*Warehouse 229*

*Warehouse 229*

(Reid's P.O.V)

"Over there!" I exclaimed, pointing toward a block of disused warehouses to the East of us.

"Okay, lover-boy, calm it down," he said, indicating to the right. We turned into a small road, deserted and dusty, and drove along the track.

My fist clenched as I saw the state of the crumbling warehouses, boarded up and falling to pieces.

In the distance, I spotted a van, and pointed it out to Morgan.

"He's definitely here," he confirmed, pulling up beside the black vehicle. I recognised it from the video tapes I'd watched with Amelia.

I sprung out of my seat and tentatively approached the van, clutching my gun with whitening knuckles. Some part of me hoped that perhaps he would jump out of the vehicle and tackle me, just to give me an excuse to shoot him. But another part of me was saying that it was wrong. I couldn't wish for things like that to happen; not if I was going to do the job properly.

I peered up through the tinted windows, and found that the drivers seat and passenger seat were empty.

"Anything?" Morgan called from behind me; he'd kicked the van doors open, but from the tone of his voice, the back must've been deserted too.

I shook my head. "Let's get inside; we can't waste any more time."

Morgan grunted in agreement and we both jogged to the gate, fencing off the first warehouse.

"Which one's that?" Morgan called from behind me.

"Uh..." I murmured, trying to pick out the numbers through the obscured paint; most of it had faded, or was concealed under a layer of grime, but I still managed to discern the remaining lettering. "216"

Morgan tutted and hauled himself over the gate, his legs swinging nimbly over the fence.

"Woah, what are you doing?" I asked incredulously as he landed with a subdued thud on the other side.

"We need to get over the fence!" Morgan countered, and my brows arched.

"There's an open gate right there," I said, gesturing amusingly to the swinging metal.

He shrugged and smirked. "Yeah, but I looked cool."

I rolled my eyes and slipped through the gate, my shirt abruptly catching on the latch and tugging me back.

"And even when he takes the safer route, bad fortune still befalls him," Morgan chuckled to himself, walking backwards and watching me struggle with amusement.

I scowled, but finally managed to tug myself free and stumble forward. I hastily regained my dignity and changed the subject.

"We need to find 229," I said, squinting in the glaring sun as I tried to discern the titles of the remaining buildings. "But Garcia said there's over a dozen here."

Morgan nodded, traipsing slowly through the building complex in search for the correct desolate warehouse.

My thoughts suddenly turned to Amelia, trapped in one of them, paralysed and suffering under the touch of a sadistic rapist. I cringed as I contemplated what he'd already done to her, anger boiling in my chest.

"Hey, Reid, over here!" Morgan called. I glanced up from the ground to see him some distance away, gesturing madly to another crumbling building.
I took off into a run, quickly closing the gap between us.

"What is it?" I gasped, breathlessly, my chest struggling to heave in air.

"228," he said, pointing to the dull lettering. Then he gestured to the neighbouring building. "231."

My eyebrows creased, my jaw hanging as I confirmed what he'd stated. There was no 229 or 230. "Where are they?"

Morgan shrugged, his fist clenching as he growled. "That son of a-"

"Wait," I intervened, pointing into the distance, my eyes squinting.

"I think that's a map of the grounds. Let's check it out."

Morgan sighed and nodded, and we both started jogging toward it.

"Hey, Reid!" I heard someone yell behind me.

I spun on my heel and saw Hotch running toward us, his gun drawn. I beckoned him over and quickly explained the situation.

"We have squad teams deployed in every warehouse, just in case she's not inside 229," he said, holstering his gun.

I nodded, and Morgan joined us.
"229 is on the other side of the complex."

Hotch nodded. "Let's go!"

*Omg, they're so close so finding Amelia!! Like I said before, this story is coming to an end soon, but I am considering making a sequel in the future. And I'll definitely be writing other Spencer Reid Fics ;) So, do not panic! (Idek if you were in the first place).

Btw, do you like the new cover? I think I prefer this one to the old one, but I'd like to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading.*
