Hawkins Killer pt 2

The second the bell went Y/n rushed out of class to her locker, grabbing her things. Then she rushed past everyone till she got out the school. Heading to her car, she pulled out her keys to unlock it.

"Hey." Y/n jumped a bit and gasped when she heard the voice. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you sweetheart."

"Oh Eddie, hi." She took a deep breath in, stopping beside her car. He smiled at her, stuffing his hands in his pocket.

"So where you off to in a rush."

"The library."

"Mind if I join you?" Y/n did not ever think of him as someone who would ever be seen alive in one. But she wasn't going to say no. He was her crush and she'd take any chance to be alone with him. Even if they were technically studying the whole time.

"The more the merrier." He smiled at her causing her to blush. Wow his smile was amazing. And the fact he was smiling at her made it so much better. "Well, meet you there? Presuming you actually know the way there?"

"Haha, very funny Y/n." He replied sarcastically. Of course he knew the way there, well he would remember it, hopefully. He'd just follow her car there, easy. She wouldn't notice a thing. "Alright see you there."

He threw his hands up awkwardly in the air, doing finger guns before shoving them back into his pocket. God that was strange. Why did he do that? She waved bye before heading to her own car, leaving first off the the library. Eddie followed behind like planned so he wouldn't get lost and make a fool of himself.

Once they arrived, Eddie caught up to her. Running a bit ahead, he opened the front door, stepping aside as he gestured for her to enter.

"What a gentleman." Y/n joked causing him to snicker. She went over to the front desk, saying hi to the librarian who asked what they were looking for. "Your true crime section please, the previous Hawkins murdering in particular."

"Down behind row 23, here's the keys."

"Thanks." She handed Y/n the keys before they walked off. Checking all the rows, she found the door near the back. Unlocking it, she slowly opened the door, causing it to creak. She then flicked on the light, revealing a set of stairs leading down.

"Perfect place to kill someone." Eddie joked, ending the tension. Although it wasn't really the time, considering two people had already been murdered in very isolated, spooky places like this. "Ladies first."

Y/n scoffed, how sweet of him. Maybe he was trying to get her to go first so he could whip out a knife and stab her right in the back. Then she'd fall down the stairs, he'd lock the door and leave. It was smart, no one would find her. She'd be skeletons by the time someone went down there and he'd be long gone. But that was just stupid. Of course he wouldn't do that.

Taking a deep breath in, she glanced at Eddie who seemed a bit nervous as well. None of them wanted to go down there first. But before she could change her mind, she took her first step down which he then followed her.

When they reached the bottom, there were a few more isles and a table in the centre. If you forgot the fact a killer was on the loose and that this place wasn't all about murderers, it would actually be a nice place to study and hangout. Or get smothered to death.

"So what are we looking for?"

"The previous killings in 1979, I just feel like they're connected." Eddie nodded his head, there was no arguing with her. She was way smarter than him and was most likely right. "You said there was apparently a symbol for a cult carved or something right?"

"Mhm."

"If we find the case, maybe there will be pictures of it." Y/n explained, walking over to the first aisle. She slowly went through all the letters of the alphabet. It would take forever to go through every single shelf and row. What could they have possibly named the case. That would break the whole process down and make it a hundred times faster. Maybe it was named after Hawkins the town. It would make sense. It was probably one of the most brutal and scariest crimes of this town since the 1800's. Rushing over to H, she searched through the books and files, until she landed on something.

"Hawkins Psycho Killer! Bingo." Y/n cheered impressed with herself. So much quicker.

"Wow, that was fast."

They both sat down at the table, opening the book. It was written by a nameless author. They were probably scared of being the next victim. Who wouldn't be. No one wanted their eyes gauged out, symbols carved into their stomach or a knife stabbing them seven times in a row.

Scanning through all the pages, Y/n looked for any important information that could point them into any direction. Any that would get them a step closer to solving this investigation. She would love to see the look on everyone's faces once she figured this out. Not only was she a self-proclaimed detective and teenager, but also a girl. Everyone seemed to underestimate girls, but this would prove them wrong.

Eddie could hardly keep up with her incredibly fast reading pace, but he managed to read a couple things. After a while he gave up, looking up at the side of Y/n's face. She was so concentrated on the book it was adorable. He wasn't very sneaky as she could feel his stare. It made her nervous but she tried to ignore it. She was so close to finding the next clue that nothing was getting in the way.

Finally, she found a page that had a couple pictures drawn. One of them being some sort of symbol that was found on the victims. Y/n hopped up excitedly, shutting the book before picking it up.

"We found our lead."

"That's great!"

"Well it's more a loose thread, but pull at every loose thread you find." It was like she was teaching him lessons. "Alright now we need to find out what this means."

She signalled for him to keep following her as they went back upstairs. God was she happy to have left that creepy room. Now they were looking through anything to do with fantasy, folklore, mythology. Anything that could possibly have answers for what it meant.

After a while of looking, she was close to giving up. She had probably read everything in those sections and there was no where else it could be. Eddie had been helping a bit, but he was no where near as fast as her.

"Ugh, I need a break or so-" She stopped in the middle of her sentence when she saw him holding a book she hadn't seen before in his hands. "What's that?"

"Uhhh," he wasn't able to answer since she snatched it out of his hands, reading the title. 'The Undying King'. Interesting name for a book, but who knows. Maybe Is was what she was looking for. Opening it, she began flicking through the pages till she landed upon something very familiar. The exact same symbol.

"You're a genius Eddie!" She yelled a little too loudly, grinning at him. It made him proud of himself. He actually helped her. On the same page it talked about this higher being, 'Vecna'. How he was able to be summoned with seven human sacrifices. Their eyes were removed, stabbed seven times, the symbol carved into their stomach and a few lines recited. It made her shiver thinking about it. "Now we just need to see if any of these new victims have the exact same symbol."

"Making progress!"

"Exactly, thank you so much for helping Eddie." She thanked him, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"I don't know if I was really, helping."

"Nonsense." Grabbing the couple books they'd found, she made her way back to the front desk. "Just these thanks."

The lady nodded, scanning them, typing a few things down before wishing them a good rest of the day. Well that was quite a success. It was a great feeling when a detective was right.

"So, I was thinking." Eddie began, fiddling with his ring as they left the building. "Let me take you out."

"But there's a killer on the loose."

"Even better reason to." She furrowed her eyebrows, what did he mean by that. "You know, cause if we're gonna die one of these days, I'd want to take a the prettiest girl I've ever seen out on a date."

"Oh." She couldn't hide the blush covering her cheeks. God he was such a flirt, even in the scariest of times. But she would love nothing more than to have an excuse to spend more time with him. "I'd love that."

"Great! I'll let you know when." He tried to act cool, but he was screaming with joy inside. "Cya around sweetheart."

"Bye Eddie."

Ok so here's part 2. I'll probs write up a few chapters for this before posting the book, so lemme know if u like this kinda plot. Don't wanna write another book if no one's interested 😭😭. But enjoy.
