I woke up from another nightmare. I saw Kenma still sleeping beside me and got out of bed, trying hard not to wake him up. It was the tenth nightmare that night and I was scared to go back to sleep.

So I went downstairs and started baking. I usually never bake. Neither does Kenma. We usually have ice cream at night. I just felt like baking for some reason.

I got all of the ingredients out and started to make the batter for the cake my mom would always bake me for my birthday. It was my all time favorite cake.

I did everything as quietly as possible, cleaning up any mess immediately so Kenma wouldn't know I woke up in the middle of the night.

Once the batter was ready, I went to grab a nine inch pan to put the cake in. Unfortunately, it was in the top a cabinet. I dropped it and it made a loud noise. I quickly picked it up and prayed it didn't wake up my sleeping boyfriend.

I poured the batter into the pan then I heard a soft voice from the stairs.

"Tadashi what are you doing? What was the loud noise?" I turned to see my boyfriend coming down them sleepily.

"N-Nothing! Go back to sleep!"

"Are you baking?" He came over to see the batter in the pan. "How is there not a mess? Everyone makes a mess while baking."

"Oh! I.. uh.. cleaned up after myself every few minutes so you wouldn't know I baked.. I'm sorry.." I began to put my things away.

"Why are you putting everything away? I want to help you. Why were you baking anyway?" I stopped and looked at my boyfriend with dyed hair.

"I couldn't sleep.. My mom also sent me a picture of us baking this cake and saying how disappointed in what I've become and misses when I liked girls and stuff."

"One, that's messed up. Two, that picture is really cute." The catlike boy sat on the counter.

"Please don't sit on the counter.."

"I'm not moving. We'll have to decorate the cake somewhere else other than this spot."

"Whatever kitty.." I put the cake in the oven and set it to 350 degrees. I set the timer to 30 minutes. "Alright. We have thirty minutes. If it's not done by then, then we'll give it another five. What do you want to do?" I turned around to Kenma.

"Did you make frosting?"

"I bought some the other day."

"Sprinkles?"

"Yep."

"Damn you're prepared."

"So what do you want to do while we wait?"

There was silence for a second while we thought. I couldn't close my eyes without seeing the faces of the people in the nightmare, their eyes glased over, but still standing like they were going through their lives, until you come into the room and they turned their heads to look at you. I knew they were all dead. I saw faces I knew. I went to places I knew. I saw Kenma, his eyes glazed over, all white, smiling like he was playing a new game. That was when I woke up.

"You okay? You look scared." Kenma's voice brought me back to reality. I smiled at him and got an idea.

"Do you wanna dance with me?" I grabbed my phone and looked for a song we could dance to together. I put one on and grabbed his hand.

"I guess we could but- Woah!" I pulled my boyfriend off the counter and towards me.

"You okay?"

"Y-Yeah... You just scared me.." He put his hands on my hips and I started the music. We began to dance. I could tell he was enjoying himself and I definitely was.

At the end of the song, the timer for the cake began to beep, signifying to check on it. I opened the oven to see the cake fully done and very fluffy. "Hot pan coming out!"

I set the pan down on a rack and we continued to dance while it cooled down. It was nice, hearing the music, feeling his hand in mine and his arm around my waist, seeing his eyes and that ever so rare smile. If I could just stop this moment and stay like this forever, I would.

"I heard you crying earlier. You were talking in your sleep too. Are you okay?" Kenma asked me. I knew I would have to tell him eventually. I just hoped it wouldn't be so soon. Tears started to well up in my eyes. "Hey.. You don't have to tell me.. Please don't cry Strawberry.."

"I-I'm sorry... I-I just..." I sniffled again, wiping my eyes. "I don't wanna see you like that again.."

"Like what sweetheart?"

"Y-You were.... You were gone..." A look of pure fear appeared on my boyfriend's face in that moment. Then it returned to normal.

"Baby, I'm not gonna leave you! I promise, I could never leave you!"

"Promise..?" I started wiping my tears away.

"I promise baby." The timer we set for cooling the cake finished and I grabbed the frosting and Kenma grabbed the sprinkles. "Why dinosaurs sprinkles?"

"Tsukki picked them. It was between that and Kageyama's choice of volleyballs." I laughed as I explained. He nodded.

"Thank you for picking the dinosaurs." I began to frost. "Are those two together yet?"

"Not yet. Kageyama still thinks he's supposed to be pining for Hinata."

"Who is Shoyo with?"

"Atsumu Miya."

"Ew." He visibly cringed at that.

"I have no idea how, but it works between them." I didn't do that great of a job frosting, but it looked cute. "Can you put the sprinkles on?" He nodded and started shaking the sprinkles on top.

"How often do you two talk about me and Kageyama?" I laughed.

"I talk about you all the time. Tsukki honestly gets annoyed and starts talking about Kageyama being an idiot but he still loves him."

"Aww. Cute."

"I know right?" He stopped shaking the sprinkles and it looked kinda cute. I put a little bit of frosting on his nose.

"Hey!" He started putting sprinkles in my hair.

"Oh it's on Kosume Kenma!"

"Uh oh." He started running to our room.

"YEAH YOU BETTER RUN!" I laughed and looked back at the cake. It looked like a twelve year old made it, but I loved it anyways. I took a picture and ran upstairs to go cuddle with Kenma.
