Remember me? ♡ Irene

A/N - I am going to change the formatting of my chapters from now on. It's not left aligned anymore but on the center. I have also put in bold when a character says something. Hope that's okay. Enjoy :).

It was a lovely day. The sun was out shining brightly and there were birds chirping everywhere.

Meanwhile, you strolled through the city, your bag in your hand. The smell of food lingering in the air made your stomach growl.

Luckily there was a food shop nearby so you made your way to it, already thinking of what you were going to order.

You entered the shop and where stunned when you looked at the long line of people.

"Guess everyone's grabbing a bite to eat." You said to yourself, chuckling afterwards.

A couple minutes passed and finally, it was your turn to order. You made your way to the cashier and told her what you wanted.

It was something quite simple but delicious. A sandwich with a soda.

The cashier gave you your order and you payed, going to go sit at one of the tables in the shop shortly afterwards.

Setting your stuff down, something familiar caught your attention. Or should I say, someone.

It was a beautiful girl sitting across the room from you.

As you were looking at her, you realized it was no ordinary girl.

It was your ex. Irene.

A long time ago, you both decided to end your relationship because things didn't seem to click the way they used to.

Both of you were always arguing and such, thus it lead to where you both stand today.

You debated whether you should go to her. You didn't want to make it awkward since, well, that happened.

It was a lovely day after all and you didn't want to ruin it by going to go talk to her and possibly starting an argument, so you decided to stay seated and simply enjoy your lunch.

And so you did.

It was nearing the end of your meal so you started packing up your belongings. You stood up and made your way to the exit, but you stopped when you felt a pair of hands on your back.

To your surprise, it was Irene. She was standing there looking at you with a sheepish grin.

"Hey. Leaving so soon?" She questioned while giving you a look of uncertainty.

"Yeah.. I just finished my lunch." You responded as thoughts started flooding in your head.

You wondered why she was even speaking to you.

"Oh. How about you stay a little longer? Maybe you can spend some time with me and chat a little." She replied to you while fidgeting with her fingers, anxiously waiting for your response.

She couldn't deny that she was nervous and secretly hoping that you would agree.

You hesitated, but when you saw the look of genuine sorrow on her face, you knew you couldn't decline the offer.

Even though you were not together anymore you still care about her and don't want to see her sad or nervous. Hell you'd even do anything she asks you to in a heartbeat.

"Okay. Sure." You told her as she quickly smiled afterwards and let out a sigh of relief, all her worries gone in an instinct.

She walked to a table and sat down, signaling for you to come with her.

You both got seated and she immediately started talking.

"So, Y/n, how have you been?"

"I've been good. Things have been lovely. How about you? How have you been?" You questioned.

"Good as well. I've been busy this past month because I've been working on our latest comeback. I've been having so much fun with the girls too." She said. You could sense the excitement in her voice.

To add to that, you couldn't even deny that seeing her happy made you happy as well.

You enjoyed hearing her talk about something that she loved.

"That's great, Irene. I'm happy for you."

"Thanks. But it's not the same." She said with a heavy sigh.

"What do you mean?" You asked, confusion evident in your voice.

"What I mean is that it's not the same without you. You were always there cheering me on and giving me the motivational support which I desperately needed when we were together. I would come come to you being there supporting me which always made me happier in some way. You always helped me get through the day and now that you're not there, it just feels.. different."

Almost immediately, you could feel your heart sink a little. It made you feel sad when you saw her sad.

Not only that, but you wondered where this was all coming from.

Did she genuinely mean it?

Irene placed her hand on yours when you didn't say anything. For a moment you both stayed like that, not saying anything. That is, until you spoke up.

"That makes me sad to hear. You know that you could always come to me when you need it, right? Even if it's just as friends, I'll always be there." You said, giving her a sad smile.

"No! No. I don't want it to be like that. I don't want you supporting me as just a friend. I love you too much for that, Y/n. And even if you did support me in that way, I wouldn't be able to contain my feelings towards you to myself. You deserve better than that. You were such an amazing girlfriend to me and you deserve the same." Irene said while giving your hand a gentle squeeze.

She was wondering if maybe she had said too much. Maybe this was the wrong time to confess how she's been feeling.

Then, she looked down as she felt butterflies in her stomach. Even though you both had known each other for a long time, every time she saw you she couldn't help but feel all giddy and excited.

"I feel the same way. It's not the same without you, Irene. I've missed you." You told her as she blushed, almost giggling to herself.

"What do you say if we get out of here? We can spend the day together." She asked you to which you nodded and stood up, following her to the exit of the shop.

You both reached the door and she opened it for you.

"After you, lovely." She said with a smile.

Almost immediately you felt butterflies in your stomach.

The day went on and you both had so much fun.

You went to get ice cream, to the park, to the movies, and afterwards when it was starting to get late, she took you home.

She stood there outside of your front door after your day out, contemplating on her next move.

"Thank you for this, Irene. It was lovely. I had so much fun." You told her as you twirled your hair, blushing a little.

"I'm glad to hear that. We should do this another time."

"Most definitely. It's getting late so I should probably head inside, though. Have a good night." You said as you turned, unlocking the door to your house.

Then, unexpectedly, she turned you over and looked at you in the eyes.

She then got closer and gave you a hug.

She couldn't do it. She was debating whether to kiss you or not but she just couldn't.

She was too nervous and you were bummed because of that.

"Irene," You said with a chuckle, looking at her.

"I'm sorry Y/n, I want to kiss you." She said anxiously.

"Don't be silly. Come here."

She got closer to you and looked down to your lips and back to your eyes. She then kissed you so lovingly that you felt your knees go weak.

You had needed this, just a little loving from her. Deep inside she could feel her heart beating so fast. Those butterflies that she once felt in her stomach turned into wild dragons at this point.

You both pulled away shortly afterwards and she smiled.

"It was lovely seeing you. See you later, babe."

As she walked away, you were there left speechless but went inside your home anyway.

This is what you wanted and you finally had it.

You couldn't be any more happier than this.
