one day (pt.2)

the room was momentarily silent, and the room suddenly exploded with noise. the immortals discussed the matter.

some agreed with lixun but some despised her actions.

no one noticed dijun slipping out of the hall.

he ran after her.

she was just in front, flouncing away, getting faster and faster. soon she would disappear, and he would never know if he could ever see her again.

he finally caught up.

"please no..."

"LEAVE ME ALONE! YOU HEARD WHAT THEY SAID! I DON'T SUIT THIS PLACE, SO WHY COME?!"

"no, i didn't stand up for you, i'm sorry.."

"too late for apologies. i never knew, since you won the hearts of so many girls, choose one of them." she laughed mirthlessly. "and to think i thought i was the only one."

"you are!" dijun struggled to find words. he'd never been in love, never had been scared to lose anyone he loved. it had all changed.

"please forgive me, we'll stop coming if you don't feel comfortable, i'll do anything...."

"anything?" feng jiu said softly.

"anything." dijun confirmed.

"then stay away from me. maybe one day, i can forgive you again but not now. i don't know when that day will come but if you really love me, wait. and we should stop seeing each other for now."

dijun froze.

"stay away from me"
"stay away from me"
"stay away from me"

he was so immersed in his thoughts that he didn't notice her slipping away. and by the time he noticed, she had long gone.

tears threatened to slip from his eyes but he blinked them back.

"i'll hold you to your words, bai feng jiu," he whispered.

"one day."
