Secret Relationship

Eddie and his band were currently spending their evening in a bar that they planned to play at tomorrow. Gareth was with him at the back, leaning against the counter as they watched the current band onstage play. The others were no where to be seen, probably doing their own thing.

Although Eddie couldn't care less, all his attention was on the guitarist of the band. She was beyond beautiful and god was she amazing at the guitar. Not as amazing as he was, but a close second.

The entire time he hadn't been able to focus his gaze anywhere else then on her. It didn't go unnoticed, as Gareth had seen his friend drooling over the girl. She was extraordinary to say the least but also way out of Eddie's league.

"You don't stand a chance." Gareth whispered, glancing at Eddie who was barely paying any attention to him. He was caught in a trance, most likely staring at his 'dream girl', 'the one for him'. Eddie said that about a lot of girls but none of them really were. They were nothing more than a fling or a one night stand. It was the sad truth. "She's way out of your league."

"Is that so?" Even though it was a joke, Eddie couldn't help but seethe when Gareth's words replayed in his mind. 'She's way out of your league'

"You don't believe me Eddie? What you gonna try your luck?"

"Yeah so piss off." He spat, walking away from Gareth since the the girls band had finally finished playing. Once they packed away everything, the guitarist made her way over to the bar to get a drink and Eddie found himself making his way over towards her.

Fortunately, he didn't leave the drummer all alone since Gareth had found Andrew amongst the crowd talking to a couple girls. He was either going to interrupt something or get lucky enough to be set up with some chick.

The girl Eddie had been gawking at for an hour straight was currently sitting on one of the barstools by herself. This was his chance to talk to her, if some other desperate guy didn't swoop in first and take his chance. That would be unlikely since she would probably just ignore them or tell them to get lost. She seemed like the feisty type, well more that she was the feisty type.

"Can I buy the beautiful lady a drink?" Eddie asked, taking a seat on the empty chair beside her before placing his hands onto the counter. She chuckled a bit at his offer, turning her head to face him. He had a smirk plastered on his face as he looked her up and down.

"No, you cannot, because she already has a boyfriend." She joked back, waving over one of the bartenders so she could ask for a drink.

"And who is this lucky guy may I ask?"

"No one special." Stopping for a couple seconds, she pretended as though she was trying to remember something. "Oh, but he does have really cool hair."

Eddie leaned over closer to her, a smirk still playing in his lips. She could smell the alcohol and cigarettes on him, not too strong but just the perfect amount to intoxicate her. He kept on moving closer till his mouth was right by her ear, close enough that she could feel his breath.

"I hate having to fucking pretend Y/n."

"Me too." She replied, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before paying for her drink and walking off. Eddie sighed in frustration because of her constant teasing when they were in public.

Eddie may have forgotten to mention to Gareth that he actually stood a chance with the girl Y/n. In fact they had been together for just over two months after meeting each other at a Metallica concert. They even knew about each other's bands and immediately hit it off since they had so much in common.

Ever since they had been keeping their relationship a secret, meeting each other in secret, hoping that no one would catch them in the act. The reason for the secrecy was that they weren't allowed to be together.

Corroded Coffins manager was quite a strict man with a set of different values to Eddie and some of the other members it seemed. When tours were coming up, none of the band mates were allowed to be in proper relationships. Or at least for the next couple years they weren't.

Tom, their manager believed that their tours would do better and sell out more if the world knew that they were all single. So half the people showing up to their concerts were chicks who wanted to get laid after shows.

Eddie hated it because he didn't want just randoms chicks showing up. Don't get him wrong, they were a pretty sight, but he wanted people who actually loved his music to come. People that appreciated what he was doing and those girls definitely didn't.

Plus, the rule stopped him from openly being with his 'dream girl' Y/n. Obviously he loved privacy and not having reporters and fans up in their business all the time, but he didn't want to hide everything that did from all his friends. Or having to make up new stupid excuses every time he wanted to see Y/n. It sucked having to pretend.

"You played really well sweetheart." Eddie said, leaving a trail of kisses along her jawline before connecting their lips for a sweet kiss. One that he had been dying for, since they last spent time together which was about a week ago. Now that Corroded Coffin was going to be on tour soon, they wouldn't be able to see each other as much which they both hated.

"I know, your friend Andrew made sure to let me know." Y/n teased, knowing that it would piss Eddie off. Although it wasn't Andrew's fault, he didn't know about their existing relationship and he was quite a flirt to any girl he crossed paths with. "Don't worry, I'm not into blondes.

"Good. I'd hate to have to go blonde."

"I wonder what you'd look like bl-" she was cut off by a loud knock on the door, followed by Gareth shouting Eddie's name. He sounded angry so Y/n hurried to get up but nearly ended up falling off the bed.

"Quick, under the bed." In record speed Y/n was under the bed with the blankets being long enough it draped over the side, blocking anyone from seeing underneath unless they lifted it up. As long as Gareth didn't get suspicious there was no way he would. "Coming!"

"You wanna know what I found in the paper today?" Gareth did not seem happy in the slightest. What could be on the paper that was so bad enough to ruin even his mood. "This! Look at it."

He slammed the newspaper down onto the small table they were provided with in the motel. Right on the front page was a picture of Eddie leaving a small cafe while holding some girls hand. That girl was none other than Y/n, the girl he'd been sneaking around with. The headline reading Rockstar Edward Munson spotted with a secret girl, could a new relationship spark?

"That was a photo from a week ago, I'm surprised it wasn't published sooner." Gareth explained, crossing his arms. Not only had his friend hidden this girl from him, but had broken one of the band rules. He didn't want to see his friend get hurt, or get in trouble. "So is this just a one time thing, or like uh, a long time thing?"

"Um- a one time thing." Eddie was never really good at lying, and after being friends with each other for over a decade it was easy to spot the lies from the truth. For example, Gareth knew that he wasn't telling the truth.

"You're lying, stop lying to me." He snapped, groaning in frustration afterwards. They were best friends, why couldn't Eddie be honest with him. It's not like he would've snitched to Tom, that would be betrayal and he wasn't like that. "Ok, well, I don't think boss has seen these yet, and I'll try to make sure he doesn't."

Eddie's frown instantly turned into a grin when he realised Gareth wasn't going to do anything bad. Maybe he should've told him earlier, although he was just scared what he would say with the rules and everything. Now he knew the drummer was on his side which would come in handy if they slipped up again.

"Just be more careful please, you don't know what'll happen if Tom finds out."

"Thanks man, I really appreciate it." Eddie embraced him in a quick hug before Gareth left, the paper still laying open with the picture of the two together. He took a closer look, smiling to himself at the memory as he had forgotten about that same girl being underneath his bed.

"Can I come out now?"

"Oh shit, right. Yeah sorry!" He cursed, rushing over to her so he could lift the blanket up. Soon after she came shuffling out, dusting herself off once she had gotten onto her feet. They ought to vacuum there or something, she was surprised a sneeze didn't escape whilst their unexpected visitor was here. "Looks like we're busted."

"I told you we should've just gone to the McDonald's drive through or something."

"No, because I wanted to treat my girl." He argued, taking a step closer to her so he could pull her in for another kiss. Gareth had interrupted them, and in that time he had already missed the feeling of Y/n's lips against his.

"Well what if Tom finds out?" Y/n imposed, a frown instantly spreading across her face. They both didn't want to admit that possibility, neither of them wanted what they had to ever end. If it did in the future with them both deciding it would be best, then so be it. But they didn't want to be forced apart just because Eddie's boss had stupid rules that he set in place. "Eddie, I know you'd pick your band, and I'd want you to. You know I would."

"Well good thing I won't have to."

"Edd-" She attempted to object his statement since it was more likely that he would have to in the future. There was no way they'd be able to keep up the pretending forever.

"Shh- we'll figure it out on the way, ok sweetheart?"

"Fine, but only because I trust you." He wrapped his arms around her waist, picking her up so he could drop her back down onto the bed. "But that was a close call, Gareth's right. We've gotta be more careful."

"If that's what the princess wishes, that's what she gets." His teasing earned himself a slap on the shoulder when he flopped down onto the bed. Reaching his arms out, he gestured for her to come closer so she did, snuggling her head into the crook of his neck. If anything ever happened, she would miss moments like this. "For now, I'm perfectly fine with this little secret relationship."
