I looked around for possible ways to get out of this situation. Nothing.
"Well, isn't this a superb view,"
Yuugo said, I glared at him.

"You're a psycho!"
Ray exclaimed.

"Look who's talking,"
Yuugo grinned.
"Sorry. I got bored because... things were going so smoothly."

{ Angry demons... there are so many of them... How are we going to deal with them? }

"Well, I'm sure you're gonna die, but good luck. I'll be watching from nearby,
I'll save one of you when the other dies,"
Yuugo said and left.
I grumbled under my breath, thinking.

"Mister!"
Emma called out.

"It's fine. Let him go,"
I said, looking at the demons.

"If he's watching, he'll be near us. He won't go and hurt our siblings in the shelter, and he hasn't abandoned his job as a guide. We need to take care of these demons first!"
Ray said.

"Yes, but how?"
I asked.

"Ray! Y/n! They're climbing up!"
Emma exclaimed.

"This way!!"
Ray exclaimed, rushing along the tree trunk.

I followed after him with Emma on my tail.
Ray took out his gun and shot.
That would be useless, if we can't find a weak spot to hit.
A waste of bullets...

"Emma, that pistol!"
he then shouted.

She took it out,
"Which bullet?"
she asked.

"Green!"
I responded.

"Shoot!"
Ray yelled, and she did.

It shot out a trap and tangled them up.
"They're tangled up!"
Emma confirmed.

"Good! Let's make a run for it!"
Ray said and we did.

I looked back and my eyes widened.
They were eating their own.
"They're already coming after us!"
Emma exclaimed.

I grit my teeth.
{ Think, Y/n. Think. What could be a weak spot. }
I thought back to what Mujika had taught me about demons.

I continued running.
Ray continued shooting as he ran.
"It's useless, Ray! A waste of bullets,"
I told him.

He grit his teeth and I knew he heard me.
My heart was pounding so hard I didn't even know if he responded or not.

My eyes widened as I noticed Emma was now in front of me.
"Ray!"
I exclaimed as he got grabbed.

{ How...? Damn it, I can't think. }
Then it hit me.

"Y/n, it's eye!! The eye in the middle of its face!!"
Ray yelled.

My eyes went wide. That's the weak spot.
Of course. That's why Mujika and Sonju wore masks.

I took out my bow and placed an arrow in it.
Then, aimed and shot.

It let go of Ray and fell back.
"It's not regenerating!"
Emma said with relief.

"Good! We need to escape!"
Ray said.

I nodded and we continued to run.
"We'll fight back only when necessary and run to a territory of different species!
The geezer said there are many species, right? If we pit them against each other, it'll distract them from us!!
After that, we'll get out of their territory like we originally planned!"
Ray said.

"Got it!"
Emma and I replied.

I took deep breaths as I sat next to Ray, laying my head on his shoulder as I tried to catch my breath.
Emma had my hand in hers.

Soon, Yuugo arrived.
"Good job. Wow, I didn't think you'd make it on your own!"

"Hey, Mister? We're alive.
We may be... weaklings, but we're still alive,"
Emma said with a smile.

"Yeah, you're right,"
he responded.

{ We survived and we found a way to kill the demons.
Our goal is to get to the destination in four days. With the return trip, we have at least seven days.
Seven more days... Seven more long days. }

"Bring it on,"
I heard Ray mutter and I smiled.
