"Beautiful, isn't it?" Fei asked before Y/n had time to even round the corner.

In the basement of the academy was where the Kugelblitz was located. The group that had gathered in the living room moved downstairs to hear the idea of what to do with it, though Viktor had yet to rejoin them. The soft orange and yellow hues splashed across Fives face, reflecting in his eyes as Y/n glanced over to him. Their eyes locked for a moment, Y/n's lips parted in shock as she turned back to the enigma.

"Oh, wow." Diego mumbled.

Lila scoffed, "That's what took Stanley."

"Along with a few other billion people."

"Yeah, who I didn't know and don't care about."

"Right." Fei nodded, "So it's all about you."

"All of us are irrelevant." Y/n spoke up, "This thing's gonna take the whole damn universe."

"What's it made of?" Five inquired while taking a walk around it.

"Micro black holes collapsing at increasingly short intervals." Sloane answered.

"Why aren't we getting sucked in?"

"We don't know." She shrugged, "You shouldn't exist here and neither should this."

"An impossibility for an impossibility. The universe is a sucker for balance." He sighed while staring into it.

"Grace has been tracking the waves." Fei informed them, "Next one is due in three hours."

"Okay... so what do we do to stop that?" Y/n spoke up, leaning against the wall.

"We trap it."

"Dyson sphere?"

Sloane looked to Five a little shocked, "Yeah."

He clicked his tongue, "Okay. Confinement factor?"

She paused, taken back, "0.98 at peak energy flux."

"Tensile strength?"

"UTS ceiling of 10,000 gigapascals."

"Should I be finding this hot?" Lila inquired in a whisper to Y/n.

"... No." Y/n shook her head after a pause to glance at her.

"What do you think, Five?" Allison spoke up from one of the archways, leaning against the old bricks.

"Could work. Or we could all die horribly."

Y/n smiled sarcastically, "Aren't you just a ball of sunshine?"

"I try, darling." He smiled back at her, "... I'm in."

"You're not the one we need." Ben snapped.

Allison glanced over at him, "Excuse you?"

"For this to work," Fei cut in, "We need Sloane, Lila, Christopher, possibly Y/n, and—"

"Viktor." Allison completed, clicking her tongue on her way out, "Of course."

There was a few beats of silence as she walked off, the sound of her heels clacking descending as she went.

"Uh, on what possibility would you need me?" Y/n queried, breaking the silence.

"Depends." Fei turned to her direction, "Does your ice melt or break unless you want it to?"

"It's normal ice." Y/n shrugged, "I can break it, but if it's thick enough it should be pretty durable. Why?"

"In case this doesn't work you should make ice walls covering the archways. That way, if the Kugelblitz breaks free, we can keep it somewhat contained."

"What, and let the three people inside have a guaranteed death if that happens?" She shook her head, "No thanks."

"Okay," Viktor sighed, "How do we start?"

He was on the left of the Kugelblitz with Lila on the opposite side. Christopher was above head and Sloane was stood in front of it. The rest of the group stood towards the back, watching anxiously as they all prepared.

"Have you ever moved a nest of bees?" Sloane questioned.

"No," Lila looked at her oddly, "Because that's weird."

"You can't just pick it up." She resumed, "You have to keep the nest calm while you build a box around it, and then you trap it."

Christopher spoke something from above head, and Sloane nodded in agreement. No one bothered to translate as Sloane lifted herself in the air. Her hands glowed white with her power as she slowly started shrinking the ball of lightning.

"One of those black holes inside is vibrating at a different rate." Fei informed them as Viktor prepared himself.

"I can feel them." He nodded.

"Good. Whatever happens, don't let them speed up or change, or everything will blow."

"Don't shake the bees. Got it."

Viktor slowly forced out a blue energy wave that acted almost as a force field and wrapped it around the Kugelblitz.

"Lila, when you're ready, do exactly like Viktor."

She nodded, copying what Viktor had done exactly. Luther slowly leaned over to Ben who was stood a little away from Five and Y/n.

"Hey," He whispered, nodding to Sloane, "What's she doing?"

"Using it's own gravity to condense it."

The enigma slowly shrunk in on itself, and over all the noises and anxious watching to see if the plan would work, no one noticed Grace coming down. Sloane took a deep breath, shrinking the Kugelblitz down more.

"You didn't tell me you were building a prison for God." Grace deadpanned, a more robotic tone leaking into her voice.

"Mom?" Diego questioned, trying to make out what he could see of the silhouette.

"You have no right to do that."

"We're a little busy here, Grace." Luther called out to her.

Diego stepped forward as Y/n glanced over to her. She looked back to Five with a shrug, letting him deal with it.

"The day of vengeance was in my heart..."

Luther pushed himself off the brick wall, stepping forward as well.

"What are you talking about?" Diego asked her, still hesitantly stepping forward.

She continued, "And my year of redemption hath come."

She held up a flamethrower, letting fire rain out from it and everyone jumped out of the way. Five snaked his arms around Y/n's waist and pulled her back, both of them falling to the floor.

Graces voice shifted to a robotic tone, no traces of normalcy left as she repeated the same sentence she already had. She directed the flames all over the room as Y/n took a deep breath and stood. She let ice spill out from her left palm. Her ice clashed against the flames faster than what she could produce with one hand, but she managed well.

"Hey, mom! Mom," Diego called out, "It's Diego. Don't make us hurt you."

She paused for a split moment before raising the flamethrower again, nearly setting Diego to flames.

Y/n clicked her tongue as flames spilled from her right hand, aimed towards Grace.

Luther peeked out from where he was hidden, "Since when do you have fire abilities?" He shouted back.

"Since the 60's!"

"And you didn't think to tell anyone?" Five yelled.

"You know now!" She shouted, keeping her focus on Grace.

Five shook his head and blinked over to Grace, teleporting them elsewhere in the house. The flames spilling from her hand ceased quickly, everyone slowly focusing their attention back on the Kugelblitz.

"Can't believe you didn't say anything." Diego muttered to her.

"Oh, by the way, I have fire abilities too." She mocked his voice, "Would that have sufficed?"

"Yes, it would have."

"Christopher," Sloane called out, "Now!"

The cube spilt into pieces, slowly trapping the Kugelblitz inside as it pieced itself back together. Once it was trapped in, Viktor and Lila sighed from relief, as well as Sloane as she lowered herself back to the ground. The group all watched to see if it would hold as Five teleported back in next to Y/n, taking her hand in his.

"Did it work?" He inquired.

"The next Kugel-wave is in three, two," Sloane counted down as everyone took a few steps back. "One."

Ben popped open a bottle of champagne, the liquid flying out as the cork was pulled. Music played through speakers as he drank from it and everyone danced along in celebration of the trap working. Ben went around pouring everyone a glass of champagne.

He handed Y/n back a full glass as she talked with Lila, nodding along to whatever rant she was going on about. Y/n sipped on her glass as she saw Anne at the balcony on the next level. She was rubbing sleep from her eyes and then gave Y/n a confused look before coming downstairs.

Ben looked at her and shrugged, filling a champagne glass and handing it off to her.

"So," Lila started, "You agree? Diego would make a good dad, right?"

"Oh," She looked back to her, "Yeah. He did good with Stanley before he was Kugelblitzed."

She nodded and went off the dance with Diego as Ben stole her seat on the couch.

"... Can you even drink alcohol?" He inquired.

She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, it's a long story."

"Well, I'm curious, so let's hear it."

Y/n sighed, taking a sip of the chilled champagne, "As kids, we went on a mission and I got shot. It was our first mission, I think. Or one of the firsts, so there was a shit introduction speech on who we were after we had saved the day. I had to stand through that and afterwards, I had lost so much blood that I needed a blood transfusion—"

"Wait, wait," He stopped her, "You stood and bled out after a mission? Instead of receiving immediate medical attention?"

"There was no exit wound, and I'm not a wuss. But Allison did rumor me to not feel pain, so." She shook her head, "Anyways, I needed a blood transfusion, and that one—"

Y/n glanced over to Five while pointing at him and saw he was talking to Anne.

Her heart dropped to her stomach as she sat up straight. Eight tried to listen to her or read her lips as she rambled on from across the room. The redhead had gone out of the way to pull him away from the rest of the group, talking to him by a nearby bookshelf.

"What did Five do?" Ben questioned, tapping her shoulder when he didn't receive a response.

"I'm sorry, I have to go." She told him and he rolled his eyes.

"Fine, I'll ask someone else then."

Y/n rushed over to them as Anne left him standing by the bookshelf.

"I'm sorry." Anne apologized, "For everything, really."

With that she walked off, setting her untouched glass of champagne on the coffee table as she went back upstairs. Five was still stood by the bookshelf, eyes searching for Y/n as she had dragged herself over to the bar.

He took the seat next to her, "That was interesting, to say the least."

She sighed, head in her hand. "What'd she tell you?"

"That she's from the 60's, and how she ended up here, of course." He shrugged, "She also said you talked about me all the time in the 60's."

Y/n lifted her head up, "What?"

"Yeah, said you'd never shut up about me." He smiled softly at her, "She also said she had wrong you, and hoped that this made up for that."

"Oh," Y/n nodded, "Did she... say what it was?"

He sighed, looking to the group that was still dancing around the living room with glasses of champagne, "No, but she didn't have to."

"She didn't?"

"Y/n," He set his glass down and faced her, "I'm not stupid. I don't care if you were with someone else after you had lost hope that I'd find you."

"You don't?" She checked.

"No," He shrugged, laughing a little when he continued, "You said it yourself, you want to spend the rest of your days left with me."

"Okay, that was when we had like three remaining days to live." She rolled her eyes, "Not that I didn't mean it."

"I know you meant it." He took a sip of his champagne, "So, no, I don't care that you had a thing for her or dated her. You still wear the ring I gave you. Even went out of your way to make sure we're in an official relationship."

She laughed while grimacing from slight embarrassment, "Shut up."

"No, no, it was cute. I liked it." He teased and followed her back to the living room, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips with a hand holding onto her waist.

He smirked, going back to stand around the fireplace by Lila and Sloane as they danced. Y/n sighed, a blossomed smile playing on her lips as she watched as he went. She moved to sit next to Viktor, who was leaned against the arm of the couch. Fei came over a few moments later, pulling her up from the couch as she resisted.

"Come on. Dance with us."

"Ugh, no. It's so much more fun to watch you all make fools of yourselves."

She laughed, pulling her up and throwing an arm around her shoulders, "No, no, come on."

Y/n had been walking the halls after the celebration, running into Five when the Academy had rumbled. They both clung onto the railing close by and then rushed down the staircase.

Five got down the last step just after her, pulling her back into him as a piece of the ceiling fell down with some dust. The pillar next to them cracked as dust rained down from the ceiling, bits of the ceiling slowly plummeting down.

"We gotta get out!" Viktor shouted while entering the foyer.

"Wait, Ben." Five mumbled as he spun Y/n to face him, "Go with them. I'll meet you outside."

She nodded and he teleported himself off. Viktor grabbed Y/n's arm, both of them running from the building just in time along with everyone else as the Kugelblitz broke through the Academy.
