He thinks he can break you. You will not break. You will not be hurt again.

Kunimi just walked away and put his headphones in. He wouldn't deal with another heart break. He knew what Kumokin was going to say. So he left. He didn't deal with stuff like that.

"Kunimi! There you are!" Akira heard a familiar voice behind him. He just kept walking.

"Not now Kindaichi. I need some alone time."

"Oh. Okay. Hope you're alright."

Kunimi didn't feel bad leaving his friend. It didn't hurt him. It was just the way he was. He just got broken up with for the third time in high school, fifth of all time.

He should've been used to it by now. He wasn't. So, he ran. He ran all the time, but this one was different. He ran fast. He ran as far and as fast as he could.

When the brunette stopped for a breath, he was lost. He knew he was still in Miyagi. You're not fast enough to get out of Miyagi. Nor do you have the stamina. You're not a machine like Karasuno. There were hills everywhere. He was near the top of one.

Great. We're lost. You've got to be kidding me.

There was someone on a jog near him. "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?" The boy looked up at Kunimi. Shit. Not only was he lost, but Kunimi was asking Kageyama Tobio for directions.

"Oh. You're right down the hill from-"

"Never mind." The brunette began to walk away. Kageyama followed him.

"I'm sorry."

"No you're not."

"How do you know? Can you read minds?"

"No, but-" Kageyama pinned Kunimi to the wall. Their faces were close.

"I'm sorry. I still love you." Kunimi blushed and looked away from Kageyama. You're not an idiot kid in middle school anymore. He broke your heart once. It will not happen again.

"You don't care! You never did! You give a damn about me! You are incapable of compassion! If you were, we wouldn't be in this mess." Your heart would be in one piece. There would be no "Chibi~Chan"! We wouldn't be alone.

"If I prove that I still care, will you go out with me?" The light blush on Kunimi's face expanded and became redder.

"Never in a million years. I will not be hurt by you again. Plus, don't you have Chibi~Chan?"

"What? No! Hinata? No way." A flirtatious grin grew on the shorter's face. "I'm into darker hair. And taller. And less excited."

"I need to go home, your highness." The taller boy got away from the setter, starting to walk back in the direction he came again. Kageyama followed him silently, though Kunimi knew he was there.

Kunimi was almost home. There was still a crow on his tail. It was kind of getting annoying.

"We are at my house now. You can go now. Bye." Kunimi turned to Kageyama. He was lying to get away from him. He didn't want to be near someone who broke his heart one time already.

"I'll see you then. I'm sorry for everything. Bye." Kageyama walked back in the direction they came. Kunimi walked in the opposite direction.

Until someone jumped on Kunimi. They pulled him into an alleyway. He couldn't struggle. There was another person holding his hands behind him. The tall boy was helpless. He couldn't yell. They already gagged him. Tears rolled down his face.

Kunimi limped home. Everything hurt. There were marks and bruises all over him. His neck was red. His face had hand prints on it. His wrists had rope marks on them. He felt pain all over.

When he got there, there were two worried boys at his door.

"Kunimi!" Kindaichi saw him first. He ran over to him with the blueberry setter close behind. "What happened?"

"You don't want to know..." Akira backed away from Kindaichi, who was coming in for a hug. Kageyama has always been very observant. He'll notice. He'll notice everything.

"I'm worried about you, Kunimi." Yutaro tried to hug his friend again. He was rejected again. "I need to go home now. Get some sleep Kunimi."

"I will. Bye Kindaichi." With that, it was just Kageyama and Kunimi. "What do you want? I hope you aren't here to patronize me about my body."

"What happened?" Why does he care? He should go home to his little shrimp.

"It's nothing. Go away." Be harder on him. It's payback for what he did to you.

"Akira, please." DON'T LET HIM USE YOUR GIVEN NAME! NOT AFTER WHAT HE DID TO YOU!

"I'm fine, Tobio." WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF?! HE HURT YOU! GET BACK AT HIM!

The shorter boy grabs the other's hand. "Please. I want to help you." WE DON'T NEED HIS HELP!

Kunimi began to cry. He took Kageyama inside and up to his room. He ignored the forever existent yells of his uncle. He locked the door behind him. "You wanna know what happened? I'll show you what happened." He took his shirt off to reveal scars and purple marks all over his upper body. He revealed as much pain as he could without seeming like he like Kageyama. We obviously don't. He's rude and doesn't care. He's just using us. Again.

"Akira..." WHY ARE YOU LETTING HIM CALL YOU THAT?! The voice in his head was getting madder and madder the more Kunimi hung out with Kageyama. It was the cause of his hatred toward the setter.

He's a dictator. A king. He doesn't deserve us. He doesn't deserve you.

The voice was annoying sometimes, reminding him of the pain of middle school. It helped though sometimes. It started getting louder when his heart broke for the first time, when Kageyama became "The King" in middle school.

He couldn't have changed so quickly. He'll hurt you again. Don't let him in.

For now, Kunimi ignored the voice. He hugged Kageyama. "I believe you..." NO! "I.." STOP! YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER! "I forgive you, Tobio.." NO! YOU CAN'T HE HURT YOU! HE HURT US! KAGEYAMA TOBIO CANNOT BE FORGIVEN!

"I'm here Akira.." The brunette cried into the blueberry's arms. He ignored the yells of the voice. He just sat on the bed and cried. For half an hour he cried with Kageyama.

"I-I'm sorry.." The taller boy wiped his eyes. "I-I needed that.."

"It's fine. Like I said, I'm here for you." Kageyama smiled at the taller male. "Like I said, I love you."

"I..." Don't you dare. It would be a lie if you said you love him. "I love you too." The voice went silent. All that was left was the gay panic running through Kunimi's head.

"Your face is very red. I guess you missed me." Kageyama laughed.

"Shut it! I'm still not going out with you."

"But you said-"

"I know what I said! I want to! I really want to! I just can't!" Then something unexpected happened. Their lips connected.

Kunimi had no control over it. He loved it, but he wanted more control. Kageyama is a much better kisser than in middle school. Maybe he's had practice. Akira let Tobio kiss him. It felt good. Kunimi couldn't believe he was feeling this way again. Kageyama was the only one who made him feel this way.

The happiness didn't last. A yell came from downstairs. "You need to go. Out the window. Trust me, you do not want to be here when he gets up here."

"Will you be okay?"

"I deal with this everyday. I'm fine. I promise." Kunimi took Kageyama to the window and gave him a quick peck on the cheek before helping him to the tree next to his window.

"Well well well. Saving your king? What a good knight you are!" Kunimi's drunk uncle came into the room.

"Uncle. What do you need?"

"To beat the shit out of you. Fucking brat." He hit him. Again and again. Until they got to the closet. His uncle grabbed the nearest belt. Note to self, close the closet. Kunimi took the hits. The belt caused more pain, but Kunimi just took it. He did back away, to make sure his uncle didn't get angrier and hit him harder. " 'Your nephew's such a good kid! He's so respectful! You raised him well!' That's all I hear about you! What kind of teenager are you?! Be rebellious! Stupid! Do something!" He kept hitting him.

Don't listen to him. He's wrong. You are perfect. Your mother would be proud. Kunimi caught his uncle's arm before he hit him again. "No."

"What did you just say to me?"

"I said no. I will not be rebellious. My mother wouldn't want me to be. I act how she told me to." A look of hatred showed up on the elder's face. We messed up.. I told you. Shut it.

"I told you to never bring up Miyu. What part of that don't you understand?!" Another blow went straight to Kunimi's face. He felt the blood run down his face. His uncle pushed him onto the ground. "If you bring her up again, you'll be living on the streets. Do I make myself clear?"

"Y-Yes sir..." A tear rolled down Kunimi's face.

"Stop crying. You're fine." Kunimi wiped his eyes.

"Y-Yes sir.." His uncle left the room. As he did, Akira opened the closet and pulled out a backpack. What are you doing? If he hates us so much, why not leave. No! Kunimi, you can't!

Kunimi put clothes into the bag. He put shoes in. As he finished packing, he paused. Are we seriously doing this? Where will we go? Will we be back? No. We will never come back. What if Dad- He doesn't care. He would've come and saved us already. We have to stay. Where will we go? Who knows. Just not here.

As the voices in his head argued, the tall boy went out the window. The voices didn't notice. Kunimi had no idea where he would go. He just left. He didn't stop when his feet started hurting. He didn't stop because of the headache the voices in his head were giving him. He didn't even stop when he saw he was going up the same hill he saw Kageyama on. He didn't stop until he saw the school at the top of the hill. When he saw it, he sat next to the wall near the entrance. "He'll be here soon. I know he will."

Before long, he fell asleep. He didn't even notice the rain. He was under an overhang, so he wasn't getting wet. He slept peacefully.

ᴾⁱᡗᡗᡉʳ ᡖᡃᡗᡗᡉʳ ᡖⁱᡗᡗᡉʳ ᡖᡃᡗᡗᡉʳ ᡖⁱᡗᡗᡉʳ ᡖᡃᡗᡗᡉʳ

Kunimi woke up to the sound of voices and rain.

"It sure is coming down." A softer voice was the first one the brunette heard. It was followed by a much more mature sounding one.

"Sure is. I don't think we're going outside a lot today."

"It's your call. You are the captain after all." Kunimi didn't lift his head. They won't notice you. If it were to happen, it would've happened already. "Wait... Do you see that?" I stand corrected.

"See what?" Kunimi recognized their voices as the Kurasuno third years got closer. It was Sugawara and Daichi. Sugawara had noticed Akira which signaled him to get out of there, but he couldn't move.

"It looks like a person sitting by the gate of the school." They got closer. If we are going to go, we better go now. If they find out where you are from, they will take you to school. We can't have that. He will look for you there.

"Now that we're closer, it really does."

"Hey, are you alright?" Sugawara came over to Kunimi. If he said something, he would be recognized. He left, he would get recognized. If Kageyama or Hinata showed up, he would be recognized. He didn't know what to do, so he stayed quiet. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Just waiting for someone." Kunimi finally said. He could tell that the grey haired boy was getting worried, so he spoke.

"Oh. Who are you waiting for? Is it someone on the volleyball team?"

"Yes. It's fine. I can wait out here. I'll leave as soon as I talk to him." He looked up at the older boy. That is when he was finally fully recognized.

"Oh! Okay! See you later then." The third years left. Kunimi knew they knew who he was waiting for. He knew that was why they left.

Kunimi didn't know how long had passed when Kageyama finally showed up. He just knew he had cried once or twice and had been approached only by Sugawara. The rest of the team just walked past. None of the first years had shown up yet. He knew why now. They were all together.

"Kunimi?" He heard Hinata speak first. All four of them came over to him. No one but Kageyama leaned down.

"Akira, what are you doing here?" Kageyama asked. The given name calling rose a lot of questions from the others, but they would ask later. They were just worried about Kunimi in that moment.

Kunimi reached his arms out to Kageyama as if asking for a hug, which he was. The setter quickly hugged him. "I ran away.." Kunimi whispered into Kageyama's ear. "I couldn't stay there anymore.. He was threatening to kick me out anyways.." Tears began to roll down the wing spiker's face.

"Akira..." The blueberry setter hugged the crying boy tighter. "It'll be ok... I'm here..." Kunimi cried into Kageyama's arms. The other first years were confused, but they didn't ask anything. Like I said, they would ask later.

They left after about a minute of tears though. It was just Kunimi and his blueberry. "I-I'm sorry... I keep doing this..."

"Doing what?'

"Crying.."

"You're fine, Akira. I told you that I'm here for you."

"I love you Tobio..." Kunimi pulled Kageyama closer.

"I love you too."
