I know I said the next chapter was gonna be backstories but I lost motivation so I shall come back to it later  -w-

If you get confused just remember that I'm gonna be clearing a few things in the backstory chapter later

Anyways.... here's the next chapter

~Dabi's pov~

He watched as Hawks gently dozed off once again, black feathers quivering as he drew in a shuddering breath. Dabi could let him go. Even if he had to quit the League. There was no way he was gonna let him go again, but what if Hawks didn't want to be with him? It would be dangerous too, since the League would be after him and probably the heroes too after they learn that Hawks was with him.

They'd be outcasts, shunned for and stoned. No. Dabi couldn't spiral now. He had to keep Hawks happy, even if it's the last thing he's gonna do. But now he's just gonna see how things play out.

It wasn't long before Hawks had woken again, still staring intensly at Dabi with those dull golden eyes.

"Are you hungry?" Dabi asked gently.

Hawks just brought his wings around himself tighter as the tension grew between them.

"No. Lets talk first." Hawks muttered.

Dabi felt his heartbeat quicken at the sudden confidence from Hawks but said nothing.

"Ok." was all he said.

Hawks propped himself up by his hands and crossed his legs. Dabi too sat up, not wanting him to think that he wasn't taking him seriously.

"Keigo. I want you to answer this carefully. Do you still love me?"Dabi said, getting straight to the point.

Hawks eyes widen as a bitter smil spread to his lips.

"Love!? You really wanna go there? Touya, don't throw this bullshit to me. I had the exact, if not worse childhood than you. Then I met you. What happened next? You left me"

Dabi cringed at his words, but one thing was clear. Hawks was too broken. He could see the tears forming in Hawks's eyes as he tried to hold it in.

"I'm sorry Keigo. I was scared ok? I really didn't mean to forget. You know what they did to me." " Dabi pleaded.

Hawks's eyes narrowed.

"Don't you dare play the blame game Touya. I punished myself for Jin's death. I really did." Hawks said between tears. He pulled his sleeves up and Dabi could see his pale skin littered with scars. Not from Giran. Not from Toga...

"I can't even feel anything anymore. Love is fucking useless."

Dabi felt his mind freeze. Everything was blurred. And when his vision was focused again, he found himself staring at Hawks, his hands holding onto his collar. Without thinking, Dabi pulled him closer and kissed him.

It wasn't forced, but just the mere connection between the the two made a spark. They really were two sides of the same coin.

"Keigo, I know I hurt you. But I'm gonna make up for it with the rest of my life, whether you like it or not."

...

~Hawks' pov~

It was hard. Hard to know what the hell he was feeling after all this time. No matter how hard he tried, there was nothing. Emptiness. No emotions, except maybe sadness. It was like that old spark of his was gone. Disappeared.

Maybe it was the flowers. Giran has removed it all. Now Dabi was just a normal villain to him. Quite sad honestly. A human that's couldn't even feel? What kind of 'thing' was that? He was just some programme to society. That was all.

"How would you feel if I said I didn't feel anything towards you?"

"Are you still gonna love me?"

Dabi had a shocked expression on his face, but then his eyes hardened.

"Yes. Keigo, I swear on my life that I will love you forever. Even if you don't love me back."

Lies.

"You left me once, who says you won't do it again?" Hawks muttered.

Dabi looked hurt but he reached out a hand towards Hawks. He flinched, black wings immediately spread out in front of him for protection. Waiting for a slap, or maybe something worse. Nothing came.

"I-I'm sorry sir, I spoke out of hand, please I won't do it again. Please don't hurt me I p-promise I'll be good."

Hawks couldn't control the words just rushing out of his mouth. It was an old habit, back at the Hero course, and with Giran. Even now, he was still caught up in the past.

Dabi scooted closet to Hawks and gently brushed his wings aside.

"I need you to trust me Keigo. I was really stupid, but please, give me one more chance. I will never hurt you."

Hawks raised his head.

"Why didn't you just kill me that time in the alleyway?"

Dabi hesitated.

"I didn't know what feelings I was feeling, but all I can say now is that I really do love you."

Hawks felt something stir inside him, but still, there was nothing. He grabbed Dabi by the hand, like it was his only lifeline. Which in this case, it was.

"Do you promise to be there for me?"

"Of course Keigo Takami."

"I will always be here."

There was a screeching of car wheels as a loud BANG rang in the air. The door of the storage container crashed down.

"Dabi, Dabi, Dabi. You shouldn't snoop around, ya
know? Now I'm gonna have to kill you, seeing that there was no option for you to leave the League."

You thought this was the end, huh?
