Work

Work

And more work, piling higher and higher on Y/N's desk by the second. She stared helplessly at the stack, not noticing the blue eyes watching her closely.

"Y/N? Are you sure you don't need any help? 'Cause I'm always down for some work!" Anzu smiled, trying to get through to the other girl. Y/N shook her head.

"No thank you. I just need to take a walk. I appreciate the offer though, Aznu." You smile back, getting up from your seat and walking out the door, down to the school yard and out the gate.

What was wrong with you recently? You'd been so out of it, it's unnatural, and you hated it. For one, others were starting to notice your constant leg and arm twitching and your tired, sleepless face. They asked so many questions about it, and you had just brushed it off.

You didn't even know how far you walked now because you spotted the convenience store you always pass up ahead.

"Well, if it isn't Y/N!" The voice made you jump, for it was a voice you didn't want to hear. Y/N tried to ignore the person and continued on with her walk, only now tracing back towards the Academy. "Y/N! Don't just ignore me!" M/N demanded. You heard their pace quicken, and so did yours, almost till it was a full-on sprint.

Finally, your former unit member caught up to you and jerked your wrist back. You let a small squeak of pain escape your lips. Slowly, you look up to meet M/N's eyes, still as cold as you remember.

They rolled their eyes and stared at you up and down, "So it's true, you're a producer for Yumenosaki now?"

"Yeah... what about it?" You say, a hint of verbal venom spat at M/N.

"Puh-lease, you can't even get rid of one units workload. How can you manage multiple while you're still..." They gestured to your entire body, "This... helpless, tired, and such. Just give up. We kicked you out for a reason. Your so-called 'dream' is impossible."  They crossed their arms, freeing the grip on you're wrist.

You were about to retort and say that you've gotten better since leaving that stupid unit, but someone else interjected before you.

"Y/N-Chan! Anzu said you'd be somewhere out here!" The unmistakably cheerful voice of Arashi called out to you. M/N looked up and frowned, you on the other hand looked realived.

M/N held up their index finger to you and made a 'tsk' sound, "Y/N... you should know better than to involve yourself with popular idols like Narukami."

"Shut up, I don't have to listen to you anymore!" You snapped, shoving them away from you. Both M/N and Arashi looked shocked at your sudden act.

"Fine! Fine! I was just giving you some desperately needed advice. From former work buddy to another. Cya." M/N scoffed.

Once they were out of sight, Y/N and Arashi went back to the school in silence. It was quite peaceful for you, no talking, just silence. Until Arashi spoke.

"Was that one of your former unit members, Y/N?" She asked, gripping one of your shoulders.

"Mhm."

"What was that all about?"

"..."

"Y/N-Chan, tell me."

"You... I don't want you getting involved. Besides it's in the past, it doesn't matter anymore does it?" You try. Arashi shook her head, you knew she was in a state that caused her to pry things out of her friends if it was bothering them.

All of a sudden, you were no longer headed to school, but instead being dragged in  the direction of the shopping district.

"Ara-Nee?! What about club and practice?" Y/N asked, trying to resist. All the other girl did was smile back at you and continued dragging you along.

---------

Arashi had took you to the shopping mall, it wasn't to fairly packed since many were busy with clubs and work. There were still a lot of people, though.

"Why are we even here, Ara-Nee?" You questioned, shooting glares at your classmate. She took both your hand in hers and smiled at you wide.

"You know, when I'm feeling a little down, I go shopping! I thought we could do some together! Wouldyou like too?" She suggested. You couldn't help but stare into her purple eyes, one you could get lost in forever. I shook you're head, making the other girl look at you funny. You knew that you deeply harbored feelings for Arashi, you just could never muster up the courage to ask her out. Now though? You had the chance.. well... Arashi was the one who brought you here but still! That couldn't stop you from asking her!

"Y/N-Chan?" You snapped back to reality by the sound of her voice. "You still havnt answered my question." She said with a hint of sadness, like Y/N would reject the offer.

"Oh no! I'd love to, Ara-Nee!" You broke your hands free and waved them around, reassuring the girl. She only smiled and took you by the hand, which caused you to turn a little red.

"Thats good. Now come on! I'll take you to one of my favorite places!" Arashi sang, you only smiled and followed along. To you, Arashi just had a soothing aura enough to make you forget about your problems.

She would always be there when you were overworked, and when you had struggled with mid term exams. Arashi would make sure you were well rested and healthy, made sure you were happy too. When she first started doing it, you thought it was annoying, and a waste of time when you could be doing work. After a lot of time passed, you started valuing what she said,  and eventually gained feelings for her. Anzu and the rest of the nights knew this, but Arashi still hasn't figured it out, despite how observation she is of people.

When you stopped, you realized it wasn't a clothing shop like you'd assumed but a pet shop. "Ara-Nee, why are we at a pet shop?"

"Because the animals are soo cute! Especially that cats!" She exclaimed. You laughed a little and walked in with her. The shopkeeper seemed familiar with the blond and greeted her, and asked if she need anything specific. Arashi had shook her head and brought me to the cat section.

Arashi would point out all the adorable looking ones, a lot of which she knew from periodic visits. She mentioned her own cat, Nyanko, and how adorable she(he?) was. After a few long minutes of fawning over cats and Arashi speaking, you noticed a cat with a face almost like a grumpy bear. Subconsciously, you pressed your fingertips against the glass, staring at it. It stared back, its eyes almost staring into your soul, and touching your heart.

"Oh? Well arnt you a cutie!" Arashi cooed from behind you. You jumped a little, and stepped back so she could see the cat. "He looks very grumpy, don't you think Y/N-Chan?"

"Mhm, but his grumpy face looks so... cute.." you said softly.

"R/N-san! Could we get this cat?" Arashi called. Within a few seconds the shopkeeper came down out isle, inspecting the cat Arashi asked for.

"Sure, anything for one of my best customers." They smiled and took the cat out of the cage, placing it in Arashi's arms. It let out a 'mrrow' as you followed the two of them to the front.

"Ara-Nee, are you gonna take care of that cat too?" You ask, in honesty, you kinda wanted to keep the cat yourself but you didn't say. Arashi kept silent and made the purchase, R/N put the grumpy cat in a travle cage and we left.

"Its getting late, how about I walk the lovely princess home?" Arashi smiled back at you.

"P-princess?!" You yelped. That was a nickname that the Knights usually gave their female fans, but why was Arashi using it now?

"What so wrong with using it now?" She shrugged and the two of you walked home, laughing and talking. You stopped for a quick bit of street food since you were both hungry, and got some free cat treats from the food vendor.

You arrived at your house and offered Arashi a glass of water before she left. She also asked for a pen and paper, so you got her that before you prepared two glasses. Water for Arashi, and some herbal tea for yourself, behind you, you could hear the pen writing against the paper. When you finished you handed the water to Arashi and she thanked you.

"I'll be going now. Thank you for the water, and the shopping, and the food, and the-"

"Okay, okay. I get it Ara-Nee. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Yoh laughed pushing the girl put the door.

"Okay, oh! Before I forget!" Arashi turned around and brushed some stray hairs out of your face before planting a kiss on your forehead. "I'll wait for you at the school gate, like usual." She smiled and ran off, leaving you speechless.

"Mrrrow!" The cat grumbled.

"She.. left Grumpy here?" You muttered. Then you noticed a note on the top of the cage.

'Thank you for today, Y/N-Chan! I actaully planned with Anzu to take you out to the mall, sorry for not telling! I thought, as Knights lovely producer you should get a break. Plus, when I saw the sad look on your face earlier I couldn't bare it, I don't like seeing my Princess so sad. Oh! And the grumpy cat, he's yours! It's my gift to you! We should hang out like that more often! Girl on girl hangouts, you know?'       -Your personal Knight.

You smiled at the letter, then at the cat. "I think I'll name you Kimuzu. How about it?" You said, rubbing the back of its ears.

"Mrrrooow..."

Yukari- I really didn't have any clear idea with this. I just new Arashi likes cats, so I decided to do a cat based one?
