Too Much

I choke on the heartbeat
That pulsates in my throat
Far too rapid and thick to be mine alone
Coagulated blood pounds heavily in the tips of my fingers
Punishing me for its dormancy
As all my blood races towards you
I try to stand but I am far too heavy
The gravity far too harsh
Surely this weight can't be mine alone to bear
For I know you - you're somewhere there

Were they slivers of blue?
Or were they silver tinged blue?
Just like a dream
It stands poised on the tip of my tongue
It is be impossible
To know what can't be had
But I'd remember you from anywhere
I've never had you
Yet I am the traitor in my body
Forced to endure without you
