i watched as faye unbuttoned fezcos shirt, as he walked in from the hallway. "what we got goin on?"

"freshly steamed." she pulled it off the hanger, "yes, yes, yes." fezco rubbed his hands together.

she handed it to him with a big smile on her face, as he said "you're the best." and then put the shirt on, "mm. yeah, we steppin out tonight."

i made a disgusted face as faye helped him button the shirt, she does know he's getting ready FOR lexi... right?

"ooo. bless yo heart." fezco said, making me furrow my eyebrows, how is he so clueless?

i threw my head back as he continued, "i really do.. appreciate you doin that, though."

i got up and went to my room after fez went to his, and decided to change into an outfit i would usually wear, and fixed my hair a little before walking back in the living room and sitting back down in the couch, only ashtray was there this time.

i looked at his outfit, he was wearing a grey track suit... and he looked good. he raised his eyebrow as i looked him up and down, so i turned and looked down the hallway as i waited for fezco to come out.

eventually, i saw him come out with flowers in his hand and he looked at himself in the mirror, before turning and walking to us. "alright, y'all ready?"

i nodded, standing up, with ashtray following behind me. "we'll be back in a little bit." fezco told faye, who smiled and waved us off.

"aw fez, you look cute." i poked his back as i walked out the door behind him, and ashtray raised his eyebrows, making me chuckle.

"thanks, mal." fezco smiled, both ashtray and i running to get the front seat, but after a bunch of pushing fez rushed us, "cmon y'all, hurry up. we gon' be late!"

i pushed ashtray away from the car, before jumping in the front seat and locking the door, "fuck you." he rolled his eyes, jumping in the back.

"what was that? sorry, can't hear you.. you know, since your in the back." i chuckled to myself, as fezco shook his head and started the car.

the three of us found seats in the first row, apparently lexi had saved them for us. and we had made it just on time, as lights turned on and revealed lexi.

"there were five of us."

i got comfortable in my chair, glancing around me, i saw maddy and kat. no cassie?

"there was me, grace."
"my sister, hally."
"her best friend, marta."
"marta's best friend, luna."
"and my best friend, jade."

i furrowed my eyebrows as four girls showed, all looking similar to rue, maddy, cassie and kat.

"and this is life."
"not everyone's life..." she walked over to a letter and stuck her head through it, "but our life!"

i turned behind me again, to see maddy saying something to kat, and once i looked back up at the stage, it clicked. this is about them!

"this might be a kinda weird and embarrassing thing to admit, but i think i think the most defining moment of my adolescence.. was when my sister went through puberty." slowly hally came down with angel wings.

"ugh, i look disgusting."
"hey, hally.. i'm in the middle of somethin."
"it's just this dress is so not flattering!"
"hally.. i'm kinda puttin on a play right now.."
"what?"
"like there's an entire audience waiting for me to continue taking."
"where?"
"right here."
"oh.. hi! wow."
"whatever.. the point is, i could wait to go through puberty."

the light shut off, and lexi ran off as kats ex, ethan in a wig came on stage. "wow! wow. look at you!" a loud laugh came from behind me.

i continued to watch as who i assume is playing cassie and lexis mom, talked to hally, before lexi returned.

"i could see myself now." the lights turned back on, and this time lexi was wearing a dress, and she looked beautiful. "i'd be the girl.. no one could get."

i was too focused on lexi, that i didn't notice fezco raise up a little, a smile on his face.

"hey boys, how are you?" hally walked around, waving to some boys.

"i think before high school, we should think about all the things we don't like about ourselves.. and then, change them. so we can be like different, cooler people."
"i don't think we need to be cooler." lights flickered on again, revealing lexi and jade laying on a 'roof' that looked familiar to the stores.

a couple minutes passed, i laid my head on ashtrays shoulder as i watched her play. currently, jade and lexi were doing some smoke trick, it was pretty cool.

and eventually, ethan, walked on stage, with martha. "jake and marta's relationship was our first impression of love." i heard lexis voice, as jake put a jacket around marta.
"no one's ever loved me, as much as you." martha spoke, followed by ethan, "no one ever will." and the two kissed.

it was just then that i remembered 'martha' was actually maddy, so ethan had to be nate... makes sense.

i raided my head up as several shirtless guys showed, and ashtray whipped his head around to me, "cover your eyes." i chuckled quietly, but put my head back on his shoulder.

"alright, babe, it's time for me and the boys to work out." i cringed, but knowing he was mocking nate, i also found it quite funny. and quickly, the guys started 'working out' doing sexual positions while doing so.

"you guys are so gay." martha said, and immediately all the guys stopped, and jake looked around, "babe, that's not funny." and then he finished, "now get outta here. run along babe!"

and then a whole performance happened, with ashtray covering my eyes, i was enjoying my time.

eventually though, nate walked out with cassie following closely behind him, i only saw because i heard the door close. cassie and nate?

i sat up in my seat as ethan finished and i heard loud footsteps, and then clapping, and soon cassie howard herself was on stage. "lexi you really outdid yourself."

i turned around to see maddy watching her closely, "i mean, where did she find these knock offs?"

"i had no idea that my sister had this in her." i shook my head as the room got silent, cassie, again, was getting all the attention.

"good job, right?"
"isn't she brave?"
"she's up here.. unpacking all of her trauma."
"i had NO idea how hard your life was, lexi."
"could we get a round of applause for how hard lexis life is?"

she started clapping her hands, and ashtray leaned over, "is this part of it or some shit?" and i shrugged.

but someone else from the crowd spoke up, as if on cue, "yo.. is this like apart of the play?"

and cassie turned around, "i don't know. lexi.. is this part of the play? lexi? this is your show.. oh!" she dragged lexi back onstage, and i felt so bad, but no way was i going to go against cassie.

i rolled my eyes as cassie went on and on, crying. and lexis embarrassed face was pissing me off, you know.. maybe i will go against cassie.

"lexi.. is this the part of the play where i steal jake from marta?"

"holy shit!" i exclaimed, lowly.

"no cassie.. that's not in the play." lexi shook her head.

"it is now!" maddy spoke up, and i rubbed my hands together dramatically.

"wait hally steals bally's boyfriend?"
"i don't know how many times i have to say this, they were not fucking together."
"yeah, not only that but she was fucking him the entire time marta was talking about getting back together with him!"
"why?"
"because hallys a two faced cunt."
"i'm not a cunt, you're the cunt!"
"you're the fucking cunt bitch!"

i laughed into my hands, ashtray giving me a weird look. as lexi walked off, cassie following her, and then "yes! oh my god! i just love fucking everything!" was heard.

and a loud "no!" , and eventually cassie was dragging 'hally' off of the carousel. and the two began to... fight? something like that.

i furrowed my eyebrows as i heard "maddy, no!" and turned to see both maddy and kat running on stage, and got excited.

maddy ran up to cassie, who ran away.. but eventually maddy stopped her, and i heard a loud slap. "yes!" i exclaimed a little too loudly, as people turned their head to me.

the fight left the room, and i wanted to go run and watch, but i decided to stay seated and wait until lexis play finished.

and as soon as it did, fezco and i stood up and clapped loudly along with everyone else, ashtray clapping too.. just not as loudly.

"yeah, lexi!" i yelled, before fezco made his way to the steps and lexi walked over.

after whatever they talked about, and some time passed, fez walked over with a smile on his face, "y'all ready?" and me and ashtray stood up, following him out.

"are y'all dating now?" i asked, sitting in the back seat as ashtray MADE SURE he got the front seat this time.

fezco didn't reply, but the light red on his cheeks and the smile on his face, made me gasp and lean up, "really?!"

he told me some of what he had said to her, before we reached home and i skipped begging ashtray and fez, but the smile on my face dropped as the door quickly closed as i tried to walk in.

i put my hand in the handle, and once i realized it was locked i rolled my eyes, "ashtray, we said truce!"

sorry this was so long i wanted to make a long chapter about the play, and also wanted to kinda redo the ended from my first book, but anyway i had no other ideas for an ending and this came to mind earlier.. sorry if you don't like it! but here's your happy ending lmaoo.
