Chapter 9: Wait What's Going On

TW: Surgery, Failing school system, drug addiction, PTSD, Anxiety and depression mentioned.

JJ had texted the team and updating them every ten or so minutes on Spencer's and Evelyn's condition. Spencer came out of the woods first and back to a normal room but was sat worrying about Evelyn. They continued to write letters and send emails the school system was failing children and how it needed more recognition it was failing Evvy. Evelyn Reid most likely gonna be a great adult working for them government or being whatever she want to do or be, but for her to get to that point the schools need to stop failing this little girl.

They wrote a letter to the school board, and it said:

Dear whoever is reading this,
My name is Spencer Reid and I am writing to you to address the issue of the school system I have an eight year old daughter named Evelyn Reid she goes to Third street high school. Yes my child is a prodigy, and no she is not to smart for her classes and that is not the problem right now. The problem is the bullying, in this letter I am disclosing medical letters and pictures of what children at her school have done to her. Please look over it closely, well anytime something has happen the school has done minimal about it. I am worried that if this continues my eight year old daughter will develop, anxiety, depression and maybe even PTSD. I am worried my happy little girl won't be anymore. The school system has failed more children than just my daughter, yes I know it must be hard but school isn't a safe and nurturing place it is a place were children are scared to be. Children refuse to go to school nowadays because they are scared or can't learn but what does the school do nothing. They only help the disruptive ones the good ones are just left. These children need help and support. My child need the bullies to stop, while I am writing this my child is in surgery from those bullies. The medical records are disclosed in here with dates, times and pictures. Every time I have brought this up with the school the bullies just get a smack on the wrist and there free, the most the school has done is a part day suspension. What will they do now that they almost killed my daughter? I have also brought the matter up with the children's parents, they have punished there children but the children come back and bully and hurt my daughter more. My child is eight years old she is suppose to be happy and enjoy her life but instead she is in hospitals, getting photograph, questioned if she is being abused at home. They only break she gets is when she's at home or with her family like her Auntie JJ who is sitting next to me helping me to write this and get some attention, not just for my daughter but for all the children who have been failed by the school system. This needs more attention I will do anything to get it so, I am writing this letter the inform you of the bulling again for the tenth time. And to also tell you I am going to get justice not but for my child but for every child failed by the school system. I will go to the media if I have to. They already are doing a story about Evelyn. I will go to extreme lengths to protect my child and I promise you that.
Yours Sincerely, Dr Spencer Reid.

That was the letter Spencer sent and he was being truthful there was media vans pulling up and they were running stories on a eight year old girl how was beaten by teenager to death if left any longer. They were trying to get interviews with Spencer but he denied and let Maddie but interviewed instead and she agreed she told them everything.

After an hour Evvy came out of surgery but was in the ICU for a while once she was put in a normal room Spencer went straight to see her, he sat by her side for hours. He didn't want her to wake up alone. When she woke up she hugged her dad and was asking what was going on. Spencer explained about the media and the emails and letter, she sat there trying to take it all in still being a little groggy from the medications. She was hoping this would be the end. She knew her dad could come home soon after some inpatient rehab which was covered any other rehab would have to be at a special facility. Her dad had a few days left before he could came home and she had to stay over night for observation. And then she was going home with Will and JJ and resting which meant no school. But she loved her family she was gonna go and see them after she got out of the hospital. She knew that her dad could spend time with her but would have to got back to work eventually. Evvy and Spencer was hugging in Evvy's bed and reading, watching horrible television. They had tests and were being observed the whole day but Evvy was just happy to be spending it with her dad. She never wanted to leave him. She knew she couldn't ask her dad to quite the job is his life and his team is their family. She was so happy for her dad.

Hotch came and was talking with Spencer about taking some time off then getting reinstated and all of that they thought she was asleep. She always listens in to conversations but that's so she doesn't get left out she hates that feeling.

The Next Day: Evvy woke up and packed the couple pairs of clothes she had there and got changed she put on some shoes and hobbled down the hallway to her dads room he was sat waiting for her with  Will in the room. She hugged her dad and Will after half an hour, Will and Evvy went and got into the car. He drove her to her home and they packed a bag for a few days. They drove back to his place and he picked her up and placed her on the sofa like a queen, Will loved his niece.

Are they gonna get there life back? Are they gonna be a normal family?
