It was only 3 in the morning when you were awoken by a large thud coming from the kitchen.

Almost immediately you turned to the other side of the bed to wake up Yuqi, but she wasn't there much to your dismay.

Where could she be? It was late at night and she had no business elsewhere but right here in your comfy bed.

You knew you had no choice but to go to the kitchen to see what was going on, so you put on your slippers and made your way downstairs.

Maybe she could be getting a midnight snack, or maybe watching something on television?

So many things were crossing your mind.

As you finally took your last step to reach the kitchen, you realized there was something or someone behind the counter which startled you.

You poked your head from behind the wall and sighed in relief when you realized that it was your girlfriend standing there.

"Yuqi! What are you doing?" You asked as she almost jumped before turning to look at you.

"Oh, babe! You scared me." She said before laughing a little.

"Sorry, but what are you doing? You do realize that it's 3 in the morning right? We both have to get up early tomorrow." You said as you approached her.

"I know.. the thing is I woke up and was a little hungry. I came to grab something and this caught my eye.. but to be honest, I don't know how to make some." She said while holding up a box which read, Brownie Mix.

"Oh? You don't know how to make brownies?"

She shook her head with a laugh.

"No. You can teach me though, right?"

You badly wanted to say yes, but hesitated once you looked at the time on your phone.

"I don't know, babe. It's late and we have to wake up early in a bit. Maybe tomorrow though when we both have free time. Does that sound like a plan?" You questioned as you placed your hand on hers with a smile.

Yuqi shook her head and crossed her arms.

"What? Why not now? I can take the day off tomorrow, you know. And so can you. We never have free time together and you know it, Y/n."

You were about to respond but were cut off when she once again spoke.

"Please? I'll take you on a date and we will have so much fun. We can even visit the girls, if that gets you to say yes!" She questioned while coming to you with a big smile which almost made you melt.

You couldn't say no.

"Okay, fine. But just this time! I don't want you to get in trouble because of me."

Hey eyes immediately lit up with happiness, a sight that always made you happy.

"Even if I do.. so what? If you are the reason behind it, it's worth it. It'll always be." She said with excitement before looking over at the box of brownie mix.

"So.. are we going to bake or not? These brownies won't bake themselves."

You laughed before nodding and kissing her cheek.

"Of course. Why don't we start be you grabbing that bowl over there? Bring it to me so we can start." Yuqi nodded and went to grab the bowl. She then handed it to you.

You could tell that she was genuinely excited and happy to be spending time with you, and honestly you were too.

You both were always so busy working day and night and you needed a break, even if it was just for a day.

A couple minutes passed and now that the mix was completely poured into the bowl, you grabbed some ingredients you needed from the fridge and made your way back to the counter.

You didn't even notice but the whole time she was staring at you in awe. Her hand was leaning on the counter with her head right over it, simply looking at you with an adoring gaze.

"We should do this more often, you know. I enjoy this." She said with a smile.

You looked through the corner of your eyes and smiled back before starting to put all the ingredients together in the bowl.

"Oh? But you're not even doing anything! You're just standing and watching." You replied with a chuckle.

"Exactly. I could do this all day." She said with a wink before biting her lip.

You knew she was only playing around, but you couldn't help but feel your heart race.

You returned to making your brownies, now mixing everything together in the bowl.

"Oh, babe, that's not how it's done! Let me help you out." She said before coming up from behind you, proceeding to wrap her arms around your waist. Then she placed her hands on yours to help you mix the mixture.

She slowly but surely helped you move your hands in a circular motion to mix everything together.

"Just like that. And that's how you mix it correctly." She said with a grin, then placing the mixture in a tray.

"But I thought you didn't know how? I thought you wanted me to teach you." You laughed.

"Well.. can you blame me? When I have someone just as beautiful as you, I really can't help myself." Yuqi smiled, kissing your shoulder right after.

"Okay, then I could teach you to put it in the oven. Come so I could show you."

You both made your way to the oven, putting the tray in it and heating it up.

"Great! They'll be out in a little." You smiled before turning to Yuqi who had a big smirk on her face.

"You know what that means.. right? I have you all to myself." She chuckled.

"Okay. I'm not complaining" You replied, smiling back.

"Then come cuddle with me on the couch while the brownies are baking, lovely."

You both laughed as she pulled you towards the couch, both of you taking a seat.

It was about 3:30 in the morning now.

"I've missed you like crazy." She said before pushing her lips onto yours, slowly running her hands through your hair.

"Me too. I'm glad we have time together now." You giggled.

"We can have all the time together that you want, cutie. Just say what you want to do." Yuqi smiled, her smile making your heart flutter.

"I just want to spend time with you."

"Okay." She grinned as she pulled you closer. Her arms were wrapped tightly around your body and you felt so comfortable, you didn't even want to move.

"I love you so much. I'm sorry if I woke you from your sleep." She said while resting her head on yours.

"Are you kidding? I don't mind, not at all if I get to be with you." You laughed as you felt secure in her embrace.

But she only.. pouted.

"What? Don't look at me like that." You said as you turned to look at her, only to find her already doing so.

"Say it back. Tell me that you love me back or I'll tickle you!" She said as she prepared to tickle you, her lips spread into a smile as she tried not to laugh.

"But-"

"No! Tell me that you love me or be prepared for a tickle fight."

She only started tickling you across your stomach when you didn't say anything back.

You tried to let out a word, anything, but you couldn't stop laughing.

She didn't stop, she kept tickling you everywhere until you finally said the words she wanted to hear.

She herself couldn't stop herself from laughing as well. Her heart was nearly bursting in her chest.

"Okay, okay- fine! I love you too." You let out in giggles as she finally stopped.

"Good. That's what I wanted to hear." She said with a smile.

"Geez, I felt like I couldn't breathe!" You said as you calmed down from laughing.

"Yeah, because I take your breath away. Don't I?" She laughed as she kissed all along your skin.

"Of course, babe." You said happily, enjoying the feeling.

She was truly happy to have you in her arms. It felt like she was on top of the world.

"You're so beautiful. How could I get so lucky to have someone like you?" She said as she stared at you, her heart fluttering as she did so.

She was closely looking at you, so of course she noticed when you yawned just a little.

"Tired, cutie?"

You nodded and she smiled.

"Then let's sleep, baby. Sweet dreams, beautiful. Thanks for this fun night." She said as she pulled you close, sharing a quick, loving kiss with you.

"Good night babe." You replied as you both drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.

Time skip

Yuqi wasn't sure why but when she woke up, she heard a loud beeping sound.

She could also smell some gas in the air.

She turned her head and to her horror, she realized that the brownies you both were baking last night were still in the oven.

She quickly took action and woke you up frantically.

"Y/n! Wake up! We forgot to take out the brownies!"

"Yeah.. please get me some." You replied before turning over sleepily.

"No, seriously! The house is about to burn down!" She yelled.

It was only then that she got you to bolt up from your deep slumber.

"What? Why didn't you wake me up?"  You said as you both sprinted to the kitchen to turn off the oven.

"Oh, dear. This is a mess." You sighed as you took out the tray of brownies.

"Ugh.." She whined as she looked at you.

Just then, you realized that you both had messed up.

And it was understandable.
