You're Mine

The bell for break had run a little over five minutes ago. Although Y/n had been held back so that she could finish her test before being allowed to go off to break. Once she was done, she wasted no time grabbing her bag and leaving out into the quiet hallway.

She walked hastily towards the cafeteria, remembering how hungry she had become through that session. Too bad she didn't get that far before she was pulled into a empty classroom on the way. Her fight or flight senses kicked in until she realised who had grabbed her.

"Sweetheart. I missed you." Eddie whispered into her ear, attacking her neck with kisses immediately after. He moved his way along her jawline, connecting their lips a few seconds later. Y/n didn't want to cut things short but she was starving, they could continue this once school was over anyways.

Placing one hand on his chest, she used it to her advantage to push him away. The second he couldn't feel his lips on hers, he started pouting, longing for her touch again. They barely ever got to spend time together at school because Y/n didn't want anyone knowing about their relationship. It obviously bruised Eddie's ego but he really like her, so if it had to be a secret, then a secret it would be.

"I'm hungry, plus we might get caught." Y/n explained, giving him one last kiss on the lips. "Seriously, you've gotta be more careful next time."

"As you wish." He mocked her by bowing before signalling for her to leave first and then a couple minutes later he would too. When she was out of sight he decided it was fine to make his way to the cafeteria.

Y/n and him were part of very different groups, therefore the likelihood of someone connecting the dots wasn't very high. But that still didn't mean they were in the clear. The last thing she wanted was not being cautious enough that someone caught them, then everything would be over. Gossip spread through the school like wildfire.

When she entered the cafeteria, all Y/n's friends called her over to sit with them. As much as she'd rather sit with Eddie, she had no choice. She just wasn't ready to tell everyone yet, so until then, she would have to put up with her friends trying to play matchmakers for her.

"I overheard Jace talking about you again." Abbey whispered to Y/n, clearly finding herself amusing. "So when you gonna give him a chance?"

"Like I said, not in a million years." Y/n replied, grabbing out her lunch. The only thing she wanted to do right now was eat, not talk about boys. Plus, she was only interested in one guy and right now he was sitting across the cafeteria from her. That still didn't stop him from continuously stealing glances at her. It wasn't his fault he couldn't keep his eyes off her.

"Well speaking of the devil." Clair said, elbowing the two girls who were bickering.

Y/n realised what her other friend was talking about when she spotted Jace approaching them. He had that stupid grin plastered on his face and his hair slicked to the side. Eddie was better in every way possible.

"Hey Y/n! You're looking good today." He complimented her, sitting down beside her after Abbey shuffled over. If he wasn't looking at her right now, Y/n would probably flip her friend off for moving over. She didn't want to talk to Jace right now and Eddie definitely wouldn't be very happy about how close they were. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out to the movies on Friday?"

"I don't know, I'm busy." She answered, avoiding eye contact with him.

"Alright, well when aren't you busy?"

"I'll have to check." It was taking a lot of self control for her not to get up and yell at him to fuck off. Some people just couldn't take a hint, especially Jace. She didn't need to look over at Eddie to know he was pissed. Pissed would've been an understatement.

Not that she blamed him, Jace had his arm around Y/n like they were together, when in fact they weren't. He also kept cracking jokes that were honestly terrible leaving her no choice but to uncomfortably laugh at them.

"Somebody kill me please." Y/n mumbled under her breath causing Jace to ask her what she said. "I just said you're really funny."

"Thank you sweetheart." The only person she wanted calling her sweetheart was Eddie. One more second in this situation and she would surely crack!

——

"Why are you so quiet Eddie?"

"What do you mean?" The classic answering a question with another question. That let Y/n know that he was in another one of his moods or that something happened.

"You know exactly what I mean." She caught him rolling his eyes at her before his hands tensed on the steering wheel. Something was seriously bothering him and he seemed to be taking it out on her. Or maybe she was the problem. "What is your problem?"

"What is your problem!" He retorted, stopping the van on the side of a quiet road. "You're embarrassed of me, that's why you don't tell anyone about us. And what's even worse is that you fucking flirt with other guys with no shame, around me!"

"That's not true!"

"Bullshit."

"It's not and it's not as easy as you think. My parents would kill us both, you know how they feel about you!" Y/n explained trying her best to convince him that she wasn't embarrassed of him. She wasn't, but she was just afraid of what would happen. "I just need time."

"Ok."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She had no idea where this was going. He'd never brought this up in an argument before so she didn't think he had a problem with them keeping their relationship a secret.

"I can't do this Y/n, watch other guys touch you, or hear other people talk about how good you'd be with some other douche. It's not fair."

"You're not breaking up with me, are you?"

"I-I just think we should take a break." He looked down at his hand after saying that. There was no way he'd be able to face her without apologising and taking it back. If he did then he would just be hurting himself even more.

"Fine." She reached down for her bag, unlocking the door before stepping out his van and shutting it behind her. "I'll walk the rest of the way."

There was no point in arguing with her so he just watched her walk away. It was probably for the best. He didn't deserve to be put in that situation, no one did.

The next couple of weeks they had completely ignored each other's existences. At school it wasn't that difficult since that's what they normally did. Act like they didn't know each other at all. Except today, Y/n had enough of the avoiding each other. She missed Eddie and wanted to make things right.

Whenever she got the chance to talk to him alone in a empty hallway or class he would just ignore her which broke her heart. How could she fix things if he didn't even give her a chance?

It was lunchtime now and Y/n had been stressing over what she would say if he actually let her talk. The last thing she wanted was to make things worse between them. She couldn't lose him for good. He was the only real thing in her life. Everyone else only cared about themselves and their image and Y/n could see how she was probably the same. But she didn't want to be therefore she had to stop hiding her feelings.

"Can we please talk." Y/n begged, placing her hands onto his lunch table. He refused to look at her but all his friends were. As well as some other people around the room. Most of them probably thought she was teasing him considering some of her friends did. "I'm serious Eddie."

"Go away or you'll embarrasses yourself."

"I'm sorry Eddie, ok."

"If you think an apology is gonna get me back to just being a secret, then you're wrong." He played with the almond in his hand, glancing at her once before drawing his attention back to the table.

"You really make this difficult don't you?"

He immediately froze when she grabbed his face and pulled him in for a kiss. That was the last thing he expected her to do since she kept everything about them a secret for months. Once he processed what was going on, he kissed her back, grinning when she pulled away for air.

"Now will you accept it?"

"I don't know, try again?" He teased, resting his head on the palm of his hand. By now most people were staring at them, completely shocked about what they just witnessed.

"Don't push it." She looked at everyone around her and surprisingly, it didn't bother her that they all knew. At least that meant Jace would finally take a fucking hint and leave her alone. Pretending that Eddie was nothing to her after all this time was really getting to her anyways. So it was about time everyone found out that she belonged to the 'freak'.

Jace didn't look very happy about what he had just discovered. For months he had been trying to get just one date with her and now he realised she was seeing Eddie Munson of all people. What could she possibly have seen in him?

Eddie saw how confused Jace looked which made him smirk. It was about time that guy learnt his place. After watching his facial expressions change over and over again, Eddie turned to Y/n who had now taken a seat beside him. "Glad you came to your senses sweetheart."

"Quit it pretty boy, before I change my mind."

"Too late for that." He replied, winking at her. "Everyone knows that you're mine."
