I work in Shimabara serving whatever type of man will pay money. I'm not exactly what you would call a 'quiet doll' I grew up with an older brother , he taught me self defence and made sure no harm would come to me, but one day he disappeared we never did find him some people say that he came to this town so I've stayed here for a few weeks and found work here.

I don't like it but here we are. I want to find him I miss him but....I've had no luck...
It's been a while since I stirred up trouble I'm not 'some women' that will just stand by and let others push me around.

My friend Kaori would tell the manager, she would back me up occasionally as well if I decided to piss off customers with my personality, some men seem to like me like this although not in the way I would want.
My specialty is singing, I'm not much good at anything else and I only got taken in by the manager because Kaori put in a good word for me, one more mishap though and I'm out...That's what the manager said....
And that was last time...I am so screwed and I'm sure Kaori's sweet talk can't get me out of this one...

"Y/N!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!!"

I tried to run away and got near the entrance outside but got knocked down by someone in my way...

"Oh I'm sorry here let me help you up, a beauty like you shouldn't be on the ground..."

I looked up to see a pair of stunning blue eyes looking straight at me....
This man's hand was outstretched towards me offering a way off the cold ground...
This guy...

"It's alright I don't bite...much" He said...
What a womanizer....

I took his hand anyway and he helped me to my feet he was....very tall and...had a really nice body

"Y/N! Come back inside at once!"

I looked behind me to see the manager and the man I had kicked in the shin running towards me, I braced myself for a hard hit ... But the man, I had run into had stopped the hard slap of my manager, I was in big trouble, he looks as though he has a good head on his shoulders.

"I wonder, could I have this woman entertain me tonight?" The man in front of me asked the manager.
"M-Master Nagakura! I apologise deeply but Y/N is not available at this time she-"
"Really? What a shame...I was willing to pay extra for her as well..."
"O-Oh is that so...well I suppose she may be able to entertain you for some of her time...w-would you like to follow me and have you pick of other girls for your entertain-"
"She is enough"
"B-but sir she merely sings, surely that is not enough to satisfy you tast-"
"She is enough, oh and my friend will be joining me later"
"O-Of course Sir if you could be so kind as to sign and enter your name in the registry and the name of your later guest we shall be sure to send him straight to you"
"Thanks"

This guy he's so care free...and quite handsome...
I wonder about him...

"HEY SHE STILL KICKED ME WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!" The man I had kicked asked the manager.

"She shall be punished later and I am happy to pay for any medical bills needed" The manager replied calmly probably eager to get his hands on my saviour's money.

We went back inside and I showed my guest to a room and was about to close the door on us both when the manager said to me;

"Do not mess up this time or it will be the streets for you girl!"
I gritted my teeth and nodded in understanding and closed the door.

I turned to my guest and bowed.

"Thank you for saving me, I am sure I would have suffered a much worse punishment if it were not for you saving me"
"I did nothing but request your services" He replied and winked at me...

I poured him some sake in silence and sat opposite him, he was just continuously staring at me.
It began to annoy me slightly but I let it go...this is my last chance after all...
"So what happened back there? Sounds like you caused a pretty big stir up?" He asked me with sparked curiosity in his eyes.
"Well, I lost my temper and kicked him, and when the manager said he'll pay for the medical bill he's gonna take it out of my pay check" Why was I telling him that? I don't know why but I felt like I could be honest with this man.
"You kicked him that hard huh?"
"yes"

There was a silence and he continued to stare at me.

"You look a lot like my friend you know" He said breaking the silence
"Oh really does you friend have red hair like mine?"
"He does"

I was always bullied for my hair when I was young, it was one of the reasons my brother used to stick up for me.

I was shocked by this I had never known another person to have hair like mine.

"Is that so" I replied calmly
"He should be coming by any time now"
"Would you like me to sing for you?"
"If you wish?"

I looked at him once again shocked...no one had ever asked me if I wanted to or not, it was always a command but when I looked at his eyes I saw such a kindness...

"S-Sure... would you like me to call for an instrument player?"
"No, just you...is enough..."

I stood up and began to sing...

He just sat there with his eyes closed drinking sake but he then opened them and they were full of excitement?

"Hey.....Sano...you can come in now, this is her without a doubt"

I turned towards the door and surely enough it was him....my big brother...
Sanosuke

"S-Sano...."
"y/n, before you start yelling let me explain, I couldn't stand it anymore our shunned way of living, and it was the hardest thing to do leaving you but now I can get you out of here! As soon as heard I you were here I started to get money together to buy you out and I've finally got it. So let's go and find the manager and get you out of this hell hole! You can come and live with me and Shinpachi and the others at head quarters."

"Sano.....All these years I've been fighting and scraping to get by...you left me with our drunkard of a father...Sano he did things to me that you can never take away..."
By this time tears were escaping my eyes, I had not cried in so long I had forgotten how to stop them...

"and who are these 'others'?"
"The rest of the shinsengumi"
"Shinsengumi so you did do what you always wanted...I'm happy for you Sano I am but you seem happy..."
I looked up at him with a loving look but still the tears fell.
"I don't want to get in the way now that you've found happiness"
"y/n what are you saying! I came to save you from this life!"

"And you..."
I turned to look at...Shinpachi was it? A nice name it suits him, I think I've fallen hard for this guy, never have I experienced these feelings. It has to be....

"Where you in on all this...all those compliments not because you enjoyed my company but because you were just doing this for Sano!" I yelled at him.

"No! We have been watching you for some months now and-" He slapped his own hand over his mouth realising what he had just said.
"I can't believe this...why Sano...?"
"y/n...."

I ran out the room as fast as I could and out of that place I couldn't bear any more... I ran and ran until I reached the bridge crossing over the stream, there was no one around....it was pitch black apart from the little fire lamps and fireflies dotted around, the night was silent where I was...
I decided to sit on the back by the stream, I slipped off my shoes and socks and stepped into the shallow water, the water felt so nice as it passed through my toes.

"Y/N!?! What are you doing Sano's losing it!"

I looked up to see Shinpachi.....He was the only person right at this second, I felt I could talk to in my calmed mood.

"Shinpachi...."
"You'll catch your death in that cold water here let me help you out!"
He climbed down and to my surprise picked me up bridal style...causing me to go bright red..
"S-Shinpachi...why did you do it?"
"What we can't have you catching cold now can we? Here...."

He ignored me...

He slipped off what little of his top he had on and dried my feet...
"Thank you...but why did Sano?" I said

"He didn't want to get the Shinsengumi into any trouble, he knew he had to handle it himself so I decided to help him and looking at you for all these months, I meant everything I said back there"

I was shocked and simply nodded and went to stand up only to find I couldn't and fell but I was caught...
"Woah, you alright?"
"Y-yes I think my feet are numb form the cold..."
"Well that's what you get you idiot!" He said and lightly hit me on the head and once again picked me up bridal style.
And we began to head back...
"What is Sano gonna think?" I said slightly amused with myself at the thought of Shinpachi carrying me and Sano's shocked face
"I wouldn't put it past him to jump kick me in the head for this" He laughed.
"True true..."

There was once again silence between us...
I can't bear this much longer...
"Hey so y/n all those month we were watching you I kinda got to see you and in a way get to know you and well I was wondering if you would-"

I cut him off by pressing my lips to his and he welcomed it and enjoyed the kiss just as much as I did, as he began to kiss back it made me realise that what my mother once said was true...

Love truly can happen at first sight.

I realised this with Shinpachi , such a man as he is hard to come by strong, trust worthy and loving.

"Shinpachi, am I really good enough for a man like you, I do not deserve you at al-"
"Don't talk such nonsense Your Plenty Good Enough now Sano and I are gonna buy you out of that place and y/n?"
"Hm?"
"Please be mine?"
"You insult me that you even had to ask"
"Sorry"
"Idiot, don't apologise so much I can't wait for Sano to find out, I think you gonna get a lot worse than a jump kick to the head you know..."
"Yeah I figured as much...."
