hope you enjoy!

by the way, i'm starting a 'jealous?' series since i received some requests in that genre, enjoy :)

shrieks of laughter and joy could be heard from within taichen palace, outside of which feng jiu was playing with their 200-year-old son, gun gun. dijun smiled at the two.

slowly, the afternoon passed, and dijun, who was occasionally looking up from his reports and books to see mother and son playing, started feeling slightly annoyed that hours could pass and they didn't stop.

just slightly annoyed.

and in all good timing, cheng yu and lian song chose this time to saunter in.

they bowed and asked about each other's welfare, and the three of them surveyed the fun that was going on outside, in which gun gun had managed to tackle feng jiu to the ground, tickling her as she laughed.

lian song turned to dijun's face, expecting to see joy and fondness on his face. what he didn't expect was to see the faintest traces of annoyance on his face. lian song raised his eyebrows slightly and then nudged cheng yu gently.

cheng yu scowled at him, but her eyes trailed to where he was looking: mainly dijun's face.

she then turned back to the playing duo outside, and in a split second she understood.

he was jealous that gun gun had feng jiu's attention for the whole day.

cheng yu then cleared her throat and said in a loud and cheery voice: "and i must say i haven't taken gun gun out in a long time. can i take him around to the gardens?"

feng jiu looked up and smiled. "sure. i'm a little worn out from his energy anyway. go ahead, son." she patted his arm and herded him to cheng yu's arms.

dijun turned to lian song, and tilted his head slightly in confusion. lian song just gave him a half shrug and headed off after gun gun and cheng yu.

feng jiu now came flouncing into taichen palace, smiling but slightly out of breath.

"did he tire you out?" dijun said, trying not to smile at her.

"yes." she laughed. "he has so much energy, i can't keep up with him. he never gets tired."

"yes, well," dijun said lazily, "children are energetic. you'll tire yourself out in no time if you keep playing with him like this. rest a bit, jiu'er."

"it's okay. when he grows up, i won't have any chance to play with him anymore."

"how long will that be?" dijun asked, slightly irritated. "hundreds of years?"

feng jiu tilted her head and raised an eyebrow.

"are you okay?"

"of course i am."

"no, you're not."

"i am."

she laughed and blurted out, "you're jealous!"

"i said-"

she laughed, interrupting him. "our child made you jealous!"

he finally had to smile. "you win."
