Suffocation

That furrowed brow
Set atop your haughty stare
Those eyes that expand to black
Never sudden
Hardly a surprise
As it is a constant
To be suffocated under your heat
A stifling warmth that leaves my skin pink and raw
Like a phantom of your touch
That devours my fantasies
Setting every nerve ending aflame
In skittish spasms
Every time you draw near
That burns the oxygen out of my throat
To leave me panting for breath
Cheeks painted red in asphyxiation
I would embrace it
If only your hands would be placed around my neck instead
