That's all I want

AN: Ahhhhh, I finally finished this chapter! And the story for that matter haha. I was reading through the comments and it gave me a lot of motivation tbh. I'm really sorry this is so late, there were several parts when I had no idea what I wanted to do or what direction I wanted to head in. There is one part where you can tell I was going in one direction and completely swerved out of that. I kept it cause I'm lazy. This chapter could've gone so far, like really far if you know what I mean but this fandom is too new and innocent I figured I shouldn't ruin it just yet haha. I also added the song again to commemorate the end. Anyways, enjoy!

You looked so good in green
I hope you're well

Eda definitely gave Luz a lot to think about. Maybe the note wasn't in fact meant for her. Maybe it was meant for someone else? Maybe Luz misread it? Seemed like a longshot since she's pretty sure how to spell her own name. But one thing was for sure, she should be paying attention to the history lesson.

"Luz!" Willow exclaimed as she shook her and Gus poked her. "Class is over and you've been sitting here, staring off into space, are you okay?"

"Huh, what? Oh, yeah, yeah. I dunno, Eda said some things that got me thinking," Luz replied.

"Oh, well, why don't we talk about it over lunch? That is where we're supposed to be right now," Willow suggested.

"Sure, I just need to grab my lunch from my locker first. I'll meet you two down there."

And you look so good with him

"Lunch, lunch, where are you oh lunch of mine," Luz sang to herself as she dug in the back of her locker's throat, much to its dismay.

"Looking for something?" a voice asked, which startled the Hispanic human. Whipping around so she's leaning against the locker next to hers, Luz discovered the owner of the voice. "Whoops, sorry, didn't mean to startle you."

"It's okay, I'm startled easily." Emira gave Luz a sympathetic smile.

"Haha, I guess I should have known that."

"So, what's up?"

"Oh, I was wondering if you could help me with a project after school."

"Mmmmm..." Luz wasn't sure why she was hesitant. She felt like there was something weighing her down and stopping her from answering right away. What was this feeling and why was it there? "Sure, why the heck not." She shrugged.

"Great! We can meet in your History 101 class. I may be a few minutes late, Edric said he needed something."

"All of these 'somethings', so mysterious." Luz gave a sly smile.

"Uh-huh, what's a Blight without their secrets?" Emira covered her lips with a finger and pursed her lips against it, which made Luz blush. A lot.

"Mmmm, secrets? What kind of secrets?" Luz asked, keeping her sly smile.

"The kind that are best kept secret." Emira booped her on the nose and giggled when she saw how flustered Luz got. "Were you on your way to lunch? I can walk you down if you want."

"Yeah, su-"

And I'm proud of you still

Amity didn't sleep last night and was currently on her (hopefully only) fifth cup of coffee since tea wasn't working. She had been seriously on edge and even crankier than usual all morning. Grumbling to herself while finishing her last sip, she threw the styrofoam cup away on her way to her locker, but stopped in her tracks. Her eyes went wide and she gritted her teeth. She marched towards the pair, trying not to bump into anyone along her way.

"Were you on your way to lunch? I can walk you down if you want," Emira offered.

"Yeah, su-" Luz started to reply before she was interrupted.

"Actually," Amity piped in, grabbing Luz by the wrist, "WE were just on our way to lunch." Amity pulled Luz away from Emira, much to Luz's confusion.

"Amity? Where are we going?" Luz asked, but Amity didn't answer. Luz watched her, as she seemed to be scanning the hall walls, looking for something. Amity found what she was looking for, opened the door, and practically stuffed Luz inside, closing the door behind herself. "A janitor's closet? Amity, what are we-"

"You can't hang out with Emira anymore," Amity blurted.

"Wait, what?"

"You can't hang out with Emira. I overheard her talking to Edric last night, she's up to something and I can tell it's not good-" Luz took a good look at Amity, seeing every detail of her point to insanity. She had dark bags under her eyes, smelled like black coffee, and her usually perfect half ponytail was anything but. Luz raised an eyebrow.

"You mean to tell me that the first thing you say to me since what happened a couple of days ago is to not hang out with your sister?" Luz questioned.

"I- uh-" Amity stopped to think. Was this really the first thing she wanted to say to Luz after what happened? "I was just concerned-" The hand that was still around Luz's wrist travelled down to her hand and held it.

"Concerned?" Luz took her hand back, crossed her arms, and watched Amity's eyes widen. "Amity, please. If reading fanfiction for years has taught me anything, it's that you sound more jealous than concerned." Amity scoffed.

"What? Me? Jealous? I'm not jealous! Why would I be jealous of my sister hanging out with you, and holding your hand, walking you to lunch..." Amity rambled and trailed off.

"Jea-lous," Luz sang as she brought her face close to Amity's and put on a smirk which made Amity blush madly.

"I am not- mhm, fine, you wanna play this game?" Amity took Luz by her collar. "Then let's play." Amity grabbed Luz's collar and swung her around, pushing her against the wall behind her. This surprised Luz, and Amity kind of.

"Wha-?"

"Admit that I'm not jealous!" Amity spat.

"Amity, you're being ridiculous-"

"Admit it!"

"Ay Dios mío, fine, you're not jealous," Luz gave in, throwing her hands in the air as Amity let go of her collar, stepping back. Luz took a deep breath before opening her mouth again. "If you're so set on Emira being up to something, then what exactly is she up to?" Luz raised an eyebrow.

"I... don't... actually know," Amity mumbled, just loud enough for Luz to hear. "But, please, you have to believe that this has to be anything but good-"

"Amity, I don't know what to believe. You've given me mixed signals for the past few weeks. I am confused, Amity. I don't understand. You blew up in my face after we kissed and the first thing you say to me is to stay away from someone as if you own me." Luz stepped closer and grabbed both of Amity's hands with her own. "Amity, I really want to go back to being friends, but it seems like you have some things you need to sort out first." The two were startled by a grumbling coming from someone's stomach. "I should get to lunch, Willow and Gus are waiting for me." Luz slowly opened the door. "I'll see you around." She gave Amity a weak smile and left the closet, leaving a distraught Blight.

Finally getting her lunch from her locker, Luz mumbled "And if fanfiction has taught me another thing, it's that that is not what happens when you get dragged into a closet with someone," as she walked off to the cafeteria.

Take care of my shirt

"There you are! We were worried about you. Where have you been?" Gus asked when Luz sat down at their normal table.

"Oh, you know, getting dragged into a closet with Amity. The usual." Luz nervously chuckled.

"Woah, what? What happened?" Willow asked. Luz shrugged.

"I'm not entirely sure. One minute I was talking to Emira and the next I'm getting pulled away by Amity, saying I shouldn't trust Emira."

"Why would she say that?"

"Amity claims she has some sort of 'plan' involving me but she has no idea what it is," Luz explained, air quoting the word plan.

"What was that?" Gus asked.

"What was what?" Luz asked, confused.

"That thing you were just doing with your fingers when you said plan." Gus mimicked the weird finger gesture Luz was doing earlier.

"Oh, they're air quotes. It's what humans do to express sarcasm sometimes." Luz watched as Willow and Gus did the gesture excessively, making Luz giggle.

"Hey cutie," a voice behind Luz said. "What's going on over here?" Emira asked as she and Edric sat next to Luz.

"Oh, hey Emira, hey Edric!"

"What are you guys doing?" Edric asked, confused while also trying out the strange motion with his fingers.

"Just teaching them a human thing." Luz explained. Luz looked at Gus and Willow and saw their slightly confused expressions, which confused Luz until she realized. "Aye Dios mío, I almost forgot. Emira and Edric, meet Gus and Willow. Gus and Willow, meet-"

"We know who they are, we're just not used to people of their social status noticing us," Willow explained.

"We also already know Willow, she used to hang out with Mittens," Emira added.

"Oh, right, I guess that should have been a given." Luz chuckled.

"Speaking of Mittens." Luz saw that Edric's head was turned in the opposite direction, looking at the devil herself. "Hey Mittens!" he called out to her, catching Amity's attention, who was on her way to her seat. She looked up, revealing the heavy look she had on her face. Her face turned red when she saw her siblings but softened and dropped when she saw Luz. Luz saw this and immediately looked down. Amity sighed and walked off to where Boscha and Skara were sitting.

"I assume Mittens pulling you off didn't end well?" Emira asked.

"No." Luz sighed.

"Wait, what? What's going on?" Edric asked, confused.

"You didn't tell him?" Luz asked, surprised.

"Tell me what? What is going on?" Edric looked at Emira with confused and pleading eyes. "Please, Em? We're supposed to tell each other everything." Emira sighed.

"It's nothing much, Ed. Luz and Mittens are just in a rough patch right now, that's all," Emira explained.

"That's one way of putting it." Luz lightly chuckled.

"Hey, you two will get through this," Emira reassured, putting an arm around Luz's shoulders. "Knowing the both of you, you'll pull through."

"Haha, yeah, thanks."

"Anytime!" Emira summoned her scroll and glanced at the lock screen."Oh, look at the time, I promised my next professor I'd get there early to chat. I'll see you guys later. Come on, Ed." She and Edric waved goodbye and walked off and out of the cafeteria.

"Bye," Luz barely whispered.

Warm and red

It was finally after school, the time Luz had been anticipating. Not only was she supposed to meet up with Emira, but she had all her lecture classes that day so she was glad they were over and done with. Grabbing the rest of her stuff out of her locker, she started heading over to the History 101 class. She would have ran, but she decided there was no need to be in a hurry since Emira said she would be a tad bit late. Arriving at her destination and sticking her head in the doorway, she saw that the students and the teacher had already left. Shrugging, she plopped cross legged on a front row desk and pulled out her phone and earbuds. She put them in her ears, turned on her girl in red and Cavetown playlist, and decided to catch up on a fanfiction she recently downloaded. Playing with the bashert stone Emira gave her yesterday in one hand, she found the chapter she left off on. The rock was glowing a bit, but she shrugged it off and started to read.

The world around her seemed to have faded away as she lost herself in the words she was hearing and reading.

I hope you think of me

"What do you mean you left something in my History 101 class? How could you even do that? You don't even have that class. You- what? I don't understand- Yeah, well it serves you right for dropping your lipstick, that's what you get for crawling around in the vents instead of going to class! Ugh, fine, but just this once! Yeah, yeah, I'm the best. You owe me!" And with that, Amity hung up on Emira and started to head towards the room. She mumbled and grumbled to herself in the empty hallways all the way to the room.

Peering into the questionably open door, she spotted something she didn't expect to see so soon. There was Luz, sitting on top of a desk, hunched over her phone with some weird wires coming out of her head. There was also a small pink stone in front of her that she recognized as a bashert stone. Probably the one Emira gave her yesterday. Luz didn't seem to notice her, she was too entranced by her device to hear or see her come in.

Amity didn't know what to do. On one hand, she could just bail and not get what Emira left, it was her problem after all. But Amity didn't want to find out what would happen to her if she showed up to the Blight Manor without what Emira had requested of her. On the other hand, she could walk by Luz and act as if she didn't see her, but she would risk Luz seeing her and knowing Luz, she would perk up the conversation Amity wasn't ready to have.

Amity watched as the girl put down her phone to pick up the rock but once she touched it, it shone a blinding light, causing her to drop it. Luz looked up, noticing a figure at the door.

Still as your friend

"Amity?" Luz genuinely asked, still a little dazed from the light and took out an earbud out of her ear. Figuring out it was her, she asked "What are you doing here?"

"Luz, I-" Amity didn't know what to say, especially after the bright light the bashert stone produced. She could say the truth but she didn't think that that's what Luz would want to hear. Disregarding literally everything, she said "You know you really shouldn't be sitting on a desk." Luz huffed.

"You can't control me, Blight." Luz looked back down to her phone and started scrolling through. "Not anymore."

"Anymore? What do you mean by anymore? I never controlled you."

"Maybe not on purpose, but my feelings for you did. Everywhere you were, I wanted to be. Half the time I started a conversation with you was to just hear your voice. I would study forever just to try and impress you with good grades. I would sort through human trash to try to find something that you might like. I would stay up late at night, listening to girl in red, giggling to myself at the slim possibility that that could be us. You were always on my mind, but I never seemed to be on yours."

"Luz I-" Amity had to stop herself from saying something she might regret. She started to walk up to the girl. "I never asked you to do any of that."

"Aye Dios mío, there you go again, playing the victim." Luz had enough of this. She uncrossed her legs and let them dangle off the table in the direction the green haired girl was. "¿Cuándo aprenderás a cerrar la boca? El mundo no gira a tu alrededor. Bueno, tal vez lo mío, pero no todos los demás! ¡Ugh, usted puede ser tan furioso y manipulativo que no puedo tomarlo! ¡No puedo entender por qué te amo!" Luz gasped and covered her mouth. "Te... amo..." she repeated slowly and softly. The words she thought would taste so bitter and sour tasted so sweet and it caught her off guard. "Por eso brillaba la piedra bashert," she mumbled. Amity, on the other hand, was confused as heck, only able to make out the word 'bashert' in the last thing she said.

I hope you love yourself

"Te amo? What does that mean?" Amity asked, genuinely confused. "And what about your bashert stone?"

"Oh, haha, nothing, it means nothing, not the word nothing, it doesn't mean anything," Luz rambled, completely disregarding Amity's question about the stone. By then, Amity was right in front of her and the desk, trying to read Luz's strange expression. She raised an eyebrow.

"Right..." Amity simply said. Luz relaxed her expression and sighed.

"Look, can we just skip the bickering and finally get to the apology part? I really want to be friends with you again." Luz almost whispered the last part, but Amity heard it all too well. Was that really what Amity wanted though? To go back to the constant pretending that they were just friends and could be nothing more? To go back to the sleepless nights of wondering what she should do next and if she should do anything? Would they pretend that nothing happened? Is that what she really wanted? Was it worth it?

Your body and heart

No.

That's not what Amity wanted at all. She was so tired of it all. She wanted to take a risk and try to move forward in their relationship.

"I don't wanna be your friend! I wanna-" Amity had to hold her tongue and think carefully of her next words.

"What is it that you want, Blight?" Luz asked softly, leaning in closer to the other girl. Amity saw the twinkle in the brown eyes of the girl and in that moment, she didn't think, especially the consequences that could arise.

"I wanna kiss your lips," Amity whispered as she crashed her lips into Luz's. Her eyes widened, confused on the sudden change of atmosphere. Amity realized Luz wasn't exactly accepting the kiss so she suddenly pulled back right as Luz was about to give in. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" she rambled.

"It's okay-" Luz tried to reassure.

"No, no it's not. I shouldn't have- I just- I should have apologized first." She sighed and looked at the floor. "Luz, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for pushing you away, I'm sorry for being rude. I was just scared. Scared of my parents, scared of my reputation- just scared. Yes, that letter was meant for you but the truth is that I wasn't sure if I should've given it to you. I was terrified of every possible outcome of giving it to you. I've never had a crush before, so I have no idea what it's like and I was scared I had it wrong." Amity took a deep breath. "I'm not brave and free and careless like you. You're not scared of taking risks, I just wish I could be more like you." She looked up, cautiously waiting for the human's response.

"Amity, I-" Luz didn't know what to say. She wasn't exactly expecting all of that from the witch but she was glad she said it. But Luz felt a little guilty herself. "I'm sorry as well. I shouldn't have forced you to do something you weren't ready for and I shouldn't have been so rude about it too."

"It's okay." Amity chuckled, causing Luz to as well.

"Now that that's all out of the way," Luz's smile grew into a smirk and her face turned smug. "Tell me again what is it that you want, Blight?" Amity smirked as well and leaned into Luz's ear.

"To kiss you, Noceda," she whispered. She leaned back a bit and looked into the brunette's eyes looking back at her. Both pairs of eyes looked down at the other's lips, inching closer and closer until they could feel the impact. It was soft and unsure at first but when they found a rhythm, everything fell into place.

And in that moment, everything started to fade away. All their worries, all their regrets, gone into the wind. Amity cupped Luz's face and brought her in closer, wanting to feel more. The latter snaked her hand up Amity's back to grab a fistful of hair, pulling the girl on top of her. They broke apart, gasping for air.

"Hey, Amity," Luz whispered.

"Hmmm," Amity hummed.

"Te amo." Luz smirked and leaned in for more and Amity happily complied.

I hope you feel happy

"To kiss you, Noceda."

Whack!

"Ow! What the heck was that for!" Edric whisper screamed at his attacker, retreating from the door frame they were peering through.

"Let our baby sister have some privacy!" Emira whisper screamed back, leading Edric down the hall so they wouldn't get caught

"I was about to pull back before you whacked me! Anyways, are you okay?"

"Uh, yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" Emira asked, confused.

"I don't know I thought you were starting to like Luz cause you kept trying to hang out with her." Emira laughed.

"No way baby bro, it was all part of my scheme."

"So, are you finally going to tell me this scheme you had for those two?"

"Well now that it's done, yes. When I found Luz crying in the restroom the other day and saying how Mittens pushed her away I knew Mittens needed a little push in the right direction to get what she wanted. But I also thought Luz needed a push too which is why I gave her a bashert stone to help nudge her a bit and fight for what she wanted as well."

"I was wondering why you gave her that. Wait, didn't it glow really bright in the cave? Do you think Mittens was sneaking around in there when we were there?" Edric asked, putting the puzzle pieces together like a two-year-old.

"Most likely. Anyways, knowing how Mittens easily gets jealous, I decided to hang around Luz to see if that would stir up anything. I wasn't working so I thought that they may need an extra shove, hence why they're in the classroom together right now. She pulled Luz from me earlier so I hoped that was maybe a sign which is why I took us over to her table to check on her. I guess Mittens had other plans cause clearly that was not what happened. But look at them now! They made up and are probably making out. Am I a genius or am I a genius?" Emira flipped her braid and put her hand on her hip.

"I will admit, that was pretty genius of you, but I have one question."

"Which is?" Emira raised an eyebrow.

"Who do you like?" Edric asked, emphasizing on the word 'do'.

"Oh, I have my eyes on a certain healing beast keeper." Emira chuckled, while Edric looked confused. He gasped when he finally put the pieces together.

That's all I want

AN: I'm about to go into a whole rant so first off, thank you for all your love and support. I don't want to loose you guys! Add or follow me on my social medias! (I also saw some of the names of the reading lists you put this in like 'make into a comic' or something so if anyone does do that feel free to tag me or add a link to the fic! Anyways, I really hope you enjoyed this. I originally started this fic for this chapter honestly which is why it took so long to perfect, but I admit it's not. It's all over the place and I wanted it to go to other places but I knew a lot of you would not like that and have my head for it lol. Maybe I'll post the nsfw version of this chapter, only if people want it cause I know there's a whole thing going around with that they're only fourteen so it's wrong. I've been seeing a lot of "oh don't make Lumity sexual content, they're just kids and should be portrayed as such" and it's not that I'm against that but why are we starting to enforce stuff like this now? Like, don't get me wrong, I understand completely and entirely where they're coming from but the thing is that The Owl House wouldn't be the first children's cartoon with sexual content.

I specifically saw this post on Instagram that was a repost from some other social media platform saying that they're fourteen and just kids and even if you age them up they shouldn't be doing stuff like that. I got thinking and I was like "fourteen sounds like a familiar age" and I was like oh Star and Marco (actually I just looked it up and they're fifteen but still that's like practically the same age). I don't know if the same thing was said about them when the show first came out cause I joined the fandom some time during season two but I have stumbled upon some Jesus needing content. Plus, if you've been deep in the fandom then you would know about THAT comic. Basically, what makes Lumity any different from Starco?

Also, Miraculous Ladybug. Like, damn. Marinette and Adrien are about fourteen and holy Jesus the fandom does not portray them as such. And I have one word for you Miraculous peeps, Marichat. They had literally like three scenes together and they're like the sexual angst ship (not that it's not my favorite Miraculous ship haha) So, I mean like again- 🤷‍♀️

What I'm trying to say is that there are ships out there that are about the same age and they get sexual content without half the fandom criticizing them. Again, I completely understand where they're coming from, but I also in a way don't at the same time. Is it because TOH attracted an older audience and some of them don't want the others to ruin it for them or the kids that watch the show? Did Dana say something and I completely missed it?

I just think that some people need a different outlet than others or express their creativity in a different way and we shouldn't shame them for it. If you don't want to read or see it, then don't look it up. If you do write or draw it, then put an ACCURATE warning.

Also like, this is fanfiction and fan art. It's about taking existing characters and putting them in fantasy situations because we know we won't be able to experience it ourselves or it's just something we want to see the characters in. If you don't like it then you don't like it but don't tell others it's wrong or bad if you don't like it, that's their creative outlet, ya know? Idk if I'm getting my point across haha.

Idk just some food for thought and if anyone would like to discuss feel free anywho have a nice day and thank you again for reading! 😘
