping down the tea she smiles at them.

"200 years?" Bai Yi asked him.

"Yes, 200." Dijun's voice said clearly to him. "I'm making up our 200 years of seperation."

Bai Zhi's eyes had raised as he nodded his head.

"Xiao Jiu." He calls for Feng Jiu. "When are you and Dijun planning on having children."

"We-" Dijun said before he pauses as Feng Jiu pinches him on the side and steps on his shoe. As she looks at her grandparents and her parents she smiles at them.

"Time will tell." Feng Jiu said to them. "Dijun and I are in no rush."

It was a good thing that Dijun and her didn't take Gun Gun with them otherwise it would be even harder for Dijun to asked for her hand in marriage. She needs to find ways to thank High God Zhe Yan for keeping her secret safe for so many years that she decided to give him some precious pastries that she had made earlier this morning.

"How many do you plan on having?" Bai Yi asked as he stares at Dijun.

"I-" He pauses as he thinks carefully what to say next. "Xiao Bai and I plan to have a few cubs."

Feng Jiu nodded as she releases her hand and patted on Dijun's thighs. Her pale complexion had returned its colors at last.

"Xiao Jiu, you and Dijun must be tired why don't you go rest." Her mother said as she notices her daughter's face sweating a little. Turning to his wife Dijun wipes away her sweat.

"I'll take her to rest then," Dijun said as he grabbed her hand outside. When finally they stepped outside Feng Jiu gags a little. She has been holding her morning sickness ever since she had entered. As Dijun pats her back he leans to her.

"Xiao Bai, you don't look well. Are you alright?" He asked her.

Shaking her hand she looks at him.

"I'm fine." She responded to him. "Is just a little stuffy in there."

As Dijun checks her pulse she pulls her hand swiftly away from him.

"I'm fine really." She said to him.

"Xiao Bai, are you hiding something from me," Dijun asked as he glares at her.

"I might." Feng Jiu said as she shrugs. "Come I'll take you to a place."

Reaching for his eyes she covered it as she leads him forward. He smiles as she begins to leads him somewhere mysterious and unknown.

"You can open now." She said to him.

As he opens his eyes a beautiful scenery unfolds to him.

"I think it would be great if we build a house here. Based on my measurement is a good place for breeze and warmth." She said to him as she places her hand on her hips.

Seeing her smiling he places his hand on her hips and pulls to him closer.

"I don't think that's what you're going to say to me," Dijun said to her.

Feng Jiu smiles as she places his hand on her stomach.

"Dijun, I'm pregnant." She said to him.

Hearing that his eyes blink as he stares at her and release her on the ground as he hugged her even tighter.

"Xiao Bai?" He asked her. "Reall? That's great."

Her head slightly pokes up from his grip as she looks at him curiously.

"Dijun, you think I haven't given you the sign enough. The sour loquats to the morning sickness to me not drinking wine?" She asked him.

He smiles as he pets her head.

"I was a fool." He said to her. "When did you known?"

"I known after I woke up from a coma." Feng Jiu said to him. "I was trying to find the right moment to tell you that."

Dijun smiles as he kisses her on her head as he carried her in his arms.

"Let's build our home another day." He said to her.

Wrapping her arms around his neck she pouted at him.

"But I want to build it today." She said to him. "I think I'm cable enough."

"No," Dijun said to her. "You need to be well for our wedding day."

"Should we tell Gun Gun?" Feng Jiu asked him. Kissing her lightly on her lips Dijun shakes his head.

"We'll tell him when everything is settled down," Dijun said to her.

She giggles a little as she hears him say that.

"Dijun, don't you think we been getting a bit too much attention lately?" She asked him. "What we have a 200 years wedding and a baby shower soon. Not to mention my crowning."

"I think is good to show off your beauty and nature once in a while," Dijun replied to her before he pauses his thoughts.

"What? You wanted me to show myself in front of all the young men?" She asked him. "That wouldn't be a problem except for Cang Yi."

Hearing another man's name Dijun pauses as he looks at her.

"Cang Yi??" He muttered underneath his breath.

"Surely you haven't heard of my grand wedding escaped when my father tied me down to a sedan?" She asked as she looks at him. "We could reserve a special guest seat for him at the wedding."

"He wouldn't dare," Dijun muttered underneath his breath.

After he had placed his wife to bed he grabbed his sword to find out who was this mysterious God Cang Yi that had once tried to steal his wife away from him. Good thing that she had wrecked his whole palace to rejected his hand in marriage. But from what he heard from his wife, Cang Yi had placed a portrait of her on his wall.

Which he thinks is highly inappropriate of him so. As Dijun stands and requests for Cang Yi to stepped out himself, his face was filled with anger and jealousy. He may have escaped his ways many times but not this time. After destroying and wreck Cang Yi beating him up until he was dead Dijun returned quietly home to find his wife waiting for him in the front door with her hand cross.

"Donghua Dijun." She said his full name as she glares at him. "Where did you go?"

He smiles as he petted her stroking away her anger.

"Don't distract me!" She said as she felt his hand scratching the back of her ear.

"I heard some rather disturbing noise. I went to check it out for you." Dijun said to her as he wraps his hands around her. "Ah, I'm a little tired let's go in."

Before she had said any words to him, he had already wrapped his hand around her treating her like a pillow again as he fell asleep. Though she was mad at him, there was no way to escape his strong grip.

Only I can think of you. And only I can have you. No one is to look at you other than me in this way. Because if they do, I'll beat them to death.
