Chapter 36

8 MONTHS LATER:

Shehry's POV:

Kahan chali gayi ho tum? Ek baar palat kar bhi nahi dekha? Kya itni asani se bhool gayi tum mujhey?

"Shehry!", I was broken off from my thoughts when Sidra called my name.

I quickly rose from the chair, and shook my head brushing away my thoughts.

Sidra walked in, "Chalein?", she asked, as she rubbed her pregnant belly.

"Lets go.", I nodded.

We headed out of our home, towards the hospital for Sidra's routine check up.

As I waited outside the room, while Sidra was having her ultrasound done, I could not help but think about the last time I had seen Amna in the hospital almost a year ago.

This was one of the reasons why I hated hospitals, and it was the first time after that incident that I was at a hospital.

"Mr. Shehryaar Asif! You can come in now.", the nurse spoke, breaking my from thoughts. She opened the door for me to enter.

Sidra was sitting on the chair going through the reports, while the doctor looked at me with a big smile on her face.

"Should I say or should I let it be a surprise?", the doctor asked me. She was talking about the gender of the baby.

I shrugged my shoulders, and looked at Sidra, who was still staring at the reports blankly, avoiding my gaze.

"Sidra? Tum jaanti ho?", I asked.

"No.", she replied.

"Let it be a surprise, doctor.", I said.

She smiled, "Ahh ofcourse! Surprises are always the best!", she exclaimed, scribbling something on a piece of prescription paper.

"Here are the medicines..."m she spoke looking at Sidra, and she listened to her very carefully while I headed out of the room.

After she was done, I had initially planned to head back home, but on the way, I thought of taking her out for dinner.

I stopped at a restaurant, and she looked at me, as she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"Dinner..", I said.

She didn't ask any questions, and stepped out of the car as we headed into the restaurant.

We sat down at the table, and ordered the food.

While we were waiting, "What do you think?", Sidra broke the silence.

"About what?", I asked not knowing what she was talking about.

"Boy or girl?", she asked, as her hands played with the fork and spoon set on the table.

"I don't know. What do you think?", I asked.

"I don't know either. What do you want?", she questioned back.

"Honestly, mujhey koi farak nahi parta. Larka ho ya larki..main usey utna hi pyaar karunga. Gender is not gonna affect my love for our child."

Sidra's POV:

'Our child', those words touched my heart. No matter how we spent our past year trying to love upto each other's expectations, the fact the he cares for our child just left me in tears.

The food had arrived, and after we ate, we headed back home.

"Goodnight Shehryaar.", I smiled at him, before turning off the lamp on my side of the bed, while he sat leaning against the headboard, working on his laptop.

"Sidra?", he spoke right when I closed my eyes.

"Hmm?", I replied, while my eyes were still closed.

"Itni jaldi kyu so rahi ho?" he said, as I could sense his lips curving into a smile.

"Apko kuch chahiye?", I asked.

"Nai bas aise hi... soch thori der tumse baat kar lu.", he replied, as his fingers clicked away on that keyboard.

"Barey din baad itna pyaar..", I said but stopped myself halfway through the sentence.

"Kyu bhai, apni biwi se baat bhi nahi kar sakta?", he asked.

"Nai..aisi baat nahi...", I replied casually.

"Fir kaisi baat Sidra? Jab bhi main koshish karta hu, apne aap ko khush karne ki, tumhey khush karne ki, tum kuch na kuch keh kar saara mood kharaam kar deti hi yaar..", he said shutting away his laptop, and switching off the light on his side.

"Shehryaar..", I said but he cut me off.

"Sidra, so jao."

"Shehryaar maine aisa kya keh diya? Haan? Batao mujhey! Kya kia hai maine jisse tumhara mood kharab ho gaya? Tum bhi kai cheezein kartey ho jisse mera mood kharab hota hai. But do I say anything? No!", I replied.

"Aisa kya karta hu main, Amna?", he asked, not realizing that he called me Amna.

"Tumhey andaaza bhi hai, kitni dafa tumne mujjhey Amna kaha hai. Man fir bhi cup rehti hu. Kuch nahi kehti. Abhi bhi tumne mujhey Amna kaha.", I said, and he looked down in embarrassment.

'Kaunsi biwi chahti hai ki uska husband usey doosre naam se bulaye?"

*****Author's Note*****

Okay, so the first time ever I was unable to come up with a title name for this chapter. I literally sat thinking for 10 minutes but I just couldn't come up with one.

So help me please? Suggest a name...and I'll choose the best one and give you a shoutout in the next chapter.

Also, a lot of things are left unanswered in this chapter, but things will get clearer in the future chapters. A lot of stuff is yet to be revealed.
